I originally booked a couple days, then cancelled the rest of my plans and stayed here for the remainder. Marilyn & Keith are so chill but still make sure all the little details of your trip are effortless. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience to my closest friends and family. Beautiful property, clean comfortable rooms, and caring staff.

I will stay here every time I come back to ayampe hands down.. rooms are spacious, complementary breakfast was on point every morning, beautiful layout of the common areas, even a yoga room equipped with mats to workout with. They also offer GYE airport transportation options.

Upon arriving I thought I booked too many days and that there wouldn’t be enough things to do but a day later I already felt the magic of the place and did not want to leave. Buena Vida is at a short walking distance from the beach and all the activities that the town has to offer for a physically active yet mentally calming holiday eg. Surf, yoga, mountain biking, beach volleyball. Joanna and her staff have been amazingly welcoming and helpful with tips on things to do and help with travel logistics. Visiting at the low season (June) had the perk of a calm holiday, getting to know the locals and the weather was still nice with sunny days without getting too hot. Highly recommend both Ayampe and staying at La Buena Vida. <3

I ended up last minute switching from another hotel to La Buena Vida. The owner was so kind in getting me a room last minute at an affordable price. The property is lovely with lots of plants and garden all around. The room was cleaned each day, the showers are full power and hot, the rooms have a/c, a lock box, toiletries and my favorite was the complimentary breakfast. They have a menu you could choose from. I eat vegan myself and they were able to cater to that. Delicious smoothies and also homemade bread for the avocado toast…yummm! They have an extra yoga room I used to do my yoga practice in that could easily be used for workout, stretching, etc. Everyone that works here was very helpful in letting me know of places to go and how to navigate the bus. It’s set back from the beach a little but you can still hear the ocean from your room. The beach is only a 5 minute walk. If your reading this book your stay with La Buena Vida ☺️ I was very happy with my stay here and will be booking for my next stay in Ayampe! Excellent week & a great time! Rooms very nice and always cleaned well, breakfast was very tasty: coffee, fresh fruits, juices, and more. Even though the location is not advertised as "on the beach" it is ~5min walk away (honestly, an enjoyable and pleasant walk). Everyone - from guests to employees -- is super friendly. It was home away from home! Shout-out to Keith from mineral surfboards ... awesome dude. I don't return to places often but this is certainly a place i would come back to in the future. Awesome place to stay! Marilyn & Keith go out of their way to accommodate their guests. The breakfasts are amazing, as is the make your own salad bar. Rooms are clean & super comfortable. The staff at La Buena Vida are courteous & friendly. I would definitely stay again!

the good: - hot water - very good mattress - very good breakfast the bad: - next to the highway, so you hear the sounds of giant truck brakes all night, not the waves - they charged the same for two people sharing a room as if we had two separate rooms. felt sort of ridiculous. conclusion: felt slightly overpriced, would not stay again and would not recommend.
