Certainly! Shyam Kund, located in the town of Govardhan, is a revered and sacred site that holds significant importance for devotees of Lord Krishna. The main attraction of Shyam Kund is the sacred pond that is believed to have been created by Lord Krishna himself. It is said that Krishna held up the Govardhan Hill on his little finger to provide shelter to the villagers during a storm. The water that flowed from his hand formed this serene and beautiful pond, known as Shyam Kund. The pond is considered to possess divine properties, and devotees come from far and wide to take a dip in its sacred waters. Efforts are made to ensure the area is well-maintained, and facilities such as seating areas and resting places are provided for the convenience of visitors. The "Shyam Kund" is a holy pond near the temple from where the 'Sheesh' of baba shyam came out. In this kund devotees take bath and do worship of khatu naresh. The Gopinath temple lies to the south-east of the main temple. The Gaurishankar temple also lies nearby.

After Krishna created and bathed in Radha kund, Radha Rani also wanted to dig a pond for her and did it with her bracelet. When not even a single drop of water was manifested in the kunda Shri Krishna signaled all the holy places to again enter in Shri Radha Raniโ€™s Kunda in the water form. Thus bothย kundsย consists of the most sacred water of the world and are in their purest form even today.

Shyam Kund, located near the Govardhan Hill in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, India, is a significant pilgrimage site for devotees of Lord Krishna. As per Hindu mythology, it is believed that this kund (pond) was created by Lord Krishna himself, making it a spiritually charged and revered site for millions. The legends associated with Shyam Kund are deep-rooted in the stories of Lord Krishna's divine play (leelas). It is believed that after Lord Krishna defeated the serpent demon Kaliya, He washed off the poison in this kund. Hence, taking a dip in Shyam Kund is considered to be spiritually purifying, with many believing it washes away one's sins and brings blessings. Shyam Kund, with its serene waters surrounded by aged trees and the backdrop of the Govardhan Hill, provides a peaceful environment for reflection and meditation. The soft chants of mantras, the soothing sounds of temple bells, and the serene atmosphere amplify the spiritual experience for visitors. Festivals like Janmashtami (Lord Krishna's birthday) and Govardhan Puja see an increased influx of devotees, bringing the entire area alive with processions, chants, and special rituals. Local residents are welcoming and often share stories and legends associated with the site, providing deeper insights into its historical and spiritual significance.

Very well maintained as far as cleanliness is concerned. Divya's should be discouraged as the water has become oily. Perhaps it could be placed in some other place.
