Positive
stay
by
the
end.
Checked
in
as
a
diamond
select
member
with
Best
Western
(only
stayed
here
because
of
status)
and
was
not
immediately
offered
a
room
upgrade
or
early
checkin.
When
I
insisted
on
early
checkin
they
magically
had
a
room
available
but
I
would
not
be
getting
an
upgraded
room.
Okay,
no
problem.
We
just
wanted
to
freshen
up.
The
staff
speak
English
fairly
well
to
communicate
basics
so
that
wasnโt
a
problem.
We
entered
the
room
and
the
temperature
was
86
degrees!
We
requested
a
fan
which
helped
circulate
the
hot
air,
and
then
found
you
could
open
the
windows
our
second
night
for
some
cooler
air.
The
windows
have
screens
you
can
pull
down
which
help
prevent
mosquitos
from
entering.
I
was
surprised
how
warm
the
rooms
are
kept
with
the
heaters
on
constantly.
They
insist
they
are
saving
energy
by
keeping
the
AC
off
during
the
winter,
but
I
would
imagine
keeping
rooms
this
hot
would
cause
much
more
energy
concerns!
Donโt
bother
with
breakfast
as
they
charge
extra
for
this
and
there
are
plenty
of
breakfast
options
nearby.
Definitely
visit
the
Hanok
village
thatโs
within
20
minutes
walking
while
visiting.
We
enjoyed
our
walks
to
the
village
downtown,
but
we
could
see
others
that
may
not
enjoy
having
to
walk
that
far.
The
old
market
is
literally
next
to
the
Best
Western
with
a
ton
of
shops
and
food
spots.
Expect
to
struggle
if
you
donโt
speak
any
Korean
at
some
of
the
more
authentic
spots,
but
bringing
a
translate
app
like
Papago
can
help.
Also
if
youโre
a
fan
of
the
fried
dough
with
cinnamon
sugar
and
nuts
(hotteok)
be
sure
to
check
out
the
place
that
sells
them
for
1500
won
each
near
Gyeonggijeon.
