Food for Thought, Incredible! This thought provoking clean eating restaurant was just outstanding. Food and Service both were exquisite. Our server was friendly, fast, well trained and organized. We had a wonderful experience with jokes and funnies. The entrees, desserts, drinks and appetizers were just delectable. All of the menu choices are hand picked by the owners and managers specifically to ensure a great customer experience. The adult beverages were perfect, great price, right punch etc. The Tea, was great! The tap water was not filtered but I wasn’t at this restaurant for water. I definitely recommend Food for Thought for anyone interested in clean eating with a twist of mental stimuli.

Atmosphere is fantastic. Restaurant is very clean, staff is very friendly and courteous. Food was absolutely spectacular. I had the "Best of Both World's". Steak was cooked perfectly. Crab cake was excellent. Mostly crab meat and very little filler (which is required to make it stick together). Not overly seasoned. Broccoli was perfectly cooked as well as the mashed red potatoes.

If you're vegan, not only can you eat here, you will eat healthy, gourmet meals. I got the Ultimate Vegetarian with pesto and it was a delicious vegan meal. My husband got the mushroom stack and the sauce was to die for. I love that it is whole food plant-based with no processed meat analogs. They also had a couple of other vegan meals that looked great. Ask for the vegan flat bread because the regular bread is not vegan. The tomatoes that come with the bread was simply fabulous!! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the rice was to die for. My only recommendation is to have a few more vegan options to include appetizer.

Lovely atmosphere and service. Good food in general. Definitely recommend the burger, it was excellent. The creamed spinach was good. Word to the wise ask beforehand what the market price of the crab cakes is for the day. I wasn’t very impressed by the crab cakes and was quite surprised to pay >$30 for them. Lovely decor.

We stopped at food for thought in Williamsburg for lunch on a Sunday - there wasn't a wait before noon but when we left 35 mins. The food was solid, boneless tenders with house buffalo sauce, yes please, pot roast and meatloaf...fantastic, will put you right to sleep. Bread was even great. I don't eat fish and chips but allegedly it was also good. Bathrooms were backed up for a while, slight inconvenience.

This is a “One of a Kind” restaurant. There are no other locations anywhere else, and if you go, you’ll see why! The uniqueness of the decor, drinks, dishes, and books to read make this place special; but people go for the food and service. I had the steak salad and my date had the crab cake. Both dishes were cooked to order, tasted delicious, and neither of us finished, all great signs for good food. The service was exceptional. There appeared to be a front of house and a general manager present that made rounds helping the wait staff and checking on each table individually. This is a vast improvement over most restaurants I’ve ever visited, and we will be going back! Our server was outstanding, knew when to shy away from the table if we were talking seriously and when we weren’t, discreetly checked on the food and our needs. They also had a great bar area with two bartenders that were quick to make drinks while people were waiting, and there were a few seats around the bar if you ever went solo or with one other to escape the wait. 5 Stars. You will not be dissatisfied or disappointed leaving here!

Visited here for the 1st time after reaching all of the great reviews and I have to say they were not lying. From our bartenders Thomas & Alex, our delicious meal and absolutely great attentive service! I love all of the cool wall quotes, the trivia and 'think' cards and just the whole experience honestly!! Had the 'Shrimp boat' as an appetizer, then the special 'Cajun pineapple glazed salmon' as my entree.. Simply put 😋😘 yummy yummy in my tummy. Washed it all down with the 'Great margarita' and my desert tiramisu martini was sweet and delicious. The perfect end to it all. This has obviously been added to my 'Favorites' list, it's well worth the 1hr drive from Richmond and I'll definitely be going back sooner rather than later. $$$

Enjoyed our meals. Our food was delicious, but was hoping for something more celebratory as we were celebrating our son’s 34th birthday. However, we really liked the “Food for Thought” conversation starter cards on the table. Those kept everyone at the table engaged and the wait for our food did not seem to take too long. Great place for a family dinner night out👍🏾😋.

Had a great meal here last week with family. The food was tasty and well prepared. I like the theme of the restaurant. Had some kids in our party, and it was nice to show them the quotes and stories, etc. Would definitely come again.

Delicious food and kind staff. Only downside is parking. The lot was full so you have to park 2 lots over at Ripleys. Not far to walk just a really small parking lot. Hubby got filet with blue cheese crumbles which he said was delicious. I got broiled crab cakes and skinny fries yum!

I made two visits to this restaurant and I can't say I had any problems or concerns either time. Food was excellent and filling. Waiters and hosts were gracious and friendly. Definitely a place I would suggest and love to visit again and again.

This place was utterly amazing. It's a little pricey but well worth it. My lady friend got the fried haddock with lemon sauce. She thought the sauce was too sweet and the waiter (Eshaun) was more than willing to whip her up a new one. I got the filet which came topped with a delicious mushroom garlic sauce. The garlic mased potatoes were arguably the best I've ever had (so good I wish I would have doubled up!) The mimosas were okay, they use fresh OJ so that was cool. The bread was bangin! Great food, great atmosphere, outstanding service. Oh and they are Chikfilia fast when it comes to making the food. We were literally in and out in less than an hour. Will definitely make this a regular spot to fill our bellies and please our taste buds.

WOW!! 🤯 Never "Thought" the "Food" would be THIS good!! I am glad we arrived early because there was quite a line waiting when we departed. The service is stellar and all the items we ordered were "come again for" great; the Halibut 🐟 , Ribs 🍖 , Salmon, and the desserts were exceptional; the "traditional" Creme Brulee and I never had Bread 🍞 Pudding as extraordinary!😋 The ladies loved 😍 the Summer Sangria and, it seems the bar 🍸 is "First Class" ! Will return for Happy Hour! 😊

We saw the great reviews for this place, and decided to check it out. We called ahead for a late lunch, and they had our table ready when we got there. They also had a sling to hold our baby carrier. Our service was excellent! Our server made recommendations and even showed us photos when it came time for us to choose dessert. We enjoyed the mind games on the table while waiting for our food. My food was delicious. I enjoyed the cilantro chicken, mashed potatoes, and pea/corn medley. The bread for the table was also great. The dessert portions are large. I shared the bread pudding, and I was very full. I would definitely go back, and I definitely recommend trying this place.

There was a slight wait but it was well worth it. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. My daughter accidentally spilled her water all over the table and the manager himself personally brought towels and cleaned it all up. He brought us all new utensils and napkins and tried to ensure we were comfortable. Will definitely come back whenever vacationing in Williamsburg.

This is a great place to stop off at while in Williamsburg! It can get busy, but the food and atmosphere are worth the wait. They have a good variety of food as well as several vegan options! I tried the vegan Reuben sandwich and it was so good. I also enjoyed the vegan raspberry chocolate torte!

Talk about southern comfort! The reviews lives up to the rave! We ordered the Family Reunion, Stick to your Ribs, and Thai On One, and Down South! Appetizers we had Creamy crab chowder! It was amazing! Every thing was awesome, on of the best grits and shrimps I had ! The ribs were really fall of the bones! The seasoning was on the dot! Not too salty or no flavors! We had bread pudding and crème brûlée to go for dessert! We are still too full to dip into dessert! No wonder it’s considered as one of the top restaurants in VA! Definitely will be back here again in the future!

My husband loves Food for Thought. Every time we visit Williamsburg this is a go to place for him. He always gets the fish and couldn't be happier. I got the Berry Merry Old Fashioned and it was absolutely wonderful. Wait staff is always great. We were seated right away and the food came out quickly and was fresh as always. A winner all the time.

Excellent food! I had the $25 entree of crab cake onto of a portobello mushroom surrounded by rice a light cheese. The bbq rib appetizer was fall off the bone good. The pre meal bread is soft and tasty. The whole concept of having discussion cards to generate conversation is great for everyone in today's culture. The parking lot is a bit small and due to popularity there are no reservations so come early and wait or reserve a table. Best food I've had thus far in Williamsburg.

Dinner with friends. Ate outdoors under the shade of a tree. Great ambiance, atmosphere. Good music, awesome food and our server Camden went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Owner talked to us, very nice guy. Highly recommend this restaurant and will make it a point to return now that I know it is there.

I never miss an opportunity to eat here when going to the beach. Excellent food - always fresh and creative! Currently doing a great job maintaining all the covid protocols.

Great ambiance, excellent food and friendly, attentive staff. Checked on us at a reasonable interval without seeming either overbearing or neglectful. We had the Coastline lump crab sandwich, the berry salad, the gluten free flat bread, and the Cheese and Trees mac. Everything was wonderful but both the gluten free flat bread and the Cheese and Trees were exceptional. I highly recommend the Cheese and Trees. Not your typical mac. The broccoli in it was the best part.

Let me start by saying I live about 45 minutes away from this restaurant, but would make that drive any day of the week for their delicious food and amazing customer service! Our waiter was Ian and he was precious. The staff was SO courteous and friendly throughout our entire encounter. They brought out Parmesan bread and sweet potato corn bread, but once I mentioned while ordering that I was lactose intolerant, our waiter quickly offered and brought out flat bread with bruschetta tomatoes (no extra charge). Made me feel SO special! When I ordered the Crab-a-bella, I ordered with no Swiss cheese (again...lactose intolerant) and he gleefully said “no worries, we have dairy free provolone if you’d like that!” My mind was blown!! My friend ordered the special of the day, which was basically a seafood platter! We were both miserable leaving only because we were so full!!!! The flavors were spectacular and perfect marriages. At another point, the manager came to check on everything as well. I cannot say enough good things and I cannot wait to return. Next time, I’m leaving room for dessert! ?

This was truly the epitome of what I desire from all my restaurant outings. All of it from the service, the staff to the food was simply incredible. Plus they make good strong daiquiris ??? If you are ever passing through Williamsburg this is definitely a place you want to try!

The food was great! We had a chicken sandwich and shrimp and grits. We finished off with key lime pie. Service was slow, but there was a lot of people going in and out. I liked the option of sitting outside. Staff was all wearing masks. They were using real menus but had a pile for used vs new.

We wanted to go out to eat after weeks in the house. They had a section of the parking lot closed with some tables and palm trees. It was so cute, it was my birthday and I really had a great time. The food was excellent and the manager and the waitress went out of their way. I am in love with this place.

  • 4/5 Carrie P. 3 years ago on Google
The food was delicious and our server was delightful. It did take the kitchen some time to prepare, however the dishes were scrumptious! Atmosphere is quirky and fun- quotes gallor for those history lovers. A definite must on any visitors stop for local dining.

This restaurant is the DEFINITION of hospitality. From the host to our waitress to the manager, everyone was fantastic and helpful. The outdoor seating area they had set up in the parking lot was very well done, with equally great service to if we were sitting inside. Food was delicious - very fresh and PLENTY of vegetarian/vegan options.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Food For Thought. This is my absolute favorite restaurant of all time!! Not only is the food always incredible (seriously, we drive from Richmond as often as we can. I always get something different and everything I've tried has been delicious), but the ownership and the entire staff are absolutely amazing! I am so thankful this little gem exists! Thank you for always going above and beyond for your customers. You set a perfect example of what every establishment should strive for! Kudos, y'all :)

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! While on vacation 6 hours from home we had nice lunch before hitting the road. Shrimp Grits, Bacon Burger, Crab Cake side, sweet tea and corn bread made with sweet potatoes; everything was prepared well with great flavors from spicy to mild. We both had special food preparation request and all the staff were very accommodating especially our server Mathew. A nice selection of Tazo teas and deserts. We had the Gourmet Bread Pudding with Brandy Cream Sauce. I thank the "Wallace Trading Post Store" clerk for her excellent recommendation. I see why they have won many local awards.

Food at this place definitely is great, impecable presentation, hot food and plates and tasty dishes. People is very friendly. Also the atmosphere inside is a unique touch. My main concern is the service. Details that really matters. If you have a group of 8 or 10, they should make sure that everyone is served at the same time. I saw more than enough food runners and managers on the floor. Also, the server has to concentrate as well on empty glasses and empty appetizers or soup plates to take away before main dish serve on the table. The last 2 more details, the position order to serve food; they got it right, the problem is using the right hand and serve food by the right way of the customer. Also, I saw servers, including my waiter, carrying drinks with their hand instead of using the trays. The effort from the kitchen people dies with those service details from their front house. I wish them the best. I'll visit them next year.

This is one of two restaurants that my girlfriend and I consider mandatory any time we visit Williamsburg. The varied and splashy menu would be the highlight at almost any other restaurant, but here it's only one part of a perfectly tooled puzzle of conversational lubricant. The drinks and food are always fantastic, the staff are some of the best, and the decor is tasteful but never dull. I could rave for hours about how good this place is.

My boyfriend and I went here on a whim to celebrate an anniversary amidst moving. They were full so they offered us reservations at 7:30. This was all good, but we had to be somewhere at 8:30 on the dot. The manager personally took our order over the phone, and the food was ready, along with a table, the second we got there. The staff were all excellent, friendly, and their food was phenomenal. The chef came out to personally see that the meat was properly temped, and the owner asked us if we were enjoying ourselves. This place went above and beyond for us and I will GLADLY recommend them to everyone.

The food and wait staff here are always fantastic. From entering to the time you leave you feel like you're at a family dinner. The staff is welcoming, sincere, on top of everything, and top notch. The rolls they give you are some of the best I've ever had. I've been here numerous times and want to try different things, but it's hard to get away from That Nutty Chicken!, The Family Reunion (pot roast and meatloaf), or from the Cilantro Lime Chicken. The food always is always fresh and cooked to perfection, and is as I order with substitutions etc.. I was told by my sister said the special of the seafood platter was delicious, as was the crab cakes my brother in law ordered. To finish with dessert is the cherry on top, always fresh and delicious. If you're in town don't hesitate, go, and if there's a wait, wait, it is one of the few places in the area well worth it.

We came for dinner, 4:30 and a choice table away from others. The menu was amazing and we were very pleased with the grass fed filet and crab cake which were cooked perfectly and delicious. The rolls and cornbread were a nice surprise. The apple cider and spiced rum wasn’t quite hot enough and a little disappointing. The service was very swift and we were out in 30 minutes which we welcomed. The sayings gracing the wall and on the menu were apt for this establishment.

Our order: Appetizer - Stick to Your Ribs Snacker Entree - Family Reunion meatloaf and pot roast Sides - Mashed Potatoes, Creamy Grits, Corn & Green Pea Medley. Dessert - Gourmet bread pudding with Brandy cream sauce When you get to the table they give you bread and cornbread. The bread is good but the cornbread falls apart so easy that I have to give it just an ok. The flavor was good so if it was crumbled up in some pinto beans it would be quite tasty. Baby back ribs - they were fall off the bone tender (really!). They were extremely hot and you could barely hold the bone so it was good and done. The meat was very tasty. The only problem was the barbecue sauce which was a semi-sweet bland sauce. Most people would be very happy with this sauce but I would bring my own sauce with a little kick to it. Corn and green pea medley - I quite enjoyed this and had never really had it this way so I would definitely order again. Quite tasty! Creamy grits - I also had this as my side and the grits were great! You have to like grits though but these were extra creamy and thick and the best plain grits I've ever had. Somebody here knows how to fix grits! Meatloaf - The meatloaf seemed to lack heft (needs more meat?) although the taste was excellent and the red sauce was great. I recommend trying it but if I return I won't be ordering it again. Pot roast - The pot roast was meaty and tender, but the gravy was bland. There was a couple of carrot slices. I probably would not order this again either although I would still rate it pretty good. Mashed potatoes - The mashed potatoes and gravy was pretty good although the gravy again was a little bland. Gourmet bread pudding with Brandy cream sauce - here is something I looked at before we got there and was looking forward to trying. It was right on the dividing line of ok and good. I asked myself would I ever order this again and since the answer was no I would just say that it is okay but nothing special. I have to say the service was above par and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. The decor was fascinating. All in all I will return to this restaurant to try another sampling of food. The food was okay to great so I have to give this restaurant five stars.

Always a great choice. We have come here when traveling through the area over the last 8 years, and have always left impressed. The food is fantastic, and the restaurant is actually CLEAN! Like really clean! It’s so nice. I love their plantings/landscaping around the windows, and their decor theme is spot on. They have a great little souvenir wall and the prices are actually good! We got a cup this time, and it was only like $5. The owners/managers come around and check on you, and they are very welcoming. This time, our server’s name was Thomas. He was very attentive and patient (we have kids). We love this restaurant!!

Service was great- the server, Noah, was friendly. Food was good for the most part (dippers appetizer and red pepper/gouda soup were tasty), but salmon special left you wanting more and juice was all over the plate and ran into side item. The ribs entree was good.

A lovely place to dine, if not for the food then for the atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was extremely unique and thought provoking. Added an an extra layer of enjoyment and conversation that would otherwise be unachievable. This is a must visit if you'll be in the Williamsburg area!

Cool idea but honestly the worst "Pad Thai" I've ever had. I love Pad Thai dishes and I couldn't even finish it. Decent service and kinda forced intellectual vibe. Everything was mostly just okay at best. I hate to sound contrary to most reviews, but that's the reason I stopped by and nothing really impressed me much.

Food and a fun experience. One of my favorite restaurants, the food is great and the "trivia" theme is fun and engaging. Specials have been delicious both times I have dined and portions are good size. My most recent visit they even had local kombucha on the drink menu, first time I've experienced that. Grab a t shirt on the way out, their selection is great!

On the positive side, my husband and friends had the seafood platter and they said it was fresh (but it’s all fried)! I asked what was popular on the menu and the manager said “we’re known for our shrimp and grits”..... I disagree. It was not good - at all! I barely ate it, just the shrimp. The ambiance was okay, a bit sterile but likely due to covid. There was a kid there screaming at the top of his lungs! The family was sitting in the bar area and there were plenty of adults. Two things - do the parents not hear that kid? Second, the manager should have tried to help or ask the parents to sooth the kid elsewhere (like outside or the car). I have kids too but let me just say, I would NEVER let my kids disturb someone else's expensive meal and outing. Won’t be back.

The scallops and mushroom rice were phenomenal. The brussel sprouts were also some of the best I've ever had. The fish in the fish and chips was good but the fries were soggy. That coleslaw though was absolutely fantastic.

Kudos to the staff at Food for Thought for being customer service rockstars in the mist of COVID-19. Our server was truly helpful, fun to speak with regarding the many quotes around the restaurant and also provided amazing customer service. The food was super delicious and while it was my first time visiting, it will surely not be my last. So sad it’s not closer to my hometown but, will be back very soon!!

My son and I made a trip to food for thought.. The name through me off but I'm so glad we went. This is not fine dining its very casual and delicious southern homestyle food. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, seafood, steak, salads, soups. I feel like anyone in the family would be able to find something they could enjoy. I got crab cakes 2 jumbo lump w 2 sides plus they bring cornbread and rolls to the table. My son is extremely picky and he had kids meatloaf and ate it all. I met the owner, Howard, he was very kind and asked how we were doing. Not a lot of parking but you can park next door at Ripleys. 3 meals for $50 not great but not bad and totally worth it. I will continue togo to this establishment as long as they're open and we visit williamsburg. Table had paper so kids can doodle or adults and menu is HUGEE!! Great drink specials and food for my child came out in 1 minute no joke I was thrilled

The absolute BEST pad thai I have ever had. I have been craving it ever since we left. The salmon and drafts were good too. Be sure to make a reservation as when we were there the walk in wait was a good hour. If parking is full you can park at the ripley's without risk of being towed unlike the vacant looking building next door. The 2 person dine-in tables and to-go orders are set up awkwardly due to covid but it is what it is.

Amazing food in every category. Filet of beef is so tender and flavorful and the choice of sauce is an excellent bonus. Mac and cheese for kids is homemade cheese sauce, for anyone who has kids that only eat kraft. Salmon was great as well as were all the sides my party sampled. And, as no surprise, the flourless cake, bread pudding and creme brulee were all delicious as well! Our family of 7 ate every single bite of everything, which is possibly a first.

The spaghetti squash was great and the pork ribs were also very good. 12 of us were at this dinner and everyone enjoyed the food. This will be a regular stop for now.

Just moved to the area, and this is already my favorite place to eat. The vegan accommodations are phenomenal and outshine any other restaurant I’ve ever been to. Never before has a restaurant truly cared about me being able to find something on the menu, and MULTIPLE things in every course for that matter. I plan to go here at least 100 more times

My family had a pretty good experience here Saturday night. Our party (13) was pretty large and it wasn't a problem for our server. The food was good and the price point was good for the amount of food you receive. Entrées ordered included Meat Loaf, Salmon w/apple & onion chutney, Bacon wrapped scallops (that nights special, however were not large but the taste was pleasant), and a rather large salad topped with steak (rave reviews for the creamy balsamic dressing) that seemed to be a big hit! The owner came over towards the end of our meal and asked of our experience. Overall good dinner experience, a nice break from alot of the chain restaurants, that litter up and down Rt.60 all around this place.

Nice restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. For very good. Had the ribs which were good but a little dry. Owner is involved and checks on tables to make sure everyone is happy which is nice to have that much care from top down at an establishment. Tone at the top perfect example. Good prices and nice desserts for kids and adults. Best kids menu I've seen around with nice healthy choices and options

Hands down the best Shrimp and Grits I've ever had!! Also the wait staff and owner are super friendly. I'll make this place a mandatory detour anytime I visit Williamsburg :) On the contrary, pot roast was okay. But between the ambiance and the rest of the food, the visit here was worth it

My husband saw this out of nowhere- I barged through two lanes of traffic to take a quick right into the parking lot. He loves Ben Franklin, especially when he is winking. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday, seated at 4:30pm, received food at 4:50pm, and were ready to leave by 5:30pm, even with him walking around to all the different quotes and checking out all of the books. Table has fresh flowers and fun questions to stir thought. The theme truly reinforces eating to live and not living to eat. The owner and part time plumber stopped by our table. Howard is part of the team and helps where he can. He had the nutty chicken with broccoli and he liked it as a light dinner. I had the berry salad. It was acceptable! I also had the best crème brûlée. It was… the best I’ve had in awhile! Great staff, good food, fun atmosphere. Would recommend and return!

Awesome dining experience 👏. Probably THE most accommodating restaurant for allergies we’ve ever been too — and we take complicated to new levels. Manager came and talked through our options. Very knowledgeable of recipes and substitutions. My son only like 1 item in the fruit cup so they gave him all strawberries. Everything was super delicious. Love the “wine flight.”

Our server was so helpful, efficient and sweet w my dad, and our orders came out great even w special requests. Thank you so much, to the kitchen and to our awesome server! The quotes on the walls are awesome and they sell great inspiring quote shirts as well. What a fun theme and with a little tweaking the expensive menu prices are well worth it 😄

We read the great reviews and decided to give this place a try. The reviews were spot on, and we truly enjoyed the best food we’ve ever had! The pot roast and pork ribs melted our mouths - so tender and robust with flavor that not a morsel was left on our plates. The sweet potato and broccoli sides proved to be the same. The orange crush was delicious as well. On top of all that, the service was excellent. Our waiter, Tyr, took extremely good care of us. We highly recommend this restaurant experience!

WOW! This restaurant REALLY blew my and friend’s mind! We came @ the right time (4:45 pm) and were seated promptly and the hostess had a pleasant smile. Our server did a splendid job taking our beverage order and allowing us to browse the menu. I settled on the Grilled Chicken with Lime Sandwich, accompanied w/ Skinny fries, seasoned ($15.50). I ate the whole thing! It was *that* good! My friend had the Best of Both Worlds ($35.00), accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes & rice. He ate his meal happily and with tears in his eyes (Yes, he was that happy!) One of the managers had stopped by our table to see how we are enjoying our experience. My friend told her everything I said in my review. She was ecstatic. This restaurant was recommended by a lady who is staying @ the same timeshare resort as us and both my friend and I are thankful! Rather than the five ✨, wish we could rate this 10+! Thank you for the superb dining experience!

Amazing service, interesting intellectual concept, and high quality food made from scratch. I got the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner special and my husband had the fish and chips, which I believe to be the best I ever had. Golden crust was perfect! The creamed spinach was perfectly seasoned and the mash potatoes were quickly eaten by the person at the table who swore they weren’t hungry.

Lovely atmosphere and selection of food for everyone. We ordered more seafood, trying the fish and mussels. The salmon was good, a bit dry, but flavored just right. Likely could have been fixed if asked to serve medium rare. The breaded fish was overly breaded. The mussels were excellent, complemented with a delicious white sauce. The staff was perfect, helpful, and very welcoming. We'll try again next year. Always a staple restaurant to visit when in town.

Love everything about this restaurant! Anytime we’re in Williamsburg, this is the place we’re always most excited about eating at. The service is always friendly and prompt. The food comes out fast and is truly delectable. The wine selection is good. And the ambiance is enjoyable. I especially love all the Founding Father quotes on the walls! You really feel like you’ve stepped back in time. If you’re not sure what to get you cannot go wrong with shrimp boats as an appetizer and the nutty chicken for your entrée! I was blown away with how delicious it was!! The orange-flavored beets are yummy too. Can’t wait to return!

Cucumber martini! Yes please🍸 The food was great but my waiter brought out chicken instead of vegan chicken. Also, our waiter spoke really fast and seemed like he was in a rush every time he came to the table. Lots of people and a little crowded for my taste. Great food though.

Great place to visit on a date, for business or with family. The atmosphere is very cozy and calm, the decor IS AMAZING! Great restaurant! This is our 2nd time eating at the restaurant. The first time we ate here was pre-covid and now. The food was great, and the service was top-notch. My wife and I had the haddock and my son the shrimp and grits. My daughter enjoyed her pasta.

It's been 10 years since I was last here, and it's just as good as last time. The spaghetti squash with basil pesto with pine nuts was perfect. My husband enjoyed the salmon. Enjoyed the games and trivia at the tables. Must make a stop in the bathroom to see the decor.

When I tell you, you must try everything, you must try everything here. This place is impeccable. I tried to eat there every day I was in Williamsburg. Everything about this place said "impeccable." The service, the food, the atmosphere. I didn't want to leave, but I had to. Will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful dinner here in williamsburg, Virginia. The service was quick and the servers were very warm and friendly. Tried a fall special mushroom and brie soup which was very good and also the rice stuffed baked squash. It didn't need any sides as the quantity was a LOT. we also tried two of their cocktails and the time for chocolate dessert. I wish the brownie was a little warm to go well with the vanilla ice cream. We got the dessert complimentary as we were celebrating a birthday. Overall great experience with all the cue cards to talk through. Call ahead for a priority seating.

A GREAT place for vegetarian food! As a vegetarian for 5 years, I can tell you that getting vegetarian whole foods made from scratch is nearly impossible (except salads that you get tired of). So when my wife and I travel, we are usually disappointed as we can't find anything close to what we get at home. This place fantastic. Yes, it has good reviews, but when we arrived, the place is very busy, and yet service is super friendly and fast. We were so impressed the first night, we went the next. Each time, we experienced a comfortable atmosphere with great vegetarian cuisine made from scratch. One night we had the meatloaf made with beyond...stunning with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The 2nd night, a spaghetti squash with mushroom gravy and wild rice. Only my wife makes a better version of this at home, and it's a rare treat. The wait staff was great and each night management made it to the table. They can do that without fear, as the wait staff is phenomenal. If you are anywhere near, treat yourself to this restaurant.

Unbelievable amount of vegetarian options, and vegan options, the bar had some delicious drinks to enjoy. I recommend the van Gogh Martini if you like your espresso, the weight staff was absolutely delightful. I put this on my most recommended list.
