Excellent place to feel youre back home in Dominican Republic. The food is excellent and the employees make you feel comfortable and welcome. Service is good! Best tres golpes ever and the carne guisada the best!

I used to go to Karina’s often. Great food! After today’s experience, I’m frustrated and disappointed. I purchased 4 rotisserie chickens because I had family coming over. I found several pieces under cooked. (About 8 pieces) I called and they acted like they didn’t understand me (btw I was speaking Spanish) they transferred the call to a woman to answered the phone in English “What’s the problem?” They offered to give me my money back if I returned the chicken. That doesn’t solve my issue of having a house full of people. They were not apologetic. In fact she told me it may look pink but that’s okay. Since when is pink/undercooked chicken okay? I’ve had good experiences in the past, this one hit a nerve. I won’t be back for a while.

Yesterday I ordered fried chicken for a family event via delivery. When it arrived the chicken was dry and hard. Pieces were so small like they cut thighs into 2. Very very disappointing 🤬

The food is at most decent. Extremely oily and they are cheap with portions, but not prices. I’ve been ordering here for a while - and to be honest - should have stopped a long time ago when I realized the food quality was not great. Old food sneaked into new food like someone wouldn’t notice. Rice has been hard, clumpy, and even sour at times. Meats have been religiously overly oily and under seasoned. Not even comparable to NYC Spanish restaurants. To add insult to injury; the women in there have TERRIBLE attitudes and are very unorganized. With as many people that are behind the counter, you would think they would have figured out a role to each person to ease the flow instead of having attitudes because they are overwhelmed (and again with that many people behind the counter, how???) during peak times. I called to place an order got left on hold while other people were calling in and I had a chance to hear their orders being taken. When I called back after several minutes of sitting on a very noisy hold, I let her know I didn’t appreciate the customer service, the lady sucked her teeth and thinks I didn’t understand her insulting me in Spanish. It’s a hit or miss with this place. And this miss definitely made this place lose a loyal customer. Do better.

Being a frequent patron of this particular business means absolutely nothing if you’re not Latino/a. Some of these reviewers have to be absolutely fake to boost their rating because there is nothing 5 star about this business. I’ve watched them give out free food daily to people of their own kind but will stand firm on a 5.00 minimum when your order comes up only .75 cents short. But behold this: once they run your card it adds taxes that will bring your order total up at least a dollar which they are very aware of. Imagine adding things you don’t want to your order just because they are not willing to respect your frequent patronage. Their attitudes are DISGUSTING if you’re not one of them. I’ve had way better food but being that this is one of the only restaurants in the area, it’s hard to completely avoid when looking for a quick meal. They recycle old hard rice and old meat all the time. It’s absolutely noticeable in how quickly the food spoils once you bring it home. Despite all this, I continue coming here once again out of convenience. No matter how many times I patronize this business weekly I am always met with poor service and attitude which leaves a constant horrible impression of this business. If you’re not Latino, don’t expect good customer service

The food was good the service was ok because some just didn't understand English which was difficult but eventually the order was right

I'm never disappointed when I come here. The food is well seasoned. Always reasonable portions and they don't mind giving a little extra 😊. My favorite to go is the Beef Empanadas 🏅. Next best thing for a home cooked meal.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

We take out 1 pint beans , a lbs of grilled pork , yellow rice and plantain . We got home there is a few beans all sauce liquid and the pork is so dry out. Hard like gums when on your mouth. So I call the store . To let them know what happened. The lady on the phone say sorry. That’s it.

ITS NEVER FULLY COOKED OR TOO HARD PLUS NASTY . 🤮🤮🤢 They overcharge you when you use your card and they somehow can keep doing it . It happen 2 times to me .

If you're not Spanish they don't take care of you very well.. The food is high price other than other Spanish restaurants in the area

I got me some Monfongo with white rice and beans and the Monfongo was horrible. All dry and and big plaster of mixed bananas and dry chicken. That is not the way to make or even sell that. I will never buy that again horrible.

The service sucked but the food was actually really good. I wanted to return the next day for more but I didn't want to travel.

Karina's has been a fixture in Jersey City for decades. The food is delicious! Baked chicken, roasted pulls pork or some refried plantains it's all delicious.

Every time I go here I get a lot of food on my plate customer service could be better but they're great people. If you want a great tasting Latino place this is the place to get breakfast lunch and dinner.

These people have the nastiest food. A friend ordered food last evening 27th January for two and when it was delivered, it looked more like left over food. The food was very poorly arranged in clearly reused take away aluminum pans. Nothing looked right. It looked more like a dogs dinner. I was very disappointed having spent close to $45 on the order. Following from the number of negatively critical reviews here I cannot hesitate to recommend this restaurant delists itself from delivery apps till they have their act together.

My only complaint is when the food runs out. Get here early for the true full menu it's all delicious. The prices aren't bad either. Try the turkey wings or the stewed chicken you'll thank me later.

I order over the phone but when I got there wasn’t even ready then I give them my card and the guy swiped it I’m not sure what happened then he says I swiped it several times and it doesn’t go threw he said credit or debit I said credit then asked to verify my id shows proof , then he try’s again says there no money u need money u have to have money on the card telling me I don’t have any money customer behind me said how u gonna tell this young man he doesn’t have any money and then my card went threw some how and I told him don’t ever say that again u don’t even know me u sound crazy 🤦🏻‍♂️So basically something went wrong wit there server took long to process payment and he saying it’s my fault I need more money this that crazy 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Staffs are rude. I asked how to order the food on the buffet table. An annoyed lady said "whatever you want". Yes, I know that.... is there a special? Rice with chicken is how much? I mean... i ordered Rice + beef stew thing = $11.50. No way for me to know which one's how much. A man behind me ordered the same beef and they charged him $2.50. So the rice is 9 bucks??? Or if you are an asian they rip you off? I gave two stars because A) the food was alright and B) this is in a JC ghetto area. What do you expect.. right? . I won't recommend this place to my friends.

Very clean very well organized and pleasant people

This food is bad. At one time I gave them a 5 star review. It started with what I thought was a few off days here and there. I stopped going for a while because I was turned off. Every once in a while I'd have a craving and anytime I went and called myself giving another chance, it is worse than the last time. Salty, oily, too much vinegar, new rice on top of old rice. Had too many instances of the rice being old, hard and clumped together even sour tasting. I gave them way too many chances and I am done. I do not recommend.

My order was placed inside the restaurant and my service was quick and everything tasted so good. I definitely recommend Katrina's.
