This Forrest is located in the city of Pachoche. This was my first time here with a big group. The Forrest is mainly known for its monkeys. We had a good tour guide by the name of Galo. He's a very hard working man, and he loves his job. He showed us a lot about the tarantula in their habitats and a lot about the ancient trees there that are over 150 years old. This is definitely an experience everyone should have. Half of the tour was all nature, meaning no handrails just hiking. It was a lot of fun and Mr.Galo showed us a great time. We got to see a lot of monkeys and learned about them as well. I can't wait for my next trip back to Ecuador so I can go again 😁🐵🐵👍

The lodge is lovely. The hike is incredibly beautiful too. There is 40 minute and a 20 minute shorter option. The family that runs the site is really kind and accommodating. You do need hiking boots. We managed to wing it in shoes, however it was very slippery and we came out totally covered in mud:). It was beautiful, and really worth it, even though our kids were loud enough to make all of the 3 families of monkeys decide to stay away for today!

Pacoche Lodge is located in a small town called Pacoche, if you love trekking, there are two trails (short one and long one) where you can enjoy nature, there are howler monkeys, birds (lots of birds) and insects. The service is very good, the personal is kind and the cuisine is delicious. You can spend the night in one cabin (there are two cabins). One recommendation, don't forget your boots.

We arranged and requested to visit the reserve on September 1st, after I spoke to Adolfo on the phone the night before who recommend it to arrive at 10:30am. We arrived there and there is no English speaking person to guide us, we specifically want it to see monkeys but apparently the monkeys are around either early morning or late afternoon, we are wondering why did we asked to arrive at 10:30!!! The place is not safe at all to walk, lots of water and muddy trails, it has lack of safety barrier. After walking for about 15 minutes, We asked the guide to cancel the reminder of the trail, but he insisted to continue claiming WE ARE ALMOST THERE, 3 of us keep falling until my wife fell and hurt her ankle. It is unsafe trail for this time of the year, and they supposed to advise us. Never again to this place for sure

Wow! It was raining hard while I was there but had a great hike anyway. Lush forest and muddy trails. Wildlife viewing would be better when it's not raining but still well worth the trip.

Beautiful jungle. We were lucky and saw howler monkeys. Trails are steep but not too long. Great local crafts.

This was an okay place but I don't think I'd want to come back here. The trails were extremely muddy and it took forever to get it off our shoes.

Nice place, well conserved environment, easy access, good directions inside the main tracks, good facilities (restaurant, lodge, small villages with basic services)

One of my best experiences. Nice place with cool view and the most important is not far from Manta City

Personally I felt it was a waste of my time. The hat weaving and nut carving displays were of lower quality than I had seen elsewhere and the very short walk in the forest, totally devoid of animal and bird life at least during my visit, was very disappointing. So poor that a mule walking around a sugar press was the highlight of my visit. Perhaps it is normally far more vibrant and your visit will be far more enjoyable??
