Clean rooms, cleaning service is great but I’m giving this two stars because when we communicated with the owner over text about the price, she had said it was $30 a night. She sent me the link, I confirmed with her that the amount was correct, she said yes, I made the payment. At checkin I showed her the receipt, she saw that my husband and I were checking in. She said nothing about the price charged being wrong. Then at checkout she told me that for the room we had was $56 a night. I confronted her, showed her the messages she sent me and she said she misunderstood and thought the room was for only one person, even though she is also the one that checked us in. Why barely say something as we’re checking out and not when we’re checking in? Otherwise, I would have stayed at another place for $30 a night for two people. I found this very unprofessional.

The service was wonderful. Our server took the time to explain the extremely fresh ingredients. Lovely ambience by the pool. We have eaten here twice during our stay and look forward to trying their beach location. I would highly recommend. Lots of small plate options with Spanish flair.

Cannot speak to the accommodation as we only ate dinner. Had one of the best meals we've had in Puerto Lopez here. The grilled white fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked and came with a wonderful, delicious mixed salad. My girlfriend had the Shrimp Tagliatelle, which managed to be almost light in texture with no trace of the gumminess that ruins many an interpretation of this dish. She was so jealous of my salad she asked for her own. The house white wine was decent but unexciting so I changed to beer after one glass. However, there are a couple of interesting Portuguese Dao reds by the bottle at $33. Chilean options run $20 to $25 per bottle, which is a fair price. Not sure about storage conditions however with some wines in racks in the dining area. Those may have been for display only though I can't be sure. Service was impeccable and the cheerful and efficient waiter spoke great English and was happy to explain the menu if asked. A big shout out to the kitchen staff too for a wonderful meal.

We had an early dinner here and the ambiance, decor and service were all excellent. The proximity to the pool and nackground noises of activity were a delightful accompaniment to the delicious first course of fresh salad in a tasty vinaigrette. This was followed by a truly wonderful paella which both i am my wife enjoyed immensely. Overall, a relaxing, indulgent, and very worthwhile experience!

The rooms were clean, spacious enough, and had air conditioning units. The common area/restaurant has a nice pool and is well decorated. Breakfasts were a cozy experience while listening to chirping birds. The food and drinks are tasty and served by a happy staff. Definitely would come back here.

Relaxing, quiet and friendly atmosphere, we enjoyed the seafood paella and several appetizers and went back a second time, the paella it's delicious fresh. Atentive and super friendly staff! Great place to also enjoy some cocktails, wine or simply chill by the pool with a cappuccino. Highly recommended!

Great food cooked by a chef. Great dish presentation and the owner himself is from Barcelona. Beautiful hotel and a big selection of wines. If you're in a group, call ahead if you want to eat their great dish...paella!

I love Hotel Ancora! It’s a very comfortable and colorful place. The rooms are very nice and clean with hot water and air conditioning and comfortable beds. There is a nice pool on site and it’s a 5 minute walk to the beach. They also have an amazing restaurant that has incredibly delicious food with great coffee. This visit is my second time I have stayed a week. The staff are friendly and helpful and when in Puerto Lopez, I enjoy staying here!

We arrived off the bus from Guayaquil and went looking for coffee. We found one 😀. The cafe at Hotel Ancora definitely has very good espresso coffee. I ordered a small strong Americano and it was perfect 👍
