Awesome property and wonderful tour! Bear in mind this is an older priority and is not ADA friendly. There will be uneven ground, floors, and a lot of walking. Worth every step! Spencer was our tour guide, we did the 4 hour tour, and HE IS AMAZING!! Spencer really knows a tremendous amount about the history of the property, and the family. There’s a lot to see and learn here. There is a 1 hour tour if you are pressed for time. Highly recommend stopping here no matter your interest in architecture or not!

Another bucket list item checked off. We did the highlights tour which was a perfect amount of time. Got to see the school and house. Grounds are beautiful, buildings are amazing. I was surprised at the condition of the property though compared to many other Frank Lloyd Wright locations I’ve been too. This one needs some serious roof/ceiling restoration, and effort put into patching floors with like materials, etc. Personally I enjoyed Taliesin West and Oak Park more, but our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun and it is always nice busting a FLW property. If you visit here, try to get over to Racine, WI to see the SC Johnson Headquarters. FLW outdid himself on those buildings!

We took the 4 hour Estate Tour. If you are not a huge FLW fan, you may want to take a shorter tour. Lots of walking. No food available.nThe tour was fabulous. Make sure to stop at the Unity Chapel on your way out.

Has a huge Frank Lloyd Wright fan this was a joy open opportunity. Fortunate enough to also be able to see the architecture school as the students are located in Taliesin west for the season due to Covid. Frank Loyd Wright believed that you should always have the outdoors coming in any building. Every structure show that evidence. Nothing left to chance or without purpose. A must see for any architectural fan!

The comprehensive 4 hour tour is fascinating. I thought I knew Frank Lloyd Wright, then I took the tour and learned so much more. It wasn't just the place where there were multiple fires and a 7 person murder, it was a place where Frank Lloyd Wright strode around in a cape, Stalin's daughter came to be a resident, actress Anne Baxter came to ride horses, and Guggenheim came to visit.

Lovely architecture and layout. Walking from building to building had lots of intricate designs and thought of how rooms and hallways were laid out. The tour guide was very helpful answering questions and giving the history of each building.

Very cool tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s home. Went on the 1 hour tour. Booked a couple of hours in advance. Tour filled so worth planning ahead. Tour brings you through parts of this FLW home pointing out curiosities. Guide open to questions. Well worth it! Caution: Many uneven surfaces and areas without handrails.

Such a beautifully designed and well preserved campus displaying the sublime genius of a young and gradually maturing Frank Lloyd Wright. Well worth the drive to experience this treasure of visionary architecture. We will go back in the spring when the theatre restoration should be complete.

Very serene feeling here. The vastness beyond the home is beautifully inviting and just nice to take in. The home itself flows into the hill and sits as if meant to be a part of the terrain. I could only peek in one window but worth it! 3/27/22

Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect, interior designer, and educator. He is widely acknowledged for his innovative and pioneering designs, particularly in the developing American Modern style of architecture. One of his most iconic works is Taliesin, his home, studio, and school in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Wright designed and built Taliesin from 1911 to 1959, continuously adding to and expanding the complex. Taliesin is composed of distinctive Wright-influenced geometric shapes, corner windows, and terraces that blend into the surrounding rural landscape. A blend of natural materials, like rocks, wood, and sand, are used to craft a beautiful form and incorporate the landscape into the design. The building also features an impressive collection of furniture designed by Wright himself, setting it apart from other examples of his work. Taliesin is an important part of Wright's legacy, serving as a testament to his groundbreaking ideas and is now a National Historic Landmark.

We took our family to visit as my son has a big interest in architecture. It’s fascinating to see how FLW lived and continuously modified his own home. The 2 hour tour had ample time to walk the outside of the property and inside. The tour guide and staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and took time to answer everyone’s questions. It’s a beautiful location that you have to see for yourself. There are no bathrooms at the property, so prepare accordingly.

We went on the two hour-long tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin house, and it was very informative without ever feeling rushed or prolonged. The house is a stroke of architectural genius (that goes without saying). The state of the house itself, however, left something to be desired, especially in comparison with Taliesin West in Arizona. Several ceilings were sagging and the concrete looked quite old, but some of that might be due to FLW's preference of vision/artistry over longevity. Nevertheless, it was great to walk around the property, soaking in the forward-thinking design of the exterior and interior alike. Our tour guide was pleasant and made it an interesting experience, but did not seem to know every obscure detail about the house or the architect.

The very detailed 4 hour tour is fantastic taking you through multiple structures across the property. The level of detail and background information provided by the guide really makes the tour special.

We took the highlights tour (2 hours) and really enjoyed everything about it. As a designer, I learned about FLW in school, but never expected what I saw at Taliesen. I was blown away and inspired by all that he did. The tour takes you through his 2nd school and studio, and then through his house, which both have been restored to what they once were during his last years of life. The tour is mainly geared towards adults. We want to come back for the 4-hour walking tour next!

Really enjoyed. Our tor guide was great and informative. If to do again, I wouldn't do less than the 2-hour house tour.

Stunningly beautiful and a glimpse into the life of Frank Lloyd Wright in his beloved homestead and architects’ school. The countryside of the incredible Driftless area of Wisconsin is unlike anything in the US. I recommend the 4 hour tour to be able to walk the grounds of Taliesin and see the drafting room for the apprentices and other buildings in addition to the main home. Our tour guide, Matt, was extremely knowledgeable and informative throughout. The Visitors Center is a work of art as well and full of mementos of this special place. Tickets for the tour are available in advance and there are several options for the length and scope of the tour. The tours don’t run in the Winter. This historical location is not to be missed and is worth a trip to Spring Green just for this tour! Next stop, Taliesin West !

Be sure google takes you to the visitor center and not the house. The visitor center was a great homage to Taliesin. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We bought tickets with a time slot the day before. We did the 1hr tour, you got see FLW’s main house. We were told the longer tours involved a lot of walking. The guide didn’t really touch upon the murders or reason for one of the fires. I also left a little disappointed in FLW, the ceilings had deflection, from what I can only guess is from poor design. Taliesin didn’t have the quality that we found at other FLW houses.

MAKE SURE TO GO TO THE VISITOR CENTER FIRST! Maps will take you to Taliesin itself, but the parking is at the visitor center across the street, and they take groups in via shuttle. The house is a beautiful example of FLW architecture, and a place where he and his family lived themselves, with lots of interesting history involved. Make sure to plan ahead, I arrived later in the day on a Sunday and only the last 1-hr house tour was available, so I had to wait around for about an hour before my tour. I imagine the longer the tour, the more you'll get out of it. It's expensive, but worth it.

Had a really great day at Taliesin! I did the 4h Estate Tour and the guide was fantastic. As a fan of FLLW and design, I loved being in a group of like minded folks exploring the epicenter of American architecture. For the casual visitor without a deep appreciation for this, I would suggest a shorter tour. Something for everyone!

Wonderful experience for learning about Wright's architecture. Stunning building. We took the 2 hour tour and our guide was outstanding!

Beautiful area, mostly informative. If you want a tour that paints FLW as a good and decent person, this is definitely the tour for you. If you're hoping for a factual retelling of his life, including the darker relevant bits, you'll be sorely disappointed.

The Estate Tour is well worth the time and money, and the lush landscape here is incredible. Bill is an extremely kind and knowledgeable guide. We loved every minute of it!

Wright's home, touchstone, and equal parts good and tragic memories. A place every architect must visit during their lifetime.

Had the pleasure of taking the 4 hour estate tour today. Totally worth the price for what you get to see! The time flew by. Chris was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable. His background information and stories really made for a rich experience.
