A beautiful Cathedral with many exhibits and opportunities to learn more. Very similar to St. Vitus in Prague. There are opportunities to go to the second floor and there is significantly less crowds. We had areas all to ourselves at times. Include it in your train and car visit from Prague!

The cathedral was worth seeing although I think some of the comments about it being the most beautiful are not my opinion. There are a lots of beautiful areas and you can climb the stairs to the top. There are some nice views and it’s interesting to see the irfan from the back - not what I would have pictured! The grounds are nice to walk around or sit and have lunch.

This cathedral is dedicated to Saint Barbara the patron saint of miners. The foundation stone was laid 1388 but it took 500 years for it to be completed. During the Baroque time, the administration of the cathedral was taken over by the Jesuits. The painted glass windows are impressive, especially with morning or afternoon sun shining through. Ensure you walk up to the top level to see the 1000+ organ pipes! A combo-ticket, including the Church of Assumption and the Bones Church costs Kr220 vs 260 if the three are bough individually.

(Translated by Google) Years before visiting this small town, I planned to stop by and visit the magnificent St. Barbara's Cathedral. At the time, I thought it was the only attraction of this city, but later I realized that in fact the whole city is an attraction. And so, one day I went to Prague and decided to stop by Kutna Hora. The main town square itself is extremely beautiful, large and paved with cobblestones, and around it are small beautiful buildings that continue along the street that leads to the temple itself. In front of the cathedral is a huge baroque building of the archdiocese, and then behind it rises a magnificent Gothic building with an impressive roof in the shape of three blue tents. The interior of the cathedral itself disappointed me a bit, because apart from the vaults filled with coats of arms and the beautiful main altar, the rest and God knows how beautiful. However, when he comes out of the cathedral and looks at its facade again, you are overwhelmed with admiration for its appearance. After touring the cathedral itself, I went to the 2 km distant town of Sedlec where the most bizarre chapel I have ever seen is located. In fact, it is an ossuary chapel whose entire interior is "decorated" with human bones. Even the huge chandelier in the center of the chapel is all made of human bones. Really beautiful but really creepy. All in all, when you are already here, it is worth seeing this unusual monument.

St. Barbara's Cathedral, a jewel of late Gothic architecture (one of four cathedral-type buildings in Bohemi) was included in the UNESCO World Heritage. The beginnings of construction, which date back to the second half of the 14th century. + beautiful building and Christian Artwork + great vibes

AVOID ENTERING!!! This cathedral has a rich history and great gothic architecture, however, the interior furnishings are entirely missing, and have been either stolen or destroyed. Furthermore, it is extremely disgusting that a place of worship mandates and charges outrageous entrance fees, turning religious beliefs into a business. Thus, not worth entering.

Such a beautiful church. The frescos are uniquely not all religious, more depictions of daily life in a mining village. The architecture inside & out is a marvel to look at. Absolutely worth the day trip from Prague (highly recommended).

Daytour from Prague to Kutna Hora with us. Saint Barbara's Church is a Roman Catholic church in Kutná Hora in the style of a cathedral, and is sometimes referred to as the Cathedral of St Barbara. It is one of the most famous Gothic churches in central Europe and it is a UNESCO world heritage site. St Barbara is the patron saint of miners, which was highly appropriate for a town whose wealth was based entirely upon its silver mines. MYTRIPLINE Team

This cathedral is absolutely gorgeous, and they have a fantastic, lengthy audio tour that is well worth your time, they really go into detail on the beautiful paintings and stained glass windows around the main altar. It's a stunning cathedral, with so much history throughout. If you're making your way to Kutna Hora, don't miss St. Barbara's!

It is a UNESCO word heritage. It is one of the most famous gothic churches in central Europe. The construction began in 1388 but not been completed until 1905. The ticket is available at the information center. The architecture of the church is very beautiful inside and out. 1 hour is enough for the visit.

The most beautiful cathedral i've ever been able to visit. Definitely worth a visit but weekdays might be best as more shops in the area would be open and restaurants too. You can go inside 160Kč for an adult. No photography or videoing allowed. No dogs allowed. Inside is spectacular and you can also follow steps in the corner to go upstairs and look down from above and also out to the front balcony which also give a beautiful view.

You can take a train from Prague to Kutna Hora to visit St Barbara. An impressive church with equally interesting or intriguing public sculptures in the grounds around the church. Worth visiting, if you have the time.

(Translated by Google) Very interesting. The main thing is not to rush. Take explanatory leaflets at the entrance. The dots in the cathedral come to life. The first time I saw the organ from above and the wooden saints from the rear. There is a feeling of deja vu around the wall painting. Saw somewhere !!! In Tarkovsky's film ?! This church in my opinion is one of a kind. I don't feel it's extremely beautiful to watch but the design, the roofs, the architecture and structure are for sure unique. In the inside you can see many altars, different stories depicted on the walls, intertwined details on the roofs and a wide balcony on the first floor. This is a Unesco heritage site and the price is ok. You will be given a leaflet with all the history of the church built in the 1300 that has undergone many renovations and upgrades since that moment.

Not my thing but my wife likes to visit Cathedrals, and this was part of a guided tour to Kutna Hora from Prague. Takes about 1 hr 20 mins to get here through beautiful countryside. Now I'm not a religious man at all ( I don't need an imaginary friend) but I couldn't help be impressed by the architecture. I still think these buildings were built 100's of years ago to instil fear into ordinary people as a method of control. Nowadays we know how this world developed through science. Anyway that's my view. Its impressive without doubt and well worth a good look

There is nothing like St. Barbara's Cathedral in the Czech Republic anymore. It takes several hours to inspect the cathedral (even if running). Very beautiful and exterior. and interior. An unusual view of the interior of the cathedral opens from the second tier. And seeing an organ from above from behind is a very rare opportunity. I strongly recommend that if you are in the Czech Republic, do not forget to visit not only the Cathedral of St. Barbara, but the whole town of Kutna Hora.

(Translated by Google) As the history of this building shows, sometimes a conflict can result in a beautiful work. The history here dates back to the 14th century and the relations between local miners and the Cistercians of the Sedlec order. The bone of contention was the surrounding silver lands, to which the Cistercians usurped rights. Or maybe it was about the fact that the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. John the Baptist and it was a matter of competition? 🤔 Nevertheless, on the site of the old chapel of St. Barbara (patron saint of miners) in 1388 began work on the construction of the church, financed by miners and wealthy inhabitants of the city. Construction was suspended several times: the city's financial difficulties, the Hussite wars, and the lack of funds. The last works were carried out in 1905. As a result of the work and alterations, an impressive building in the Gothic style was created. Majestic. She was. A masterpiece of architecture. Appreciated in 1995 and entered on the UNESCO cultural heritage list. It is worth taking a look inside, because the church houses wonderful works (a sculpture of the Virgin Mary from 1380 or valuable frescoes with scenes of the Passion from 1463). Ostatnie prace wykonywano jeszcze w 1905 roku. W efekcie prac i przeróbek powstała imponująca budowla w stylu gotyckim. Majestatyczna. Wyniosła. Majstersztyk architektury.
