This is a small place and has only street parking. But if you like tres leches cake "pastel tres leches", you must give them a try. They have the best caramel, coconut and chocolate flavor tres leches cake in the Chicagoland area. This is primarily a husband and wife operation, and everything is made to order. If you have a large order, make sure you place your order 24 hours ahead of time over the phone or on line. They also have some breakfast and lunch sandwiches, alongside chilaquiles, burritos and quesadillas. I also recommend the Mayan hot chocolate, or Mexican hot chocolate. If you don't like hot chocolate, they have coffee as well.

Delicious! Been wanting to go here for years & finally made it. It was so worth the wait! The caramel tres leches was light & airy & wasn’t too sweet. The choco flan had a nice dense texture & deep chocolate flavor. The flan was creamy & dense too. Sooo good! Will return soon to try other flavors of tres leches.

Heard that the tres leches cakes here are amazing. Got the original vanilla tres leches and it's pretty good. It is my first ever tres leches cake and takes spongy and moist. It is only a bit too sweet for my taste but other than that it's recommended. I took also the iced version of the cappuccino, found it very good and light (some stores make it feel heavy with milk and cream).

I called in the morning and they kindly held two pieces of cake for me to pick up end of day for at home taste-test by the birthday kid - then made a same-day cake ready for him the next day! It was so delicious even if these other kids don't know what's good - tres leches is best cake hands down!

Most amazing tres leches cake in Chicago! I bought the 12-inch caramel tres leches for a birthday to share with 20 or so people. Every single person was raving about the cake! There was a lot to share with everyone, and each slice was consistent and perfectly made. In the special instructions, I asked whether they could place a birthday message on the cake and they did an excellent job accommodating my request for no extra cost. Truly great service. I would highly recommend this bakery for anyone who likes tres leches. Although we tried the caramel flavor (and loved it), we have also heard excellent things about the vanilla and chocolate versions. I will definitely be buying tres leches cake from here for future birthdays and celebrations.

My wife and I tried this place after hearing a lot of great things about it. We ordered a slice of the vanilla and coconut tres leches cake. They were amazing - no complaints at all. Absolutely delicious and the best tres leches I’ve had in Chicago. The cake was moist and packed with flavor - creamy with hints of coconut and vanilla that did not overpower but only accentuated the deliciousness of each bite. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, and American cheese - nothing too special for $6 but a decent sandwich. My wife also got the chipotle wrap which had generous portions of chicken, but was also nothing too spectacular. Even with the mediocre sandwiches, we would definitely go back for the tres leches cake.

I absolutely LOVE their tres leches. The dulce de leche is favorite and the vanilla with chocolate is my second favorite. They have other flavors avaialable, as well as choco flan. I live in the suburbs but any time I am in Chicago, I make sure to stop by and get something. If not I'm there every september to treat myself for my birthday lol

I’m sorry, but a place that calls itself a bakery shouldn’t have to put out baked goods that have been stored overnight, some wrapped in plastic. The lady behind the counter had a beautiful smile, but the man who told me it was take-out only and pointed out a little makeshift sign on one table was pretty matter-of-fact. So I paid almost six bucks for a coffee and a mediocre bagel and had to eat them across the street on the litter-strewn sidewalk in front of the apparently defunct “The Original MAXWELL ST. POLISH ITALIAN ICE” which has a not-too-filthy elbow-level counter to put my coffee and bagel on, and maybe even write three pages into my journal. I feel very Continental, and really glad it’s not raining nor snowing nor brutally hot! Just a little disappointed at what the immediate neighborhood has to offer in the way of a warm, inviting bakery cafe where I could write in my journal or catch up with friends…

The cafe is super cute and cozy. The coffee is great, and I loved the crossiants. The place is inexpensive and super affordable. The service is very nice and as of now they do carry out only. They do not have a place to sit, so keep that in mind when visiting! I'm excited to come back here and try other food items.

What a great place! Came in to get all the flavors of Tres Leches for my friend's birthday and she's in Heaven! She just keeps saying "oh my God" after every bite. Can't wait to visit again and try other menu items! Staff was extremely kind and personable. Would be a great place to meet friends for coffee or study if I lived in the city. Luckily I work downtown and can visit often!

I simply love this place. Been coming here for the past eight years to get some quiet time or meeting people for a coffee and quick bite. Located in Pilsen, right on Halsted people will often miss it if you ink but the neighborhood is very familiar. The cafe features sandwiches and hot plates of authentic Mexican dishes. They have the best cafe con leche, Mexican hot chocolate and standard coffee drinks. As the neighborhood has become increasingly gentrified, this place has reasonable prices and a welcoming and warm environment.

While the Tres Leches cake at Kristoffer's Bakery is decent, it's not the best I've had. If you're specifically seeking out Kristoffer's Bakery for their Tres Leches, I recommend double-checking which location you're visiting. The Kristoffer's Bakery at 1735 West 35th Street is generally regarded as superior for their cakes, including Tres Leches.

Been coming to this place for at least 5 years. Good coffee, good hot food, and AMAZING Tres Leches cake. Probably the best in the city. Unfortunately, there is no dine-in service at the moment, but the staff is still very welcoming. I feel the need to reiterate that their Tres Leches is AMAZING!!

Decent coffee, decent food. Eat it mostly for sustenance when I don't feel like cooking. Good go to when I can't be bothered

The best tres leches in the city. The nicest family runs the place. Great baked goods, awesome breakfast burritos, and their lattes are a great way to start of your day!

Best Tres Leches in Chicago. Been going here for over 8 years; they have managed to retain their quality and taste over time. The cakes are moist, soft and absolutely delicious. The Coconut flavour and the vanilla cake with chocolate topping are most liked among our friends and family. The chocolate filled croissants are quite delicious as well.

Honestly can’t say enough good things about Kristoffers. They made my wedding cake and I only get their tres leches for my birthday every year. It’s so so soft and delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness in each bite. I really like the coconut tres leches but my personal favorite is just the regular one. Really enjoy the Chocoflan, regular flan, house salad, and their pastries are always fresh! But if you’re in the area you MUST stop by for a slice Also highly highly recommend their lemonade, my mouth is watering just thinking of it right now. The owners are such a kind, sweet couple who make great conversation and always make you feel welcome.

Love this family shop! They are very kind people and everything is so fresh. Their pastries and horchata latte are to die for!
