This hotel offered overnight refuge to our daughter and their friends last night after a wildfire broke out close to our house just outside the village. A number of houses were evacuated. We thank you both, Maurice and Paul, for your extraordinary act of kindness 🧡🧡

Beautiful stay at Almijara Residence. Paul & Maurice have done a brilliant job making the hotel what it is today. The service we received was outstanding, nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were very clean and decorated beautifully. The roof terrace was stunning with a honesty bar, and a cracking view overlooking Plaza Almijara. Not forgetting the incredible breakfasts, very tasty and fresh. All restaurants and bars are within walking distance, so you are spoilt for choice with food options. We would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return Thanks Guys

Superb place to stay in Competa. Bright, clean rooms with excellent attention to detail from the very friendly and helpful host Maurice. Abounds with nice touches such as local sherry in the room to welcome you, amazing delicious and inventive breakfasts, comfy bed, great bathroom, nice views over the town and absolutely central location. I'd certainly hope to stay at the Almijara again on future visits.

Absolutely fantastic. Overlooking the main plaza in a lovely village. Our room was clean and comfortable, our hosts welcoming and very helpful, the breakfasts… a thing of beauty! Well worth visiting if you want to realx away from it all.

Easy to see how and why Paul and Maurice achieved the best hotel in Spain title. Asolutely fabulous place and service. My room looked out onto the lively plaza but even so, the room was quiet and I slept like a baby. The terrace with the honesty bar is a really cool touch and also the perfect place to enjoy the delicious home-cooked breakfast. Highly recommended!

The location was central and the place was inviting with extremely gracious hosts who went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. We hadn’t mentioned it was a birthday get away and we were surprised when we saw a “happy birthday banner” and a cake and candle served at the breakfast table! We can highly recommend the Almijara Residence and the beauty surrounding the town.

There are people who are fans of breakfasts. There are hotels or restaurants where you can enjoy the best and most variable breakfasts. This hotel has one of the coolest breakfasts and I believe it will get into the short list of the hotels with the best breakfasts worldwide. And if you add to it outstanding service and unbelievable location - it means you, breakfasts lovers and high taste people, have to spend several nights in this hotel. The best service and personal approach to each guest is guaranteed. Of course if you are a good guest too 🙂 we are so grateful to Paul and Maurice for amazing time and cool moments. Excellent place, everything is quality, from the exceptional breakfast to the amazing terrace which has a great view of the plaza below. It is the perfect spot as it is close to some great restaurants and also for getting around the village. The hosts Paul and Maurice make you feel at home immediately. Well done guys.
