Terrible! I would not even leave them one star but I had to. They will not answer the phone to help with license renewal fees. There is a voicemail, but it says the mailbox is full so you can’t leave a message. Their website says to email them. But, when you do you get an automated reply that does not answer your question. This office has some very lazy people working there that needs to be fired.

I have been trying to get a hold of someone regarding not getting the registration code by phone and email! If they are going to change the way we have to renew our license, they should at least be able to help if something goes wrong! I absolutely hate renewing because there is always something to go wrong.

They suppose to be there to help the people in the industry but instead what they do are hunting people down, keep creating barriers for people who try to get in to industry or move from other states. They only care about fine and making money. The male inspector has no cosmetologist background very rude, unprofessional and discriminatory which he thinks every salons are the crime scenes. They never communicated to you when we tried to reach them. we have to hire the lawyer every time we wanna talk to them. Many salons has been closed and move out due to high fine, misconducting inspection. They have destroyed a lot of people lives. This department is corrupted and discriminatory.

It really is sad what they are doing to people. I have tried to transfer my license from Ohio to Kentucky since July. I have been a licensed nail tech in Ohio for 6 years, owned a salon for 3+ years & have NEVER experienced such terrible service & circumstances. After months of back & forth, no one would answer the phone - voicemail is always full.. I am unable to go into the office. I had to double email waiting days-week for a response on an update of my transfer. I even submitted my online application a total of 5 times with them claiming they never got my documents. After 3 months I finally was told to submit my documents via email JUST to be told it will not be transferrable & I will need to re-test through state board. Mind you, unlike Ohio, Kentucky requires you take the practical & theory tests separately - which prolongs this process even more. I have been unable to work & make any income during this time period in Kentucky. I have been driving over two hours up & back in the same day, multiple times a week, to Ohio just to make enough money to pay my bills. There needs to be a change! I am lucky enough to have supportive family, but I am struggling & it's all because no one is responsive & doing their job. You would think after all of these horrible reviews, knowing I'm not the only one who has endured this experience, that something would change. It is all a money scheme & needs to be taken care of!

Still waiting for my license in the mail and it’s been 4 months. Even called and tried to see if there was an issue like wrong address or something and there wasn’t. But yet I was able to renew my license even though I don’t have one in hand other then the temporary one the sent me from the beginning.

Most of us have not received our actual license “allegedly” so they can accrue more money in at the board & not have to pay printing fees. This is why we only get an emailed version to print ourselves. Typically you should receive a license within 30 days of printing schedule. It’s been months.

Worst state board of cosmetology in America. But the richest State Board of Cosmetology on Earth. Wished Google had 0 star. Don’t bother to waste your time and try to call them or drive to their hideout. They’re too busy collecting and counting money, they won’t have time for you ;) #corrupted

My friend and i both transfer nail license from same state to Kentucky, both of us gave the same documents but my friend got approved to transfer the license and i got denied.i feel like the board not follow their own laws and they just do whatever they want. I try to hide my info because i scare to get bullied from the Kentucky Board.
