I stayed here memorial day weekend with a friend. They were super friendly and the family who owns it was just perfect. They were funny and gave us a lot of freedom and didn’t barge into our rooms or over-treat us. It was extremely clean, and we are on the younger side so being a woman it was refreshing to have somewhere so safe. I 100% recommend for a quick shore trip with family or friends!!!!!

Not many amenities at the hotel, but it was clean and at a good location for the beach. The staff was very friendly. Parking is free for one car, but spaces are limited. several are partially blocked by pillars, so bring all your parking skills.

My dad has been staying at Tradewinds since the first year they opened 50+ years ago and I have been coming for 31 years now and it feels like a home away from home for our family! Tradewinds has evolved over the years and their most recent updates to the property look amazing! All while keeping its original charm. The staff is lovely, the beds are comfortable, rooms are clean and it is in such a prime location near the beach and some of our favorite local spots. Our family will be staying for years to come!

It's a motel, so utilitarian. But it's just a block from the beach. So, what more do you want. And, it's grasp on cleanliness is immaculate. Pricey. But, given location, you deal with it.

Been coming to the Tradewinds for 23 years. Beautiful clean, spacious rooms. Pool is clean and well mainted. Kind, friendly, courteous staff. A treasure in Lavalette!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this Jersey Shore gem. Clean rooms, perfect sized pool, location is awesome ( 1 block to the beach). You are not in the middle of the tourists but close enough to Pt. Pleasant or Seaside to get your fix. The staff is wonderful. My 5 year old locked the bathroom door twice and they were ready with the special key. We will always stay here when the Jersey shore is on our summer destination list. 😁

Cleanest family owned motel I've ever stayed at. Been coming here for years. Staff is great, very helpful. The place is SPOTLESS. Very well taken care of. All of the rooms are renovated since Hurricane Sandy. Has a great pool in front. Wifi as well. Great bakery next door, and a pizzeria and cafe across the street. Highly recommend this gem of a motel.

Always the best clean room and great staff

This place is a hidden treasure. My family of 5 rented 2 rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were very clean, had a modern HD TV mounted on the wall, and a separate small kitchen counter with sink and small frig (so you can bring lunch meat and bread and save money on lunch). Very reasonably priced. The staff was helpful and very friendly. We will stay here every time we vacation in Lavallette. Only drawback was the bath towels are very small and rough (next time I'm bringing my own bath towel). My kids hung at the pool on rainy days while we sat on the raised patio chilling. Great place! Highly recommend.

You would never guess it from the unassuming exterior, but this is a gem. Thanks to the devastation from hurricane Sandy, the rooms are all completely new, and done with very modern and tasteful decor. Two queen beds, a small table with two chairs, a dorm-size fridge, in-wall AC, and a normal size bathroom. The entry is nice tile that looks like blond wood slats, the carpet is neutral brown, the furniture is all dark espresso that looks like high-end Ikea stuff. Overall, my expectations were very low, but I am really surprised. This is a great way to do the beach for relatively cheap.

I can not say enough great things about Tradewinds. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The facility was extremely clean. Housekeeping couldn’t have been more on top of keeping our room tidy. Plenty of parking. The pool area was impeccable and maintained every day. The owners were on site talking with everyone and made sure our stay was flawless! We will absolutely be back!

What a nice weekend getaway at Tradewinds! It was the first time our family stayed there. Rooms were clean and a decent size. Location was just perfect. The beach was a block away and there were restaurants close by. We were able to walk everywhere. Seaside Heights boardwalk was just a few minutes away by car. Definitely would come back. thanks!

Our stay at The Tradewinds was wonderful! We were looking for a nice little getaway that was both affordable and convenient with respect to beach and restaurant accessibility. My family and I enjoyed our stay at Tradewinds. Tammy & Walt Sr greeted us with great hospitality. Walt even graced my family with his Trademark Jelly Donuts and just like Tammy, we will be forever connected to Tradewinds when visiting 'The Shore'. The rooms are clean and staff is helpful. From my Grandparents, to My Parents, then My Parents & I & now My Wife & our little girl have all stayed at The Tradewinds over the last 40 plus years & we will continue the family tradition. The fact the Tradewinds is still family owned & operated with the same care & passion will keep us coming back for years to come. It is the perfect lodge, in the picturesque little town of Lavalette. Being able to create new memories in the same place so many old ones were born is truly something amazing, if You enjoy the shore without the noise this is your home away from home.

I grew up on the Jersey Shore but never stayed at the Tradewinds. Memorial Day weekend was great here. Very clean … my husband checked the air filter of the air conditioner and it was pristine. It’s less than a block from the quiet clean beach. I highly recommend staying here!!!!

For a small independent family owned motel down the shore it sure is a nice one. Clean clean and friendly. Close proximity to beach and shops. Pool was clean. Nothing in rooms was broke or dirty. I would love to come stay again.

Not bad the rooms aren't terrible, the beds are kind of uncomfortable, but it's block away from the beach which is good.

If the Tradewinds is booked we change our vacation dates. The staff is amazing. from front office to housekeeping they are so accommodating. Rooms are always clean! Tammy and staff are always pleasant and helpful. We return to the Tradewinds year after year and we are never disappointed!

The Tradewinds is the only place we stay when we go down the Jersey shore. Everyone is so nice and the rooms are very clean. There is a nice sundeck as well as a pool on site. The beach is only a block away. We love it here. I had been coming down to the Tradewinds for years with my girlfriends. Now with my husband it is still my go to place at the shore.

stayed three nights at the Tradewinds Motor Lodge and loved it. The rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable. The owners, staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything is in good proximity to the motel. Bay on one side and the ocean on the other and both in walking distance. Loved it and will be going back next month. This could be our new yearly vacation spot.

Clean and friendly staff

Very clean and a great location. Had many great stays here over the past few years and would not go anywhere else when visiting the shore. Simply put I highly recommend staying here they have a lot of repeat customers for a reason.

i recently stayed at this hotel for 4 days, with 4 people. They only cleaned our room once, the lighting in our room was very dark, and we had a corner room, so there wasnt much sun light either. Beach access was difficult as 2 of us went to the beach earlier, and were not stopped and asked for a badge, when the other 2 came (myself included) we were stopped at the front entrance by someone with no identification questioning if we" belonged there at the beach" and tha we needed to show our beach access badges. Granted she "allowed us" access the beach when we offered her bug spray when the flesh eating flies were biting her relentlessly. She said "we can go to the beach because we gave her bug spray. I wsa higly offended as the only person of color on the beach to be treated this was it was very rude and discriminatory. I dont recomment ths hotel. Only good thing about it was it being a block away from the beach.

My 2 friends and I stayed at this Motel for a week. We started out only staying 3 days and loved it so much we decided to add 4 more days. This is a clean family owned motel in the perfect location to walk to the beach, restraunts, and shops. We ❤ 'd it so much that we decided we are going to come every year from now on for a girl's getaway! Thank you Tradewinds for making our stay a wonderful memory. Nice, comfortable, convenient - it was a pleasant all around experience. The tradewinds has a nice pool, it's a block from the beach and there are plenty of good places to eat right outside your door. It's about 200 a night so for the price u can get something a bit better or search for something cheaper elsewhere if you're just looking to crash at nights but the location n its amenities doesn't make it a bad option. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed 8/15/19 - 8/18/19. Very clean, great rooms, pool, close to breakfast places and pizza places. One block from the beach and close enough to the boardwalk but not too close. Beach MUCH less crowded than down by the pier and very convenient to get to. Nice size fridge in the room. Can’t say enough good things about this place. If/when we go back to Seaside Heights, we will be considering Tradewinds again for sure!!

Definitely stay here if you're looking for convenience and location. Literally 1 block walk from the beach. Rooms are super clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are spacious and clean as well. No microwaves in the rooms though and Wifi is not great. The staff is very friendly and helpful though!
