Our stay and wedding at Colonial Gardens was amazing! It was perfect for the size of our wedding. About 20 people. From the rooms to the service we had a great time. The owner was kind and helpful throughout our stay and wedding. Everything was planned out and communicated in advance. The property is beautiful and well taken care of. The rooms were spacious and clean. Items were provided like towels, soaps, and even refreshments in the rooms. The location in Williamsburg was great and close to CW. All of our guests were happy with it. I would recommend to anyone!

My daughter has her wedding there that was planned for at least 8months in advance, the lady did contact and followed barely any of it. The married couple made the best of the situation, but it was nothing like the contract or the meetings. I felt so bad they were stressed over things that had being discussed with this women many months in advance. Maybe a good place to sleep. But she is no good at hosting a wedding. I will be taking to the married couple in a couple days I think they should get a lawyer. Nice place to sleep, nice locations but extremely unacceptable for hosting anything

Caveat emptor. Look mainly at recent reviews. (Ownership change since Covid?) Arising early and needing WiFi code, which had not been provided, I sought assistance. Per B&B's stated policy: "If you need anything at all...you can text me anytime night or day." I waited 'til 5:29 to text need for code. Retexted at 6 am. Absent a response at that point, I went to the manager's door and knocked. With no response, I knocked again - there, and at the first floor guest room that I'd seen her enter the prior evening. At length, manager presented at the first floor guest room door. She was quite angry, agitated, and aggressive, calling me "rude," for having disturbed her at such an hour, for only WiFi information. One must note that I was the "guest" and she was the ostensible "host" in a commercial hospitality entity. Having been unsettled by her worrisome behavior and wishing to avoid further contact, I didn't breakfast there. Later in the day, she sent, - by text, a lengthy commentary about that morning and notice about changes in her B&B policy. This was so bizarre that I (an 80 year old widow, traveling alone and with strong memories of Hitchcock's movies ) notified local authorities about her behavior - and notified her of that fact-simply wishing to warn her off, spare myself any further confrontation, and assure my safety. I spent my 2nd night there, had no breakfast, and left asap. I requested a refund of prepayment made for a third night That request has been refused. One could say more about decor, ambiance, plumbing, but it would seem that gracious treatment of guests is all that matters.

We discovered this place a year or so ago (see review below from that visit) and when we visited for a couple days last week, we were happy to find that our hostess Angela is as delightful as ever, Hank the dog still has a love affair with my wife, breakfast is still special (and don't hesitate to let Angela know if you have any special preferences or dislikes – she's always happy to accommodate personal tastes and requirements) and the premises are just as spotlessly clean and well-maintained as they were a year ago. This remains, in our book, one of the very best B&Bs we've experienced, and we B&B a lot.

Angela is a fantastic host! She made a delicious breakfast every morning, and engaged us in interesting conversation, discussing the history of the area and property. She is full of recommendations for food and entertainment if that is something you desire. We stayed in the Rhododendron Room and it was very nice. It had some modifications but maintained its historic charm. Our stay was very quiet and peaceful. The property is very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown Settlement, Jamestown Rediscovery and William & Mary University. My wife and I highly recommend it!

Lovely BnB with historic charm. Angela was a fantastic host with lots of knowledge of the area and recommendations for activities and food. She also made amazing breakfasts every morning that kept us full and happy for the start of our day. We stayed in the Primrose room which was beautifully kept and had great views into the gardens. We stayed in the summer and were comfortable the whole time. A wonderful place to stay and just down the street from colonial Williamsburg and William and Mary campus.

Colonial Gardens was amazing for a weekend getaway! The host, Angela, was so kind and welcoming and made sure that your stay was wonderful. She made a homemade breakfast every morning and was even thoughtful enough to message us beforehand on allergies and preferences. We stayed in the Rhododendron Suite and it was so spacious and perfect. A coffee machine and complementary drinks were even in the fridge. There were updates throughout the room and bathroom , but pieces left from the original build that gave it that special charm. She even told us the history of the house which added to the stay. We will DEFINITELY be back. The grounds were beautiful and the house definitely had a quiet and cozy atmosphere because of the limited number of rooms that you just can’t get at big resorts. It was a great value for all that you receive.

Colonial Gardens is the most lovely Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed in!!! Angela was an EXCELLENT host. Everything was SPOTLESS, normally I am very cautious about cleanliness, but I felt extremely comfortable. The food was amazing, host incredible, and house SPECTACULAR!!!
