Go, take a picture of the view, a picture of yourself with the town on the back, buy a drink if you feel embarrassed, and go back to town. Service and food are horrendous, and expensive. View, place, and drinks are really good.

This restaurant used to be incredible. A new owner took over and now it is the WORST in the city. Slow service. Horrible food. Incredibly high prices. And don’t get me wrong, I’ll pay anything for great food. However, when street food is better, why spend hundreds of dollars on sub-street level quality? Stay far away!

Short: Amazing view, horrible customer service, really small bathroom and without water at the time I was there. We read a lot of bad comments about customer services and food quality before we get there, but we wanted live the experience of go there and see the amazing view. For this reason, we ate at another place and then go there just for drinks and desserts. After 10 minutes, nobody comes to our table yet, we had a reservation, so my partner went to the ladies bathroom and when she comes back, she says that there was not water in the bathroom, what the bathroom is a chaos. I didn't put much attention on it, I thought that was a temporary issue affecting just women bathroom. After 25 or 30 minutes being there, yet, not body comes to our table yet to take our order or just ask if everything is ok, our table was in a very visible place and it was for 5 person, our group was of 4. We were not so much surprised and we take it relax because the feedbacks that we read before about customer service and long waiting to get the food. Anyway, there weren't any special activity or event, just many customers but the place didn't see so full, so I stand up to go to the bathroom to put fresh water in my face. Oh surprise, a small bathroom for mens, maybe there only two people can be there at time, but for privacy, just one should be there. And guess what? not water yet! I saw two small bottle of water near to the hand washing, I think the personal leave them there to try help with the situation. That was enough for me, I leave the bathroom, back to my group in the table, of course, nobody comes yet, and I say to my group, we are leaving, if they don't have water for the bathrooms, they don't have water to wash their hand and prepare food. So, we leave the place and nobody ask us why we were leaving and the valet parking didn't look surprised why we leave so soon, were I guess that for him 30 minutes was not so soon.

Food all around was horrible! You go there for the view of Jarabacoa. I had the octopus a la Gallega, a large piece of octopus with the sauce on top, and a horrible presentation with no flavor. We asked for bread, we received white slice bread, like we were making a sandwich. Burgers were over cooked and the steak was overdone. We complained to management and pretty much they accepted but no type of credit what's so ever. Very overpriced for what you get. Will not be back. Great views, that's what you pay for. By the way, don't ask for the Hammock/Swing that is advertised, it doesn't exist. I asked the server and she didn't know where the pic came from. Lol.

This restaurant is quite pricey, and they sell you the location not so much the food. The food quality did not match their prices. There were four of us and each order had an issue. The steak was burnt, the risotto was too dry, etc. The best of our experience there was the service, which was great, and of course the views.

The place it self is beautiful the views are amazing but sadly the food is bland the service was horrible we waited about 2.5 hours to have our food brought to the table and when it was brought they didn’t bring the utensils and when asked they took really long to bring them the only thing that was good was the drinks and the views other than that I do not recommend the food and the prices are high basically you pay for the views

The reviews we read before going were spot-on. The food is below average and it doesn't have to be. They charge A LOT of money for subpar fare and count on you being happy because of the view. If you want the view... go, have a drink, but don't waste your money on the food. Read the other reviews.

The place is excellent. You are going to be enjoying a great view of the city of Jarabacoa. The quality of the food is top notch. The waiters were very polite and were always checking if we needed anything. It might be cold up there (is up in a montain after all) but staff can provide you with blankets. The prices are on the higher end of the spectrum but it's completely worth it.

View is an amazing top noch restaurant. Food drinks and appetizers are very good quality. A must visit if only once. Please make sure you bring plenty of money. The service and food are worth it.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Jamaca de Dios. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. The level of service was truly amazing, as they went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. It’s rare to find such a combination of great food and outstanding service. You must try the Ossobuco. We can’t wait to visit again.

View 👍🏼 but food 👎🏼. We all had great expectations but wow, but could it be that all 7 of us ordered wrong? Impossible. We had churrasco (actually decent) , bandeja paisa, rack of lamb, and chicharrones de pollo. Food is mediocre at best in my opinion, but honestly not worth the prices. The most expensive early dinner that $275 can buy. Definitely not worth it. I would rather pay a fee for the view and enjoy a bottled soda as not even the natural juices were good and then head back into town to have some authentic food from this region. Sorry, just being honest.

This place needs to start closing later. Also as a regular patron I felt as if the restaurant could have done better when I made our server know that we were celebrating our anniversary. Otherwise excellent decor, food, and atmosphere.

You must visit la Jamaca de Dios otherwise your Jarabacoa experience won't be complete. Beautiful place, great food. Our favorite were: croquetas de Chorizo, picadera Mar y tierra. If lucky like us you'll be served by the Johan Flores. He is the best waitress anyone can asked for. Prices are on the high end but it's all worthy. I don't give this place 5 stars because the bathroom was messy and smelly, other than that everything was awesome.

The view is amazing. The food (that I had) was really good. Just a heads up...It's at the top of a mountain.

I went there with a few friends. The view is amazing 😍😍 but to be honest, I was expecting more on the 🥘. We ordered a Paella, which was too salty and the seafood wasn’t fresh, my friends plate were ok. We also ordered an avocado salad which was really good but overpriced in my opinion, $USD 15 for half of avocado when you can buy a whole avocado in the island for $USD 1.81 Would I go back? Maybe but I wont have so high expectations like I did this time.

Food is okay, prices are literally what you'd expect to pay for restaurants in America, but the views are incredible. The breath taking landscape alone makes the trip up the mountain worth it!

The best part in this restaurant are the views and the decor. You are basically paying for this. The food is very expensive. I would recommend for the experience.

Well, today’s service was just bad. I get one mistake but count with me: the first drinks service took almost as long as the food and one of the drinks even longer, soup served without a spoon that once requested I had to get up and get it myself, water was the same issue and in the end I didn’t t even get a pen to sign my check. All these things took at least 20 minutes. The guy didn’t even feel bad about it. Food ok. View spectacular. Service -1. Sincerely.

Loved it! Food was delicious, server were great. My coco loco was loaded. The only exception is that they only had President light in a can...not my choice for this category of restaurant...in a can Nevertheless highly recomended!

Very very beautiful view, not to miss !!!!! It's a bit of a steep hill but all worth the drive. The restaurant is a bit pricy and was empty. They have wheelchair access. The bathroom was very clean. The service in the beginning was a bit slow but then the waitress came and apologised. Then was very quick. Very nice, clean and organised

My husband and I went on a Thursday night around 8pm and the restaurant was almost empty. The view was amazing, ambiance was great including the music and the food was very good. The price point is pretty high for two entrees and two drinks it was over 100 USD. Great for a fancy night out as long as you are ok with the price point.

This place is really awesome with the view of the city. However, the restaurant supposed to be the crown jewel of culinary experience. I order a chivo and I was served the scraps and the white rice was of poor quality with blackheads all over the rice. Upon bringing it up to management they said any returns regardless of the reason would be charged to the waitress which to me was abominable. I would say keep your money and go go another restaurant such as Cafe Colao which as awesome dishes and the staff is amazing. This place is overpriced and overrated.

The place is excellent, very good food. It is very expensive, but the view is second to none. Do not forget your identification (identity card or passport) to enter the place.

I got a coco loco, and my friend got Bahama mama. all yummy. but very slow service . they were polite and professional. I didn't have any food bc they took too long. had one drink and left.

The place is beautiful by nature. The food is very expensive. We were 6 people and the food was 22,000. Pesos. All the food we ordered were cold and had no taste. No one liked the food.. The salmon was bitter and we couldn't eat it. Even the desert had a funny taste. The only nice thing there is the view.

We traveled so far to this amazing place thinking we would have an experience. Unfortunately, we found hair in our food and one of our dishes was over cooked and felt fake. The worst part was the waiters response to our concern. The waiter and the head waiter were unprofessional and careless of hair in our food and the one of our plates over cooked. Nevertheless, two of our dish were delicious and we understand that many things happen in a kitchen. However, the careless behavior of the waiters was more disappointing. As we were exiting this amazing place the hostess asked why we were leaving early and we explained the situation. The owner apologized and was surprised with the unprofessional attitude of the waiters. I hope one day I can come back and have a better experience because the view is breathtaking.

I drove an hour and half for over priced food. The service was good but not attentive. They brought one set of napkins out for table of 10 people like they were running low on supplies. The atmosphere was more oriented for a high end date night more than anything else. The food quality to price just didn't line up. I ordered a strawberry juice that tasted like water and the food was ok at best. If you been to an all you can eat buffet in a resort it would be equivalent to that. I'm only giving it two stars because of the views if not it would have one. But the view.... The view almost made up for the food. The upper level of the restaurant even has a turn table style floor that gives you a view of the valley below and it looks like a dream up there. Great for taking pictures and Instagram post if your into that sort of thing.

One of my favorite locations by far! Breathtaking views, excellent service staff and an above average selection of spirits. This place makes for an amazing date. I would give this place a full five stars if the ball wasn’t dropped with the quality and presentation of the food. Had various items from the menu as per usual in order to present an honest review and I have to say this place you don’t visit for the food as much as the experience.

  • 3/5 Jorge C. 1 year ago on Google
It is a great place with an awesome view. Yet, the food was not that good. The service was inadequate, and not knowledgeable. And the price was extremely high in relation to the quality of the food and service. You are only paying for the view.

My husband and I decided to go to this place for the views and scenery and also for some dinner. We arrived and the area was beautiful! The view overlooking Jarabacoa was beautiful! However, the restaurants, food, experience was horrible. Please do not go. From the food, prices, hospitality was all very bad. We ordered a vegetarian plate, which the waiter told us that it was rice. Once he received the food, it was a plate of noodles and four pieces of wet, soft tofu, which, as soon as I put it in my mouth I had to spit it out. After that experience, we decided to get the bill and leave, mentioning to the manager that we received bad food, and that the drinks were fine with the main course was horrible and we had to spit it out. The manager then told me that it was fine to pay the bill and leave without paying for the main course. Once the bill came, we were still charged for the main course. The manager then ran away, and we waited until she came back and return the money because we weren’t leaving. Please do not go!
