Diving on your Bucket List? Do IT! Dana and Paul were incredible every step of the way. I wanted to get certified for years and finally did and I can't believe I waited so long. This shop will make you feel welcome, will answer all of your questions and make sure that you are both comfortable and safe! They have a great rental program so you can try out different types of gear and they will advise you along the way so you end up getting what really works and is personalized for you. The staff is well qualified and top notch! The shop has everything you need. The community of divers affiliated with the shop are welcoming and friendly. A Perfect Ten!

Sea Shanty is ridiculously awesome in so many way. The owner and staff make you feel welcome. They are able to answer any questions. They have everything you need for diving: equipment, lessons, planning. Plus they have fun knickknacks, retro bathing suits, gifts, etc. The owner and staff are involved in community affairs all the way from keeping the lakes clean to other activities as supplies and swim lessons to underprivileged children, pet adoption , Art walk, Music...just to name a few.

My sister was visiting Norman and was looking for a band for a snorkel mask. We stopped at the Sea Shanty and what a lovely surprise. This very unique store has EVERYTHING for the diver/snorkeler: quaint, VERY uniquely decorated and with super duper friendly staff: on this day we had the pleasure of working with Dana Drake. They also had the most unique kitty I have ever seen: actually known as a "Shark Kitty" - both Precious and Priceless. I am not sure if this forum accepted my photo of the Shark Kitty; therefore if it is NOT showing up here; please go read my Sea Shanty review on YELP as it will likely be in a format that can post on that site. Very nice shop! In closing, they also gave me and my sister a really cool sticker: I promptly put this on my car and will probably smile ear-to-ear every time I see it! P.s. for anyone wondering: I selected "professional" above as the other options were presented in French...."professional" was the only one in English therefore I selected that one. Hopefully that selection and my 5 stars will equate to an "as good as it get's" review.

Wonderful dive shop with several experienced instructors. I’ve completed several certifications through them and always feel well supported and confident in the instruction. I have used Sea Shanty for a long time and it is the best Dive Shop ever. I have bought alot of equipment from Dana and she always helps me to get the equipment that works best for me. Dana always makes sure to followup and make sure everything is working properly. Dana and her staff always has a friendly face and welcomes me in the door. I have been diving since 1982 and have seen alot of Dive Shops but non compare to Dana and her staff. So shop SEA SHANTY, it's the best!!!!!

Dana and the rest of the Sea Shanty staff are incredible. They helped my two daughters and me get certified and I’d recommend them for anyone wanting to go through open water or other certification, or to buy gear.

came in to get more information about diving and left signing up for the basic diver course. upon completion of that course when inquiring about future training was given information and encouragement to further my diving certifications which i find is awesome to be a safer and more knowledgeable diver. The owner Dana is very understanding and will work with you on a day or days to get your pool dives in like she did with me.. once you get to the open water dives dana has very knowledgeable divemaster's like Ricky and Paul who accompanies on your dives and they care about your safety and wellbeing. 10/10 would recommend any of my friends to the this dive shop due to the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.

This is a great little dive shop. The staff is always friendly and attentive. They are willing to go out of their way to accommodate for difficult schedules (when taking classes). I would highly recommend this shop. *UPDATE* Sea Shanty went above and beyond to accommodate a friend and I that wanted to get a Nitrox course underway before an upcoming trip. They came in early on New Year's Eve morning to do a class for us! Their customer service is out of this world and their prices are great too.

Best dive shop and swim school in Oklahoma! Dana is a very knowledgeable and patient instructor and specializes in working with people that are nervous or afraid of the water. She will make you feel comfortable, and most importantly make it fun! They have a great gear selection, and cute vintage style swimsuits. Check them out!

Sea Shanty is sooo awesome!!! It is one of the only shops in OK that carry 1950's style swimsuits. I bought a leopard one, and I absolutely love it! It also has, get this, mermaid tails that you can put your feet in and swim like a mermaid!!! The tails are high quality too. The shop carries scuba equipment and rents paddle boards too as well as book trips and tours. The owner, Dana Drake, is a very sweet and knowledgeable lady that will help you plan any adventure you want. I am booking my Day of the Dead adventure in Mexico with her!!! Sea Shanty is an awesome little shop, but be warned that the travel bug might bite you as soon as you walk in the door! They've got some adorable merch (and scuba gear!), amazing atmosphere, and the owner Dana's passion for travel is contagious! Absolutely worth checking out.

Sea Shanty is one of my all time favorite PADI dive shops! Dana and Paul and the rest of her crew are so welcoming, helpful and all around good hearted people who love to teach people how to be safe divers! We also like to have fun under the water as well! Sea Shanty offers a wide variety of dive gear, and if they don’t have it they will order it for you right on the spot. I always recommend my friends to go check out Sea Shanty in Norman if they have the urge to try out scuba diving!!

Sea Shanty is the best place to learn scuba diving! The organized trips are fun and are a nice getaway for a bit to explore underwater! Their vacation packages are also amazing and lots of fun. Don’t be afraid, jump in!

My family and I had an incredible experience learning to scuba dive at Sea Shanty Scuba & Swim. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed and at ease, thanks to the exceptional training provided by our PADI instructor, Dana. Dana went above and beyond, especially when it came to working with our youngest son, who was just 10 years old at the time of certification. Her patience and skill in teaching made the learning process enjoyable for him, and we felt confident in the safety measures implemented throughout the course. As a person who struggles with anxiety, I was initially apprehensive about scuba diving. However, Dana's calming presence and understanding nature made all the difference. She took the time to address my concerns, providing reassurance and guidance every step of the way. Her support played a crucial role in helping me overcome my anxieties and fully enjoy the experience. My husband and our oldest son started their first scuba course in 2019 with Dana to prepare for a Boy Scout High Adventure Camp called Sea Base located in Florida. Dana trained them and also many other scouts and leaders at that time. A short time after that trip, my husband and oldest son took additional courses with Dana, and their enthusiasm about the training speaks volumes. They were not only impressed with her expertise but also appreciated the personalized attention and focus on skill development. The overall atmosphere at Sea Shanty Scuba & Swim is warm and friendly, creating a sense of community among divers. The equipment is well-maintained, and the facilities are top-notch from their store in Norman to their training area in Texas at the Scuba Ranch.
