A good war memorial to visit with kids. The memorial also has 7D show that is not to be missed. Entry fee is ₹ 150/- (₹50 extra for 7D show) that is very high considering non-commercial objective of memorial. Entry fee should be maximum ₹ 50/- only. Defence personnel and dependents are entitled for 50 % concession on entry fee. It's not advisable to visit this place with HOHO bus as we get only one hour in HOHO bus that is very less.

It is a museum complex but the whole area is surrounded by a garden as well. It is very well built and is worth visiting at least once if you visit Punjab. You can hire a guide for just ₹100 (subject to change) and they will guide you throughout and explain. Also you get to see the 7d experience (not very impressive but worth a watch). Ticket Price :- 150 per person for entry + additional 50 for 7D show The museum takes 4 hours to explore if you want to read and understand every thing in detail and 1 hour 30 minutes if you just go with lesser details. The museum has 8 galleries in total which has 8 crucial pieces of Indian heritage. Photography in all galleries has been allowed recently and touching items there is not allowed. Please carry enough water there as it takes time to explore this museum and there is no drinking water facility. Washrooms are available.

This is an amazing museum in the Punjab state which tells us the history of the nation. It is a museum complex but the whole area is surrounded by a garden as well. It’s a very well built in 2016 area for tourism and heritage. It is worth visiting at least once if you visit Punjab. You can hire a guide for just ₹100 (subject to change) and they will guide you throughout and explain. The museum takes 4 hours to explore if you want to read and understand every thing in detail and 1 hour 30 minutes if you just go with lesser details. The museum has 8 galleries in total which has 8 crucial pieces of Indian heritage. Photography in all galleries has been allowed recently and touching items there is not allowed. Please carry enough water there as it takes time to explore this museum and there is no drinking water facility. Washrooms are available. It takes 3 hours on an average to enjoy the museum experience and 1 hour for your scenic photography in the compound garden area.

The right place to learn about the wars whic occurred in our history. It shouldn't take more than 2 hours to navigate the whole place. I would recommend having a guide with you as it becomes easier and more convenient to learn. There's a 7D show with which you conclude your visit, however, it wasn't very exciting. But a good watch.

A very good initiative by the government to show us the real sacrifice of our Soldiers. Very beautiful museum of our Freedom fighter of Punjab. You Will know all the history of the War fought by Our brave soldiers . 7D theatre is quite low quality . You may experience a very delayed response by the Machine during the show . Otherwise a Great place for tourists from all around the world .I have a few photos of this place Hope you like them .🙏❤️

Very good museum. It gives lot of information about war history of India, mainly involvement of punjab force. There is a huge 45mtr sword marking glory of the vigor and honor of the armed force. The ticket costs 150rs, 50 rs additional if you are opting for 7D theater. It would have been better to reduce this ticket cost to allow more people. The guide charge is only 100rs which is very nominal. I recommend to use guide option. Another suggestion could be to use non Punjabi language as option in the 7d theater. The theater condition is deteriorated because of poor maintenance.

Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Museum showcases the fabulous Bravehearts of Punjab. The museum immortalizes the bravery of the soldiers of Punjab, displayed throughout with a spirit of patriotism. Built in both a traditional and modern architectural style, it houses a state-of-the-art gallery where Punjab's martial tradition and military campaigns can be viewed.

A beautiful memorial to Punjab’s contribution towards the security of Indian borders. They start from Alexander the Great’s invasion and go all the way to the Kargil war. The dioramas and displays are very nicely created while the audio-video commentary is done just right. A must see tourist attraction in Amritsar but it’s a little far from city center.

One full day is NOT enough to go through the amount of history told in the museum, from pre-independence to the modern day through clay models, audio, picture and video aids. You need to see it to believe it

The museum is located en route to the Wagah border. The premise was huge with different aircraft and tanks for exhibition, and lots of medieval and retro weapons. Can learn a lot about Sikh history and Sikh warriors. Worth stopping on your way to the Wagah Border.

Visitors often describe the experience as deeply moving and sobering, as they pay homage to the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers. The memorial's architecture and exhibits serve as powerful reminders of the cost of war and the importance of honoring those who served. Many visitors also express gratitude for the opportunity to learn about Punjab's rich military history and to reflect on the impact of war on communities and families. Overall, the Punjab State War Memorial tour provides a meaningful and educational experience for visitors of all age. The Memorial is closed every Monday. The timing is from 10 A.M to 5P.M every day. Punjab, the land of several valiant heroes and heroic stories, has always held a special place in the heart of the country. Amritsar held a prominent place in India's freedom struggle and was affected by several daunting events, such as the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, Operation Bluestar, and the partition of India. One place commemorating the memories of the courage of the state is the Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Museum, Amritsar. A quaint place near the most important place of Amritsar, the Wagah Border, displays everything the heroes stood for and more. The museum is a popular tourist destination in Amritsar due to its proximity to the international border between India and Pakistan, i.e. the Wagah border. In addition to being a popular tourist site, the museum serves as a continuing motivation for young people and a reminder of the price paid for freedom. Architecture of Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Museum Amritsar On a land measuring around three hectares, the Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Museum is situated on the outskirts of Amritsar, the holiest city in India. The Punjab State War Heroes Memorial & Museum, which cost Rs 130 crore to construct, was opened in October 2016 by Parkash Singh Badal, the province's chief minister. #Trivia: It was created by the New Delhi-based Indian architectural firm Kapoor and Associates. It features a cutting-edge gallery where visitors can view Punjab's martial history and military campaigns. It was constructed using both traditional and modern architectural styles. The central edifice of the stunning project is a 45 m high stainless steel sword that symbolises the power and bravery of the Punjabi people in defending their country during a time of need. This famous building occupies a spherical platform encircled by water. On the memorial, erected at the height of 4 metres, you will find the names of around 3500 martyrs. The sacrifices and brave acts from the time of the sixth Guru through the Kargil operations are shown in approximately 8 galleries. You can also see stunning visuals of the retired MiG-23 aircraft carrier ship, the INS Vikrant, and three tanks. Nanakshahi bricks were used in the construction of the memorial's perimeter wall. Three different combat zones from the pre-British, British, and post-independent eras are reflected in the landscape. As part of the tribute, it has a unique light and sound show. It boasts a 7D auditorium that allows visitors to experience various battle zones virtually.

Dear Reader, Hopefully you're doing well My visit to the Punjab State War Heroes Memorial was a moving and heartfelt experience. This poignant memorial stands as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of our heroes who laid down their lives for our nation. The memorial's design is both striking and dignified, and it captures the essence of honor and remembrance. The statues and plaques dedicated to the fallen soldiers are a powerful reminder of their courage and selflessness. Walking through the memorial grounds, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude for the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. The peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained surroundings provide a space for reflection and paying respects. The informative displays and exhibits inside the memorial further enrich the understanding of the history and significance of the events these heroes were a part of. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful in providing insights. This memorial is not just a place for remembrance; it's a reminder of the duty we all share to uphold the values and freedoms these heroes fought for. In summary, the Punjab State War Heroes Memorial is a place that invites us to remember, reflect, and honor the warriors who protected our nation. It's a humbling and emotionally resonant destination that everyone should visit to pay their respects. #WarHeroesMemorial #SaluteToHeroes🇮🇳🙏🕊️

I visited War Memorial few times ago . This place is all about our Freedom fighters , our ancient India's all cultural aspects like Harappan civilization , Mohenjodaro civilization . Numerous illustrations, photographs, paintings, artefacts, weapons and interactive panels can be found here, letting the tourists go back in time. The museum has a collection of photographs of the 1965 and 1971 war. A mural has been built to commemorate the work and pay tribute to the 21 Sikh soldiers who were martyred in the 1971 war.

Museum is good but staff is very bad, especially 2 sardarji who is on duty in 7D movie show. They are not interested to show the movie to public & force people to go another section of the museum.Govt must take strong action against such employees.

This is one of the must visiting place in Amritsar, it is bit far from the city center, one can easily reach here by hiring a cab or local taxi. This is a war memorial, mostly dedicated to the war heroes, who have battled in different wars for our country. One can feel goosebumps, while listening and reading their war cry and bravery through the images and quotes. My favorite, Sam Manekshaw effigy is over there. Just loved my visit over this place, one has to buy a ticket to enter this place, but worth visiting. Never forget your history, Jai hind .
