This museum exhibits the history of the Salango Community, various artifacts recovered in excavations including court spondylus necklaces and bracelets! The tour is self-guided and describes each artifact!! Here is the Casa Hacienda "La Tropical" rehabilitated by the Salango Community!! It is behind the Salango letters, ideal for a photo and in front of the sea!!

Fascinating and highly professional community run museum. A fine collection showing many thousands of years of people on this coast. The Salango location is special for the strong community with direct roots into the deep past right here. The museum is special for its focus on coastal culture, historic raft builders and long distance trade. These people were playing the Pacific swells to Mexico and Chile before Christ. Their descendants are still seafarers and are justifiably proud. Pro tip: the community also runs cabana accommodation on site. A great place to stay. Right by the beach.

Very beautiful place. It has interesting information about the town and its people. There are QR codes that take you to more information and super interesting 3D models. The house next to the museum is beautiful and the view of the sea is priceless.

A great little museum in Salango. We were lucky enough to have a walk-through with someone who had been in the area for years studying anthropology. It was really nice to learn a little bit of the local history. The courtyard outside the museum was beautiful as well.
