My mom, aunt, and I had our first Hanok stay at Salangroo and were so pleased with the experience. The owners could not speak English, so they prepared a written document with helpful instructions for our visit. We stayed in a four-person suite which was very neat, and serene. The bedding though thin, was comfortable and clean. (You can request additional bedding for a small fee but we were all okay for one night). It got a bit cold at night but the floor heaters helped to warm us up. The best part about our stay was the location; it’s located on the south edge of Jeonju’s Hanok Village, away from all the shops, so it was a really quiet sleep. I highly recommend anyone visiting to stay here!

In general, our traditional Hanok accommodation was a delightful experience. The heated floors and comfortable futon provided a cozy setting. While we weren't certain if we could manage staying in this type of accommodation for a whole week, it was just perfect for a few days. Additionally, the location was ideal as it was within close proximity to numerous shops and restaurants.

Very traditional aesthetic, futon are unusual for us (European) but we sleept like babies!!! Comfy small room with private bathroom and beautiful surroundings. I suggest to take a room with this very kind host and enjoy the city around!!!

Great place to stay in case you visit junju. The room was clean and well heated during winter. It was a good experience. Plus it's in the village and only few mins away from every thing you need.

I had a great time staying here (party of 2), the Balcony room was beautiful and had two separate spaces, one for sleeping and the other with a small wood table and cushions that we played boardgames on. The hosts are lovely and prepare breakfast in the shared dining area (eggs, toast and fruit, you help yourself). They also gave us an extra futon (for a small charge) as 1 was a little too hard for us. The pillows are also filled with grain like a wheat bag, so bring your own if you prefer a soft pillow. The location is also great, outside of the busier part of the village. We did get woken by birdsong at 7 am, however earplugs prevented this the next morning, it is also quiet time after 10pm to prevent disturbing other guests sleep. Lastly the rooms have underfloor heating and keep you very warm on cold nights!

Great traditional hanok stay super close to the Jeonju main attractions! I loved my room and the breakfast was great! The hosts were also very helpful. My only complain is that you could hear everything since the rooms are old style... But as expected from a traditional house.

Stayed there last year. Good value, location and friendly owners. Sarang-ru offers a unique experience into the post-war countryside homes. This is not for everyone and can be uncomfortable to some. Very cozy and different, so definitely not for those looking for something fancy or standard. Not very spacious but the ceiling is reasonably high. Bathroom does not have a separate bath area. You get to sleep on the floor over a futon and the pillows are also traditional. If you don’t like hard mattresses and/or pillows this is not for you. Quiet, peaceful neighbourhood. Location is great as the center of the town is 15ish minutes walk if you want to see anything there. Saw many other places in near the center and I would not want to stay there. The owner did let us know things get louder on weekends. I would still think it’s a lot better than the high traffic areas. Overall, would recommend this place to people who are on a budget, want a new experience and don’t mind something more retro/traditional. It’s also super fun to learn the quirks of the room, but won’t give away any spoilers.

They were very accommodating to us and helped us alot during our stay. Rooms are basic but that's what you get for the price. Otherwise very clean and good location

Lovely stay in a traditional hanok on the southern edge of Jeonju's hanok village. Very simple room, sleeping on the heated floor with a comfortable mat and sheets, and a simple adjacent bathroom. Very nice and kind owners who lovingly prepared breakfast very early in the morning, ready for guests to consume as soon as they wake up.

Stayed one night with my family. It was an outstanding place. Very kind owner. Breakfast was great. The cafe where breakfast was served was awesome, too. I would totally go back.

First of all the owners there are soo nice and accomodating. They will help with almost everything, just be polite and you get double that back. The place is very near to night markets and hanok village center literally 5 mins walk. Transport cart hire very near here. Breakfast was simple but good , their cafe is amazing, so serene! Getting there is super easy and taxi brings you to the door step. Although those who arent use to the futon style bedding, might find it a bit hard to sleep, again ask for more beddings . The rooms are quite cosy and secure. Although the walls are thin but its a given with such traditional style houses. Overall, really enjoyed the stay here.

πŸ‘ This place looks amazing. Traditional looking houses but very modern rooms. The only negative was the lack of an English manual/explanation of the room and its features. The WiFi signal dropped from time to time.
