My absolute new favorite cafe. Everything I’ve tried here is amazing, from the fresh orange juice to their house made jam. Love the small local vibes it has, and the servers are great. Their poached eggs are perfect every time. Will be back plenty of more times in the future.

Update (July 2nd 2022) Been frequenting this establishment for months. My wife and I come here every weekend for brunch. Everyone here is fantastic and friendly. Very attentive, amazing food always consistent. This place is absolutely a must visit. High quality food for an affordable price. The staff is amazing. The owner truly cares. I never expected to find such a gem. I have visited there a few times and the menu is always fresh and great.

Such a cute escape in Jersey City! I almost felt like I was somewhere else! (Cozy, intimate) It’s a very cute restaurant and they offer complimentary coffee and water on top of exceptional service. The owner shared some of the history with me on where his menu inspiration came from (the diverse people of Jersey City) and I could sense a true passion for food, quality, and service. From the freshly baked biscuit to the mouth watering dishes- EVERYTHING was excellent. Truly a great experience. Parking is on the street which is a busy area but it’s worth it!

My husband and I visited this place only because it was highly rated, but from now we are going to make it a monthly visit!! A pretty place with the most amazing food and really courteous staff. We went for a Sunday brunch and were lucky that there was no waiting. The waitress got us started with some black coffee and then we tried the halloumi fries (from the lunch menu), the egg and cheese sandwich (you can pick the bread & cheese of your choice) and the shakshuka grits. Each dish tasted better than the other and the portion size was just sufficient. Excited to try the dinner menu next :) Edit: We did try the dinner menu and it is mind blowing! We ordered the samosas, Jamaican style lamb and yam and the tuna dish (replaced with cauliflowers because my husband is vegetarian). The service was brilliant and I loved the romantic ambience!

We are traveling from SC to NYC and stopped here for breakfast! This place is absolutely incredible! Greeted by the owner and his friendly staff, we had an incredible experience from the time we walked in the door! Everything that you eat is fresh prepared in house! If you are thinking about stopping here, don’t think about it! Just do it! You won’t regret it!

Breathes new life into the place. Also so happy to have another great restaurant option nearby. Such a solid and thoughtful menu, executed very well. I am looking forward to them expanding their menu beyond breakfast/brunch/lunch, but either way, you won't be disappointed! Get the grits! Get the homemade biscuits! Then go on a long walk! You probably gorged!

My Wife to be and I visited Cafe Alyce. The food was okay nothing to write home about. The food takes a lil while to come out which is okay I rather hot fresh food over anything, however my biscuit was not hot. Everything else was nice n hot. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. The Shrimp I did not like. It was something about them that tasted a little off. I did not finish the shrimp. I enjoyed the grits, however I do not like Green onions or onions period. I think that it should be asked if you want them on your plate. The staff was very sweet and welcoming. My wife had ordered a Country Boy Breakfast. She hated the Hash browns she states they were horrible and unseasoned, however if you add their homemade ketchup it will taste a little better because it is a different flavor. The grits were nasty and they actually brought out the wrong food for her twice. The experience was a good one, unfortunately we will not be back to eat but will come for the Cappuccino's which we had and it was great. The space is a bit small and they had little Gnats ( Drain Flies) which was annoying. The Water is Nasty it tastes just like Tap water, it just taste nasty especially once it's warm. The last thing that I did like about the place was we were offered fresh fruit While we waited so damn long for our food.

We went here for Brunch before hitting the Macy’s. We passed by this cafe for a couples of time but couldn’t make it. The cafe is very cute and bright that brings positive energy. We ordered Shakshuka Grits and Bulgogi Beef Breakfast Skillet. The foods were amazing. We love the tasty tomato sauce in the shakshuka, which paired well any types of bread. The bulgogi was the star. The beef was juicy and tender. The staff was friendly and services was fast. As we wanted to take picture of our delicious foods, The manager took our plates back to decorate them to make it look perfect. We truly appreciate his effort in helping us. The ambience of the cafe was bright and upbeat.

New fusion American breakfast bistro in Jersey City. Cozy little place, with a nostalgic sense of the old Jersey and NY diners. The food is American but with a twist of Korean, Indian and French influences. It would be a nice addition if they expand their menu, add lunch, dinner, mimosas and Micheladas to their mix. Overall, highly recommend and a great place to visit. Portions are substantial!

Great service and delicious food. We had the Egg amatriciana (can be a bit spicy for breakfast if you’re sensitive) and the NJ farmers dish. The poached and fried eggs, hash brown and grits were just right. The bacon was perfectly crispy and not greasy.

My husband and I had dined here a few times for breakfast whenever we dropped off our son at school. We enjoy our mornings here as it is just the start before the crowd comes in. This is such a lovely and cozy atmosphere. Now for the food— We love, love the biscuits. The homemade jam that goes with the biscuits is definitely worth the visit. We tried corned beef hash, shrimp & grits, and poached egg aloo paratha. Corn beef hash is hands-down a must-order dish. Overall, I recommend this to my friends and family!

Best breakfast in Jersey City hands down! We’ve eaten here multiple times and everything on the menu is delicious. We especially love the breakfast burrito, corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, and bacon fried rice! Great location and cute, dog-friendly outdoor seating. Owner and staff are always friendly and spoil our pup with bacon each time we visit. We love this spot! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Delicious food and amazing service. They have a separate waiting area where they serve water and complimentary coffee, which is a nice touch. Shows they respect their customers. The food is delicious. Definitely try their biscuit with home made jam - it's delicious! Oh and the orange juice - so fresh! Best part is the service. We sat at the counter and chatted with pretty much everyone. They are very happy chatting with their customers even when they are packed. The owner also came over to check in on us. They were all happy and the energy just goes around. Highly recommend the place. It's BYOB.

Authentic home made breakfast. Highly recommended to get the home made biscuit, it's fluffy and savory. The beacon is crunchy and not too salty. Hash brown is not the traditional version. Looks like a pancake style but is crunchy and soft with full flavors.

Been waiting to try this place since they came so highly recommended. My boyfriend and I went for late brunch on a Saturday and we were seated/served immediately. We both ordered the ‘Country Boy’ breakfast which was phenomenal. The biscuits are definitely the highlight of the meal, especially with the house-made strawberry jam. They also have delicious homemade ketchup (a must-try) that pairs nicely with the hash-brown casserole. The smoothie we ordered was a bit of a disappointment (definitely wouldn’t order again), but the fresh squeezed OJ surely made up for it. We will definitely be returning!

Having recently traveled to Nashville and eating at their world famous biscuit love restaurant I had my biscuit bar set pretty high, and I have to say cafe alyse didn’t disappoint. This is your biscuit and gravy destination in northern New Jersey. The coffee excellent, the service friendly and fast, the from scratch food came out super fast. Will come back here again and next time bring friends from NYC to brag about the places outing jersey city on the map. So if you live in Jersey City the only thing I gotta ask is why haven’t you given this place a try yet?

My buddy and I stopped in for breakfast at Cafe Alyce and were blown away by the service and the food. I've never met a more personable staff, from the greeter who seated us, all the way to the owner who stopped to chat with us multiple times. These are the friendliest folks I've ever met at a restaurant, it was almost surreal. My coffee cup was never empty, and everyone truly cared that we had a great experience. If that wasn't enough, the food was fantastic. Menu offerings were distinct and not the typical boring breakfast fare. Everything was fresh, cooked to order, and served up in a flash. Great choices including home made corned beef hash, a Korean inspired beef dish with poached egg, and shrimp and grits (the grits sourced from a provider down south that are truly unique). No doubt this will be my regular breakfast stop when I'm back in town, but stop in any time, they do breakfast, lunch, dinner, catering, and delivery through the typical delivery services.

My husband and I live in the neighborhood and always drive past Cafe Alyce. Today, we were finally able to sit down for a meal, and it was incredible! From the service to the food!!! My husband and I both have experience working in a restaurant and we truly appreciate quality meals and quality service. We tried two different versions of their Shrimp & Grits and they were extremely delicious. What a taste! My Shrimp & Grits had a Latin kick and the feta cheese to top was everything!

Great little place to grab brunch! As a JC native, it's always interesting to see what new spots are opening in the area. This place is definitely worth a visit. I got the lox w/ poached eggs and subbed the bread w/ a homemade biscuit. It was excellent. Salmon tasted so flavorful, and the biscuit had a great texture. We also got the fried cheesy bites which were also tasty. Would recommend!

My favorite restaurant in Jersey City! I love Cafe Alyce and was a true patron; I frequented weekly before moving. I typically come for breakfast, and my go-to order is "An Ode to New Jersey Farmers." However, everything on the menu is delicious! I have brought many friends to Cafe Alyce and they have all fallen in love. Because truly, what is not to love about this place?! The owner and staff are amazing; kind, warm, and inviting! They are truly part of my JC community!

I ordered from here on Doordash and had a good experience. Customer service: 10/10. The delivery was faster than expected. They didn't have the mushroom soup we ordered but immediately contacted doordash and also wrote a nice not on the bag apologizing and gave me an extra biscuit and jam. Halloumi and Havarti Grilled cheese: 9/10. Great taste, I love grilled halloumi and with the jam it was yummy. One point docked because on one side it was a little burned but otherwise would def order again. Fries: 10/10 these were also awesome and crispy! Vegetarian Club sandwich - this was disappointing only because it was way too messy. There's too much in it and it made the bread soggy. It would also be nice to have the option of adding cheese. I ended up taking some veggies out to be able to eat it. Would not order it again, maybe would try a breakfast sandwich instead in the future Alyce milkshake - it was a really nice treat! We didn't get a chance to try the biscuits because we are already stuffed but looking forward to trying this restaurant in person in the future.

Enjoyed a nice breakfast here with family today! Staff is very friendly and easygoing. Dining room is casual and clean. I appreciated that each table has brightly colored fresh flowers. Offers multiple bread options - challah, sourdough, biscuits. Cappuccino was nicely done too. We’ll be back -

Next door to Cafe Alyce, is the newly opened Cafe Alyce Bar. The staff are excellent, the drinks are strong, and the ambiance is cool. Highly recommend a stop in for some delicious cocktails.

So good! I was craving some shrimp and grits and found this place on TikTok so hubby and I decided to go try them, no regrets!! Everything was delicious and the customer service was just as good. The owner came over to us and gave us a brief history on his restaurant. We are definitely going again, I need to try the lamb curry!! You all should check them out too.

Delicious food and excellent service. We got the aloo paratha and the biscuits with mushroom gravy. Both items were fresh and delicious. Tory the manager there personally stops by all the tables to say hi and check on you. Great addition to the area and highly recommended.

We came across Cafe Alyce randomly searching on Google maps for a new place to have breakfast in our neighborhood. The place is cute with some outdoor seating. We were seated immediately and our server and waitstaff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. From the eggs, to the amazing homemade biscuits and sausage, the hashbrown (seriously flavorful), the raspberry jam, all of it. Very excited to have another local business to add to our roster of eateries and highly recommend you check out and support this wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

Cute brunch/lunch spot with indoor and outdoor dining - a perfect addition to the neighborhood. Coffee and lattes were delicious. We tried the avocado toast and aloo paratha with tomato chutney - both were great! Servers were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Just got out of this place. From the service to the food, and the atmosphere, this spot hit it just right. Found the place randomly for a quick breakfast stop, ended up with a great overall experience. Will come back again with more people. Thank you guys! Good work.
