This is one of the most well known church and the oldest Christian church in Semarang. Also called as "Gereja Blenduk/Church Blenduk", it is such a wonderful classic masterpiece. The shape of the building (neo-classic style) makes us remember to the church in Europe. The church is currently active and well-maintained. It also has baroque organ that inactive because of the unavailable parts. Good for selfie, and adjacent to Srigunting Park that makes the place comfortable.

Gereja Blenduk is considered to be a landmark in Semarang. Old yet iconic and historical. It used to be a Dutch church and up until now it is still operating. Open for public to visit but also open for Sunday Mass. Located at the heart of Semarang Old Town. The building is still properly maintained. The style is very 'Dutch'. Come in the morning for a great view and less crowded for photo session.

This Protestant Church is actually still being operated every week for praying purpose but if you want to come and visit, you need to pay for charity for about 10,000 IDR/person. There wasn't many room of this place that we can visit due to security reasons, still seems like another church supposed to be, the difference is only about the architecture of the building.

GPIB Immanuel Semarang (Blenduk Church) is the oldest Christian Church in Central Java, which was built by the Dutch people who lived in the city in 1753, with an octagonal shape (square eight). This church has a large dome covered in bronze, and inside it has a Baroque organ. The architecture inside is based on the Greek cross. This church was renovated in 1894 by W. Westmaas and H.P.A. de Wilde, who added the two towers in front of this church building. The name Blenduk is a nickname from the local community which means dome. This church is still used every Sunday.

GPIB Semarang is a dutch heritage Church which now functions as tourist destination. Located in Kota Lama Semarang area, it is very well managed and preserved. I dont think visitors can easily walk in, so only see it from outside. The place has many good spots for taking pictures, and it looks good both at daylight and night.

(Translated by Google) An icon of the Old Semarang City. Of all the ancient buildings that have survived, this white church building looks the most beautiful cum alluring to be immortalized in a photo frame. On the other hand, the history that accompanies it is no less interesting to learn. History records that the church was built in 1753, in the form of a Javanese stilt house complete with a roof with a Javanese style architecture. In 1787 the house on stilts was completely overhauled. Seven years later, in 1894, this building was rebuilt by H.P.A de Wilde and Westemas. The church has undergone 3 renovations in total, namely in 1753, 1894 and the last one in 2003. The architectural design is really in accordance with the concept of Neo Classical art, with a large organ that unfortunately cannot be used anymore. Blenduk itself in Javanese is round, the concept of the dome of this church is round. And this concept is part of the concept of the old European Churches. Blenduk Church has a regular octagonal or octagonal plan with the main room in the middle, just below the dome. In the building of the church, on the balcony, to be precise, the organ (organ) from the Dutch era is hundreds of years old. Even though it has been established thousands of years ago, Blenduk Church is still active in serving the worship of Protestants in Semarang and its surroundings. Now, along with the revitalization of Kota Lama, I hope the Blenduk Church will be preserved. Kini seiring dg revitalisasi yg Kota Lama, semoga kelestarian Gereja Blenduk makin terjaga.

The church stands majestically under the sun... you can't miss it. Make sure you get an Instagrammable worthy shot in front of the church. After that, be sure to take a stroll across the streets admiring the ancient city. The roads, lamps, buildings - are colonial Dutch era that makes you think you are in an European town!

This is the most iconic church around Semarang. It was built in the Dutch Imperialism time , but still standing right now in the northern part of overall Semarang City. Place is well known as a landmark. You can pretty much find motorcycle or car parking spots in anywhere nearby to visit, there are no direct spot here. Building is definitely well maintained, inside and outside, and well kept. The surrounding, it has a small park, and around there it's mostly cafe nowadays. If you like to take photos , you can just go here and take photos as you like. There are always a good surrounding here.

The brick-red dome is on top of the clean white building. Blenduk Church or GPIB Immanuel Church in Semarang was built in 1753 and is one of the oldest Christian churches in the country. Originally built by the Portuguese then added here and there by the Dutch so that the shape is what it is today. The architecture is neat with an old style but different from the other old church buildings. The building has a hexagon that looks beautiful, especially when viewed from above. On the inside, it is no less neat, the rows of ancient chairs, ceramics and pipe organs still look well preserved. Therefore, this church is a protected building as a cultural heritage. In front of the church, there is a cool Srigunting garden which is perfect for relaxing for a while while enjoying the culinary delights around this area. In addition, after leaving Blenduk Church, you can further explore other spots in the Kota Lama Semarang area.

(Translated by Google) History of Blenduk Church Semarang Blenduk Semarang Church is a church that was built in 1753 and is one of the landmarks in the Old City. Different from other buildings in the Old City which generally fence off the road and do not accentuate the shape, this Neo-Classical style building actually appears in contrast. The shape is more prominent. The location of this building is on Jalan Letjend Suprapto No 32 Kota Lama Semarang and is named the GPIB Immanuel Church. The church building which is now a sprawling building with a single facade is vertically divided into three parts. The number of floors is two. This building faces south. This church is still used for worship every Sunday. Around this church there are also a number of other buildings from the Dutch colonial period such as the Marba Building. This ancient building is also often one of the places for pre-wedding photos. The Protestant Church which is commonly called the Blenduk Church, this name is given tracing the shape of its dome which in Javanese is called Blenduk (bulging), until now the original name of this church is unknown. Initially the church was built in 1753, in the form of a Javanese stilt house, with a roof with a Javanese style architecture. In 1787 the house on stilts was completely overhauled. The next seven years there were changes. In 1894, this building was rebuilt by H.P.A. de Wilde and W. Westmas. This church was built in the 17th century and has undergone 3 renovations, namely in 1753, 1894 and finally in 2003. Each renovation is immortalized by the inscription on the marble that is installed under the alter church. The renovations did not change the characteristics of the building which adopted the elegant and aristocratic classical European architectural style. Blenduk Church has a regular octagonal or octagonal plan with a main hall in the center, just below the dome. At the top of the church, on the balcony you can still see the organ (organ) from the Dutch era which is hundreds of years old. Unfortunately, this organ can no longer function as an accompaniment when the church congregation sings.
