Palanquin service is also available for the old aged or people with having problem climbing up to hill, It is hill completely made of rock. The steps are carved out Hill's rock surface. I didn't mind counting number of steps it had, people who aren't used of walking or moving around much will surely get out of breath till he reaches the top. Don't forget the fabulous view you get see from top as well as the steps

Vindyagiri hillock is about 140km from Bengaluru and has the Bahubali statue at its summit. One has to climb barefooted up the 620 odd steps. At the foothills there is adequate space for parking, and nearby shops provide coconut water and refreshments.

More than 1000 years old Jain temple, with giant Bahubali statue. Known for grand once in 12 years Abhishek. The place is perfect for a day trip from Bengaluru. 3 hours drive. The place will take 2 hour. 45 mins to get up and 15 mins on downside and 1 hour to sit in temple Courtyard. Good views of the town from the hill top. Overall worth visiting

Shravanabelagola is a captivating destination steeped in rich history and cultural significance. The awe-inspiring Gomateshwara statue and the two picturesque hills offer breathtaking panoramic views, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. While the ancient charm and spiritual ambiance are truly captivating, visitors should be prepared for a moderate trek and be mindful of the weather, as the terrain can be challenging. The serene ambiance and the spiritual resonance of this place make it a unique and memorable experience for those seeking a blend of cultural exploration and natural beauty.

The statue of Bahubali looks magestic upfront...The climb up the hill is worthwhile and gives you a great cardiac workout...The spectacular scenic view from the top is awe-inspiring....A days outing to this magnificent place is worth it ..... Vindhyagiri Betta is a popular hill located in Karnataka, India, that draws visitors from all over the country. Firstly, the hill is known for its religious significance, as it houses the famous Jain temple, Bahubali. This temple is considered one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Jains, attracting thousands of devotees every year. The climb to the top of the hill is quite steep and challenging, but the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape make it all worth it. The hill is also home to several other temples and shrines, each with its own unique significance and beauty. The trek up the hill is an adventurous one, and it is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes and carry water with you. The climb can be particularly challenging during the summer months when the temperatures can soar. However, the stunning views and the refreshing breeze at the top of the hill make it all worth it. Overall, Vindhyagiri Betta is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in culture, religion, and nature. The hill offers a unique combination of adventure, spirituality, and natural beauty, making it a great place to visit with family and friends.

Best place for one day trip. We started our journey from Mysore. It is better to reach in the early morning when it is less sunny and hot. it is better to climb and come down before 11. Because you have to visit another hill , it is best if you finish darshana as early as possible. Around 700 steps are there for Vindya giri and nearly 200 steps for Chandra giri. In Vindya giri famous Jain temple and tallest monolithic Gommateshvara statue is present and in Chandragiri 15 basdi are present.

Reaching to the base of hill is dead easy by using own vehicle or train or bus. Climbing up and down takes hardly 1hour for both and spend much time on top of hill with your friends or family or beloved ones. Avoid going on heavy sunny day, sometimes we couldn't climb under very hot sun. After descending go to jain hall where free lunch is provided, have it and start your journey back towards your home :)

Vindhyagiri is where Sharavanbelogola know as Gommateshware Bahubali is located. It is 144 kms from Bangalore. To reach the Gommateshwara we have climb around 600 steps. Carry water along with you. You will not get any thing onthe way or too of the hill. We have to climb bare food. So start early in the morning. The view from the top of the hill is fantastic, you will love. Spend some time on the top.

One of the 2 hills in sharavanbelagola, the other bein chandragiri, it has a Jain temple on the top. You will have to leave your footwear at the base of your hill at a counter for which they charge rs.10 per pair or alternatively you can leave it in your vehicle and walk to the hill if you are parked nearby. The climb is easy, or at best moderate based on your fitness level. A good cultural heritage place, do plan on clubbing chandragiri hill which is just opposite to this place and has a few ancient temples on top.

Great experience. Good climb to reach the Jain Temple. Scenic statue and temple. Definitely worth visiting. It features all the 24 Tirthankars. Scenery: 5/5 Very well maintained. But mind you the climb is a lot, and it is steep, which may be a problem if travelling with old ppl. Carry ample water while reaching the top.

One of the best weekend holiday Pilgrimage and heritage destination, within 150 km from Bangalore, Vindhyagiri also known as Odegala Basadi, Udayagiri and Sravanabelagola. Dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras Neminatha, Shantinatha and Adinatha, the temple rests on top of Vindhyagiri hill in Sravanbelagola. Try to reach Sravanabelagola in the morning because once the sun raises up the rock will become hot that may spoil your mood of enjoy the intricate carvings and elegant craftsmanship that showcase the workmanship of Ganga dynasty. Because the temple is situated on top of the rock hill, you have to be ready to climb 650 steps in barefoot under scorching sun, so don't forget to wear a hat, it will take 20-30min walk to reach, on the way you can sea ancient scrips on rocks. Once you reach the summit you see the representation of Ganga's rock-cut architectural form in Akhanda-bagilu the main entrance of the temple and the gigantic statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali which stands 58ft tall monolithic statue carved out of single stone, the largest monolithic stone statue in the world, and also the carved idol of Lord Bahubali's brother Bharata's near the temple. One of the most important features of this place is that once in 12Years Mahamastakabhisheka Pooja will be done where abhisheka for statue will be performed using Milk, Sree Gandha powder, Sugarkane Juice, etc worth watching abhisheka Pooja once in a life time. Another one is Udayagiri or Chandragiri which is exactly opposite to this temple which is also Jain pilgrimage place. Best time to visit - January - March and Post Sept.

Well the Oly item to be noted is reach there before 07:00 AM. That should give you a great trek experience...not actually a trek but a good walk up the hill... இளநீர் tender coconut is pretty cheaper at the foot hill...have it once you complete the hike.

Loved the place ..the scenries from there is one of the best ones I have seen ....the statue is fascinating . One of the most intricate sculptures I have ever seen. Just mind blowing .the mountain is very steep but not at all tiring to climb because the steps are of small height. U can see the adjacent chandragiri from there.
