Small Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Muruga (Subramanya) is located on a small hill, called Mayilpaarai, which can be climbed easily enjoying picturesque scenery of around places. You can have darshan of Lord Ganesha first and then go to Muruga to get his blessings. There is Navagraha Sannadhi too. A calm and quiet place with fresh wind will greet you. Lovely place not to be missed and take your family.

Beautiful Temple located near by lake. The steps are easy to climb. Beware of dogs and cows. Although the temple will be closed with gate one can see the God and do prayers which is great advantage of the temple. Drinking water facilities may be installed in temple premises.

I loved this temple. It's in a small hillock. Need to climb around 50 steps. Very calm atmosphere. The view of the mountains from the temple is awesome. The temple is accessible in odd noon time too for tourists. However, Iyer/gurukal will not be available during the odd hours.

Another hidden gem.. As you climb steps, you will be greeted by cool breeze and beautiful view. If lucky you can see moving clouds playing hide and seek covering the moutains giving a glimpse of Mother nature's gift. Please do try the Jackfruits, star fruits from the old ladies selling thier wares

One must climb few steps to reach the temple to experience the peaceful atmosphere and get the blessings of Lord Murugan and Ganesh. The temple is located only few kilometers away from the Yelagiri lake so if you're a devotee of Lord Murugan then do visit this temple without fail. Due to Covid-19 and reduced tourism activity this temple acts as a good hangout spot for lovers and couples!

Nothing much to see here. You have to climb a series of steps to reach the temple. You have a decent view from the temple compound down to the trees and buildings further down.

Velavan Temple also called as Murugan Temple in Yelagiri is located on a small hill which is surrounded by full of greenery on all the slides of the hillrock. This temple is very neatly and cleanly maintained which left me with so much of suprise. One can either reach at the entrance of the temple and park the vehicle and climb few steps or can drive on kaccha road and reach till top of the hill but little risky road is not good, so we parked our vehicle down and enjoyed climbing the stairs in cold weather in the month of december. One can take nice view of the Yelagiri and take ample amount of pics from top of the hill after having the Darshan. Overall best temple to visit on early morning or evening and very good during cold weather.
