I stayed in this Hotel in my trip with my mom to the Holly City in 2019. The front desk staff are really friendly. I didn't have a reservation and they found me a room to stay in. In a moderate rate. The room was big. I was given the 11 or 12 Floor. The best view of the Hotel. There staff are polite and friendly. The cleaning personnel always polite with us when we pass by and even ask us if we needed any extra item. The hotel is not modern but its clean and spacious. There breakfast is amazing. They offer dinner for an extra charge but its worth it. The shopping mall is like 3 minute away walking. All the store and shopping areas are near by. I recommend this Hotel.

We were a large group of adults and children for an extended stay over passover. The food was plentiful and delicious. The service was excellent and the hotel catered to our every need. I would most definitely return with a big group.

Terrible stay. I came down to the pool with my boyfriend one of the days of chag, and was told my bathing suit was too revealing leaving me feeling violated and uncomfortable. I was able to see the judgement of the employees throughout the entire stay and felt the support from the staff was severely lacking.

We had a lovely time at the Plaza. The staff were friendly and happy. I never once saw a staff member unhappy! The room was very comfortable and the food was delicious and had nice variety and options. I had really needed a nice relaxing weekend with no worries and that is what I got. We will definitely return again.

When we arrived A/C didn't work. It was also not the room we had booked. They kept trying to convince us that the room was cool and AC was working. Didn't respond to issues. Told us will bring a fan , never came. I had to fight to switch rooms. Which they did the next day after complaining 6 times. Both the first room and second one, were unacceptably dirty, mold in bathroom, worn out threadbare carpets.... won't be staying here again....

I have visited Jerusalem many times from New York. I have stayed in many hotels that are much worldly renown. This hotel just feels like home. I just had a stay here for 10 days with my son and it was just perfect. Parking is so convenient and the food is amazing and mehadrin. Just make sure you dont come late to the meals because they close at their scheduled time. This will be my new place in jerusalem and the prices are so much better than the "other" hotels in the area.

The Plaza is located in an ideal location in Jerusalem, just a short walk both to the Old City and to "downtown" Jerusalem. The rooms at the Plaza which face the Old City offer wonderful views. The breakfasts and dinners served at the hotel are of the highest quality and offer great variety. The hotel staff is, overall, friendly and accommodating, and aims to please. Ronit, the guest relations manager at the Plaza, is extraordinary. She graciously treats the guests at the hotel as if they are her personal guests in her own home. I've stayed at the Plaza on multiple occasions over the years. Generally speaking, the rooms are nice sized and cleaned well. While the decor in many rooms is due for updating, the overall guest experience at the hotel remains very high.

I just love love this hotel! Staff are really friendly and accommodating. From front desk staff and manager, to the kitchen staff, restaurant staff and house keeping. Food selection is so vast that even we stayed here for 6 days, I didn’t get to try them all. Highly recommended.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. My room was luxurious (the bed was so comfortable I fell asleep in seconds). Breakfast was delicious and the service throughout my stay was outstanding. I’m only sorry my stay was so short 😚

I have stayed at the Leonardo Plaza twice in 5 years. In 2022, I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. I wiped dried coca-cola off the walls when I arrived. It just needs a little attention to detail in the rooms. My view of the old city from the 18th floor was wonderful. I am pretty sure this hotel has one of the best breakfast spreads in the whole country. The service is exceptional and it is very convenient walking to most things around the city. The light rail is probably about 10 blocks away. The laundry service did a fantastic job on a shirt I sent to them. Even removed a stain and it came back nicely pressed later that day. Exceptional value.

We were with a tour group to see the Holy Lands. The location was about 15 minutes walk from the Jaffa gate, the food was good with many options , we were given 2 bottles of water each day and the room was fairly clean except the bathroom and the cups. The shower door leaked and the shower backed up. We called the front desk and it was to be fixed but was not. We were shorted a foot towel and a bottle of water one day. I called 3 different times to get a replacement coffee cup that I left in the restaurant and am still waiting for it to arrive.

When arriving to the hotel the manager and all the staff are amazing. From checking in to every concern is handled. Anati the manager of the hotel is unbelievable and will take every one of your concerns and fix them. He’s unbelievable and so friendly To work with and he does it all with a smile. Highly recommend this establishment.

The rooms and service makes this place, Leonardo stand above the rest. My wife and friends are very well pleased with our stay here. We planned to come back next year. Thank you!

A very nice hotel near many worthy sights to see, Hotel is very nice and only had minor complaints about the service. On my first shower, the shower pull knob fell off in my hand. It took two days to fix the issue. Luckily the hand wand was available. The clothesline has the hook upside down. Apparently someone does not know how gravity works. Front desk personnel seems cold and standoffish. I tried to get change for 200 Shekels and was told they don't make change. I bought a drink at the bar and the bartender went to the front desk to get change. The Wifi is unusable on the eighth floor, luckily I had my hotspot. The meals were very good, and was a shining moment in our stay. The elevator system was an amazing technological marvel. Overall stay was very nice.

We just returned from a 5 day stay there. 74 in our group. Wonderful hotel, friendly staff, the food was excellent and a lot of it. The room, while clean seemed dated. I had no issues! Absolutely loved my 22nd floor balcony overlooking the city. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They stored our bags on the last day as we had a midnight flight. When I go back to Jerusalem, thus us where I’ll stay. Quite convenient to stood and sights.

A beautiful hotel located close to restaurants, shops and great venues. The food was excellent, the staff was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We have friends that have visited Jerusalem several times and this is always their hotel of choice.

Great hotel with great people and great service. I stayed in this hotel for 3 weeks in January/ February this year when I visited and I was pleased. So here I’m again for 2 weeks. Everyone is nice. Food is always tasty. Location very convenient!

This is a big hotel that strives to be a lot of things to a lot of different users. The fact that it mostly succeeds is a testament to its management and staff. The Good: -Good views from rooms -Comfortable beds -Directly adjacent to a lovely green park -Close to Old City and Jaffa Road -Really nice pool -Friendly staff -Convenient and reasonably priced parking Room For Improvement: -Overall cleanliness in rooms and public areas. The hotel sees heavy use for events, breakfasts, etc. and the staff just doesn’t seem to come close to keeping up with housekeeping. Smudges on all glass/mirror surfaces, buttons, dispensers, water stains on chrome in bathrooms, toilet seats, etc. A hotel that aims to meet so many event and guest needs must be ahead of these things at all times. A lot more application of Windex is needed! A lot more immediate cleanup of public areas where events have occurred. -Buffet is almost too big and too comprehensive. Much of the food ends up seeming unappealing. Based on the above, I would definitely not call the hotel “five star.” Our stay was decent, and the good things listed above were good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem during Shabbat, and it was an unforgettable experience in every aspect. The hotel not only offers great amenities and a warm ambiance, but it also provides a culinary journey that's truly unparalleled. The dining options at the hotel were an absolute delight. Every meal was a symphony of flavors, presenting a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary cuisines. The freshness of the ingredients and the creativity in presentation were evident with every bite. Breakfasts were lavish, offering a vast array of choices to cater to every palate. The Shabbat dinner, in particular, was a true testament to the hotel's culinary prowess, offering both classic dishes and modern interpretations. Amidst all this, the standout of our stay was the exemplary service provided by one of the managers, Anati. His attention to detail, proactive approach, and genuine passion for guest satisfaction were evident in every interaction. Anati's commitment to ensuring guests have an exceptional experience made our stay memorable. If you're planning a visit to Jerusalem, I cannot recommend the Leonardo Plaza enough. Beyond the luxurious facilities and the scenic views, you will be treated to a gastronomic adventure and be in the caring hands of a team led by outstanding professionals like Anati. Eagerly anticipating our next visit!

Great guest relations manager. Outstanding Ronit, the guest services manager made our stay. She is the most pleasant, professional and competent hotel senior staff member we have ever encountered anywhere. We had a problem with our room on arrival - it was very shabby and not as expected. Ronit didn’t try and bluff her way out of our concern. She agreed with us, and quietly and efficiently arranged room change within the hour . Every day it was noticeable how available she was to all the guests . She was always in the restaurant at breakfast, and in reception looking out to help. All this done with a smile, and very obviously looking to enhance everyone’s stay at the hotel . She is a jewel in the Leonardo Plaza’s crown, and we hope that the hotel owner and senior management acknowledge this. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. Housekeeping staff are excellent, and quietly efficient. Pillows are terrible, and they do not have a pillow ‘menu’. Apparently the bedrooms are due for a proper renovation . They need it as soon as possible. This will elevate the hotel to take its place among Jerusalem’s best hotels . Restaurant staff superb, and the breakfasts outstanding.

We had a lovely experience in the spa, Jamilah at reception was lovely and wonderful, and the Masseur Dror was a genius. Made me feel comfortable although usually I am nervous about male masseuses. Wonderful experience overall

In the past, when I visited Jerusalem I stayed at the Ramada Renaissance. This year the Ramada had no vacancies so I asked my friends what hotels they normally stayed at. Quite a few of them said the Leonardo Plaza and they said that the food was delicious and the location was great. I was traveling with my 87-year-old mother this time, for 5 nights in Jerusalem, so I wanted to make sure that we got a walk-in-shower. I contacted the hotel and they put me in touch with Ronit Bar Shai Cohen- Guest Relations Manager. She assured me that we would be given a room with an accessible shower. Ronit told us to contact Mr. Bashar at the front desk if we needed further assistance. When we arrived at the hotel Mr. Bashar had one of his assistants escort us to the room to ensure that it met our needs. Our room had a beautiful view of the Old City and the Mount of Olives which my mother enjoyed very much looking out at night and waking up to in the morning. We had dinner at the hotel the first night. The food was fabulous. There was such a large variety of things to eat and every dish we tasted was delicious and perfectly spiced. We also had a glass of red wine which was fantastic. My mother and I agreed, dinner was an outstanding experience. I asked another guest in the elevator what she thought of the meals and she agreed that everything was perfect. We were really tired when we arrived and I was not happy that I would have to run out in the middle of dinner to pray, but to my surprise there was a beautiful synagogue a few feet away from the dining room with prayer services. There are also several other synagogues nearby which have prayers at different hours. Breakfast was unbelievable. One chef made omelets to order, another chef made custom pizza in a special oven and pancakes with an enormous amount of toppings. Another chef made frozen smoothies with a wide variety of fruits, berries and melons. We found the Leonardo Plaza staff to be most attentive to their guests. We received at least 2 bottles of water every day in our room that was very convenient to take along with us on our daily travels. The location was fantastic. Very frequent bus service on King George to get to the light rail and First Station and also to Central Bus and Train Station and also on Agron where you can get very quickly to the bus stops in Old City at the Tower of David and at Chabad Street, and to the Kotel, which was great for my elderly mom since it minimized her walking. It was also a very quick ride to The Sifting Project on the Mount of Olives. It's a short walk to the Machane Yehuda Market and not too long to the Old City, however since my mom had a walker we tried to minimize the walking. For those who use walkers or wheelchairs, the entrance to the Hotel is below street level. There is a ramp which goes up to King George from the hotel entrance as well as an access road. My mother found the ramp to be less steep with her walker.

We stayed for 5 nights at this beautiful spacious 5* hotel in a prime location right near the Old City which was approximately a 20min walk away and one of the few hotels with an outdoor pool. The place was sweepingly spacious, spotlessly clean, and the staff across the board from reception to waiters were always smiling, eager to please and very helpful at all times. The restaurant food was an amazing buffet with 1st class food and such a huge variety that you are spoiled for choice with more than you could possibly eat and chefs on hand to cook certain dishes to your liking at breakfast. The Shabbat dinner on Friday night was something very special and not to be missed. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage and facilities. We had an issue with a jammed safe on the 1st night which was swiftly rectified along with an upgrade to a city view for the inconvenience. We hope to return in the future and have no intention of looking at alternative hotels.

We booked a bed & breakfast deal for the family (2 parents and 3 kids) for 2 nights in August. We were excited about the location, which is very important when traveling in Jerusalem. Indeed the location is superb! But it's the only good thing I can say about this hotel. I will start with the lack of parking 😤. This is unbelievable. I had to pay an extra 250 NIS just to park the car close enough to the hotel. We did most of the travels around the city by foot, so that was an extra unexpected expenditure... The rooms we got had nice view but the windows are so small that you can't really enjoy any view. We got 2 room with a connecting door that, once forced open, would not close again. One room was dirty with food leftovers and both rooms had dirty carpets that our feet got stained black from walking barefoot on it. The maintenance of the hotel is SO low that it makes the stay pretty frustrating (see sample pictures). The pool is nice but very dirty around the pool. It is fairly small so it was difficult to find a place to sit or pool chairs. Now, the most horrible experience was the breakfast. The dining room is over crowded. The hotel does not arrange shifts or booking like other hotels do. The breakfast time window is also too narrow, which means that thousands of people need to squeeze in to that dining room in a small time frame. There is food on the floor, dirt mess... everything you do not want in a dining area. They had only 1 (!) water jar for the whole room. One! Which caused a line to be queued up in front of it. Staff had to refill it every 10 minutes! People queued up in front of the buffet and the omelet stations for 20 minutes! I will stop ranting now because there is so much more and you are probably tired of me... So bottom line - I say this to the hotel management - it's a disgrace the way you manage this hotel. We won't come back.

Great Shabbat food and family atmosphere. Hotel seems to be recovering from lack of use during Covid. Some rooms need better maintenance (batteries replaced in safe, broken drawers fixed), housekeeping turned off bathroom lights during Shabbat. Annoying for sabbath observers. No food available in lobby other than cakes on display. Check out huge rooms on 21st floor for superb views.

Nice hotel and great breakfast. The pool is also bright and clean. Typically, an Israeli 5* hotel is really a 4*. It shows here in the wear and tear, the level of service, and the ageing rooms and bathrooms, and the decor. The cleaning service can be improved. Otherwise, it is a reasonable hotel and worth a visit.

Great food, nice hotel experience, gym is nice decked out... good for 3 to 5 people at once. Pool is also nice, staff is nice, my review is a bit biased cause I have family who lives there ikr. Only reason for 4 star not 5 is because the gym closes at 9:30pm and the pool closes at 6pm which is very weird 🤔 cause I prefer 24/7 places or at least closed to midnight and bad marketing with pool and gym time closing but what ever, it's good hotel otherwise.

This is the best hotel in all of Jerusalem. They are so nice and so accommodating! They truly set the example for how a hotel should be. Service is amazing and fast. They helped with everything I needed and know both English and Hebrew.

Had a really great time. The rooms were nice and the food was fantastic but the service is the reason I'm taking the time to write the review. My family and I had a delightful stay at Leonardo Plaza Hotel. A standout part of the experience was the friendliness of the staff! Leonardo Plaza was a beautiful and clean hotel with excellent location, within walking distance everywhere, friendly, helpful and accommodating staff, great food and exceptional customer service. Special thanks to Ahmad, Housekeeping manager for recommending this hotel and booking our 3 beautiful and spacious deluxe rooms with balconies on the 22nd floor overlooking a panoramic view of the old city for 6 nights. Our Stay was fabulous and strongly recommend the hotel, it’s a 5/5 in my book.

Good: 1. Bed size (but look at cons.) + good pillows 2. Room comfortable 3. Bathtub and not shower (see cons. also) 4. Provide slippers (see cons) 5. Nice lobby 6. Swimming pool Cons: 1. Bed not so comfortable. Woke up with lower back pain. Apparently mattress is quite old. 2. There was mold on the silicon in the bathtub and next to the sink. 3. Bathroom could have been cleaner (you could see dirt on the garbage can) 4. Slippers are 2 size (women and men - but didn't fit me)

Rooms are old. Had water leaking from room above and when mentioned to front desk he made a face as I don’t know what I’m taking about. Same leak happened in morning. We stopped at the hotel as part of an office trip for lunch and a lecture. The hotel is kept pretty clean and tidy. The service was friendly and courteous. The food was very good. The vegetable soup was terrific. The smoked eggplant balls were very interesting. The rest of the meal was the standard hummus and salads. What was strange, though, was the scent they used in the public areas: smelled like a cheap bathroom air freshener. The bathrooms were clean, but not spotless. They also need a good-quality scent. All in all - a nice experience.

  • 1/5 Chaim S. 2 years ago on Google
The rooms are pretty decent, however the service was a true disgrace. When we checked in The receptionist Michael decided instead of welcoming us with a nice warm welcome he will welcome us with an interrogation on our citizenship status. We presented our US passports but absolutely out of nowhere he demands my wife gives him her Israeli passport which she doesn’t and never had. To be clear my wife is not a citizen, was not born in this country, doesn’t speak the language and doesn’t have any relation with this country whatsoever. However out of the blue he simply decided that she’s a local citizen and wouldn’t give in. After a while of him demanding and some serios back and forwards we finally thought that he gave in however to our great surprise we get to check out we see that he added in a 17% tax that is only charged for local citizens to our stay. I still have have absolutely no clue why he charged this or on what basis he decided that my wife should have an Israeli passport or why he decided that he’s part of immigration police. This is an absolute disgrace to do someone. The fact that a hotel employee can even do something like this reflects extremely poorly on the management and what their standards are to treat guests.
