Back in late 90s this place was an underground place for artist, activist, journalist who seek the freedom of expression and the freedom of speech during the new order regime in Indonesia. There's a small theater building, a gallery and a cafe. Nowadays They offer a lot of discussion, philosophy classes and literary program. The cafe remains simple and charming, the food is good and the price are moderate.

Nice and cozy meeting place just 3 minutes walking from BNPB. The food, the location, and the ambience is just right whether it is a formal or informal meeting.

The Utan Kayu Community was founded in January 1995 with various media and human rights organizations. In the middle of the yard there is Kedai Tempo. It is a popular place for artists, activists, journalists and academics. The place is relaxed, people can chat and join the various tables available.

A week ago there's sains underground so i came here with my lover. The place is become one with the Kedai Tempo because the discussion take time at night we haven't eat dinner and it's impossible to eat heavy food in the middle of discussion. So we ordered French fries(22K), and Bakwan Jagung(18K) i almost though that it's impossible to eat with good portion usually they will serve small portion. But what comes suprised me the portion is big and the fries isn't slim it is thicker than usual, the bakwan jagung also taste heavenly good. I almost forgot that we're in the middle of discussion of Kosmos by Carl Sagan 😁 but the place is nice the room also have an AC so it's not hot. We're completely okay with the surroundings

It used to be an underground place for some activist and artist . A place that maintains freedom of expression and freedom of speech. It has a very nice cafe with some Indonesian food like Tongseng, nasi goreng, sup Buntut etc. A cute semi outdoor cafe tucked in the Utan Kayu street in East Jakarta.

The ambience and atmosphere is definitely something else. A very spacious design, they do have an indoor ac room if its too hot outside. Food taste and quality is good and very price friendly. A great place if you have events to plan for office or even parties.
