Had the rib eye and it was good, nicely cooked and well seasoned. The sauces were probably unnecessary. Chose the salad on the side and enjoyed it. Vegetables were crunchy and refreshing. Garlic bread just OK, couldn’t really taste the garlic and felt like it was a bit dry. Pork ribs could be more tender but no complains about the flavours. Again, sauce felt very unnecessary. On the side, we had the mash which was not as smooth and creamy as I hoped for it to be. I like my mash buttery and creamy! Finally, dessert.. it was very good. We had the fried chocolate s’mores and it was so decadent and delicious. I left wanting more. Overall decent price point for the food. The decor was nice and restaurant was clean and bright. Waitress for the evening was a attentive and nice lady. Had a good experience overall!

We have dined in here a few times and never disappointed. Great food and nice atmosphere. I personally love the beef ribs. It’s popular and busy at times. This restaurant is surrounded by shops and very close to Perth Underground Train Station. Fully recommended!

Fantastic Dinner. Appropriately priced and very nice meal. It was pretty well booked as we only called the night before but we already could only book an outside table. We were lucky there had been a cancellation and got a table inside. Coming in from the suburbs, my only (slight) issue was with parking but we found the Queen Parking carpark was free at night.

Walked in with reservations on a Saturday lunch: luckily they still have table. However, I am sure I caught a slight dirty look at the service staff for not making any reservations. 🤣 Ordered their ribeye to try and it was ok. It is good, dun get me wrong, but I sort of expected better since it was H&B The flame char flavour is there and the flavour good. My partner order the fish taco and she said is was …..

Outstanding! Thankfully we left another place around the corner as the menu was very ordinary, we stumbled across this place and just wow! From go to woh it was perfect. We walked up and the young lady greeted us with a smile and sat us outside as we hadn't booked but the tables outside were fantastic with heaters and even the offer of a blanket for my wife! Excellent choice on the menu and just about every choice of either wine or beer with cocktails and spirits as well. Our food was truly outstanding. My wife was pleasantly surprised at the vegetarian options and I had a steak that I'm sure was made out of butter it was so tender. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive so we wanted for nothing but weren't bugged every 5 minutes. The atmosphere was light but classy with people in a mix of clothing. Cost, although a little pricey, in this instance it was you get what you pay for and I had no problem paying what we did. Our last night in Perth, thankyou for making it a pleasant one! Do yourself a favour and have a meal and a few drinks at this place, you won't be sorry!

We had dinner at Hunter and Barrel and it was the most unique one! The ribs are served on a wooden board - as they should - they come in full rack and half rack and even though we only had the half ones the portions were huge. The skewers came hung and the whole serving in itself was spectacular. The sauces used for grilling the meat were perfect. We also had cocktails and impressed. The best even were the desserts. The best bread pudding ever. A good place to enjoy good food!

Took my father in law out for a meal, what a great choice this place was. Service with a smile and pleasantries. The Mocktails were really nice especially the no-colda (Pineapple 🍍) The food was really well presented, good portions. We spent a pretty penny at 190 for us both without drinks... but it was in the city and I don't regret paying it.

The price is reasonable. Great place to hang out. Great service. Ordered medium well steak but it was more like well done. Still tasty so not complaining about it. Will come back to try their other menus.

I’ll start off by saying the interior was absolutely beautiful and the service was amazing also! The bar was absolutely stunning also. The food though was average, we got the chicken which was nice and cooked well and their roasted vegetables which was in my opinion not tasty, I wish they would revise that dish and make it more tasty and flavourful! we also tried their three cheese dip with pita which was so fluffy and cooked beautifully and the cheese dip was so tasty and came sizzling hot! Their drinks were also really nice, overall the food was average and if I were to come again I would try a steak and something a little bit more tasty

Booked it for lunch , has good atmosphere and music. Tried three cheese dips, flamed chicken, rotisserie chicken thigh . Loved it all. As we were there on public holiday no lunch menu available only ala carte menu.

We ordered full rack beef ribs, half rack pork ribs, wagu skewer, pork belly skewer, rib eye steak. EVERYTHING got demolished, excellent service. Bit on the pricy side but well worth it, all good was very very nice

The Tomahawks was medium and the meat pink plus bit burnt outside. For the portion of tomahawk 1.1kg only can have 1 side dish which is chips. Salads is extra pay if want to be added. Upset for this proportion it should be more generous for side dish. Overall the food just ok. Big shout out to the staff especially Nadia and Aharat has been very nice to us with great service. After giving the feedback we got treated for a free dessert for my Fiancé birthday.

A very sophisticated decor a choice of indoor or out with gas heaters great set up. Great menu had the pork served on a skewer with salad it was so tasty and reasonable portions. My friend had the pie and the beef just melted in your mouth it was so tender. Flights drinks was awesome got a taste of the house barrel tasting notes included a Tequila barrel which was so delish. My friend had the bourbon range which was thoroughly enjoyed. Friendly helpful staff.

Finally got to try this place after wanting to for years! I booked a day in advance and the only available time was 4:30pm, but we were okay with that and planned to eat lunch earlier. The restaurant was very quiet at that time, but the food and service were both excellent. We shared the calamari, T-bone steak, brocolini, and wagyu skewers, and everything was delicious. The server was friendly and helpful, and we had a great overall experience.

Hunter & Barrel in Perth provided an exceptional dining experience with an atmosphere that truly elevated our evening. The steak was a culinary masterpiece—delicious and perfectly cooked. The journey continued with a delightful cup of cappuccino, impressing us with its robust blend. Adding a sweet note to our experience, my partner savored the desserts, each a delightful treat. The ambiance at Hunter & Barrel contributed to the overall enjoyment, creating an amazing and memorable evening.

Our hostess Sophie was absolutely fantastic. She was funny and such a nice, warm, friendly person. Must say an absolute credit to your team Where we sat was fantastic. Food at its finest Choices were difficult to narrow down but with Sophie’s help we made what we feel were best choices. Dessert was a real struggle but definitely didn’t fail in expectation again thanks to Sophie. The whole evening sealed a beautiful anniversary dinner..Thank you and will be back and hopefully Sophie will once again be there X

It was a busy Thursday night yet the helpful staff still found us a seat in the bar area. The meals have a meat focus and a unique way of serving hanging skewers. There is a variety of steaks including large servings for two. All meals come with salad and chips and optional sides - get the corn, it’s delicious. I have had better steaks however it was still tasty and cooked as ordered. Worth a visit.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COST On Wednesday 11th Aug I booked a table for 2 at 8PM to celebrate missus’ birthday. Placed on a cornered table that is so small I can barely move my arms. > Asked for another location (upstairs) but was told it was full, to which I went to the toilet and checked upstairs. Only to find out it was not even close to 1/2 occupied. Asked for a bigger table instead but was told that table is booked for 3 people but no one came. > Waited close to 20 minutes before we got served after multiple times of raising hands and eye contact w/ your staff only to be ignored when it wasn’t even close to full. No effort to even ask if we want another table when multiple was clearly empty. Table service was appalling. Waitress came and took 2 starters away (Prawn & Calamari) w/o even confirming if we still want it before grabbing the plate. When the main course came, another waiter impatiently shove everything to the table and almost knocked my glass over. Was definitely sure we ordered Beef Ribs before the table behind us even sat down only for them to receive it first. To make it even worst the food was subpar, when I was actually looking forward to it. All the meat that was served is not juicy at all, it was dry and tough. No questions whatsoever how well we wanted it to be done. I don’t understand if your establishment is poorly managed / your staff is underpaid to the point where you can clearly see visible frustration when they do their job. I am genuinely shocked how disappointed I was by both the service and the taste of the food. What a waste of such a good restaurant. 1 star only for the aesthetics and drinks.

This is a beautiful restaurant with really good steak, can't praise that enough. The only reason I won't give this place 5 stars is because I had originally booked a reservation a month in advance and specifically requested to be seated upstairs along the couch, only to arrive there and have them tell us that they're too booked and placed us downstairs near the walkway and door. I'm not happy about this as there was another couple who came after us and got seated upstairs. If I book in a month advance for a special occasion I expected for the restaurant to fulfil thay request. It did take some time for the wait staff to come over and serve us and take our drink order. Overall the steaks were amazing and worth the hype but the service is poor. 5/10

A really good night out. Stand outs were the beef ribs and the New Yorker steak which were cooked to perfection as well as the attentive and knowledgeable staff. Really liked the dining atmosphere in the main room which was busy but also fun to be in. Only reason we didn't go the 5 stars was the side salads just need a bit of work to bring them up to the level of the mains.

I really enjoyed food. The steak was a little undercook(I wanted Medium) but flavour and texture were not bad. Good portion size of the side salad. I felt the corn was too much sauce under the corn and too much liquid smoke sauce. Otherwise was great except mosquito 😂

The ribs were terrific and the mash side was so yum! Steaks were cooked well, the salad dressing was quite sweet and didn’t come on the side as the menu said an the garlic butter lacked garlic. Overall great lunch I’ll be back 🙂

Was an excellently cooked steak - portion sizing may appear small, but I found it a refreshing change to feel satisfied and not so full I feel sick. The amount of care/service provided is what makes an eating out experience memorable. Thank you to all the staff who would check in, ensure everything was good, keep up the good work.

Situated in Raine Square we stopped by for lunch after watching a movie at Palace cinema. We had the $36 light lunch where you could choose 1 main, 1 entree or dessert and a house wine. The chicken skewers were delicious and juicy, you need to have it with the peri peri sauce. My sister picked the steak which was cooked perfectly. The marshmallow brownie combo didn't work for me but my sister liked it. Overall great value and friendly service.

One of my favourite places for a nice night out and meal in the city! The restaurant caters to a halal diet and serves amazing food! I love getting a steak and exploring all the different sides they offer! Definitely book in advance as it fills up quickly

Hard to fault this place after a lovely dinner. Nothing was great, so I didn't give it 5 stars but everything was so close ! The staff were friendly and accommodating without a booking, gave us water immediately and didn't wait for our wines either. All the food was good or excellent, I'd definitely recommend the cheese dipping plate and the lamb pie. The tacos and potatoes were also very nice though. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of room inside but they manage it very well, look forward to coming back again!

I didn't know anything about Hunter & Barrel but wasn't disappointed. We were seated on the mezzanine floor with a great view of the restaurant floor. We both ordered the signature skewers - mine was pork belly and my partners strip loin beef. Both were delicious 😋 it was very busy with so people trying to get a table through walk-in - not a chance. We had to book our table 2 weeks in advance for a 6.30pm dinner which speaks volumes.

Simple yet sophisticated dishes tailored to suit you. A unique spin on the hunting lodge it is design with an upmarket style. A place to put on your cocktail attire and dress up of the night. Drinks and meals impress. A little small and cramped downstairs. A small alfresco eating area. The space allows for long table events for special celebrations. Overall was a great impression.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and service that was honestly second to none, special thanks to Tara and her friendly and enthusiastic service We had the set menu. The bread starter was great and generously filled with delicious cheese. We had the fish tacos and melted trio of cheese dip for entrees; both were spot on. For the naive we had the steak and the lamb skewers. These came with broccolini and duck fat potato sides. The sides were delicious, as were the chips, salad and creamy mushroom sauce that accompanied the mains. The meat itself was flavoursome, however just say that it wasn’t the best beef/lamb we’ve had. For dessert we had the cheesecake and sorbet icecream; the icecream was refreshing and the cheesecake was one of the best we’ve tasted anywhere (although we wished it had a biscuit crust at the bottom) We also had drinks which were well made and refreshing All in all the set menu of great value, the venue is nice with a great atmosphere, and the staff were very accomodating and friendly. Highly recommended.

Perfect service and ambience. The food is the best we had in Perth! My partner is an ex-butcher and he raves about their steak being the best he has had. Highly recommend you visit this place! It is pricey but worth the cost as it is to die for. We ordered a few bits and out them in the middle to share and try it all. Very romantic atmosphere too.

Located in Raine Square you will find this place amongst other restaurants in a walking distance nearby but this place is definitely a must to visit if you have the opportunity. Very lifted atmosphere that fits family, catching up with friends or even dinner date with your love ones. They have varieties of alcohol drinks who likes it with their meal and same goes for those who don't drink but would like to taste it without any alcohol in it. Customer service was great and very friendly, food didn't take long to be served. Anyone who is a meat eater, this place is the place to be visited. From steak to ribs and even meat on skewer you can taste it here. Not sure what to have? Why not get a meat platter to share for two?? We did enjoyed our dining here and definitely be back here again. Strongly recommend to book as this place get really busy and walk in will missed out.

What a gem spot in Perth! This was some of the best food I've had, and the service was remarkable! The drinks were tasty, a great wine selection. The deserts as you can see are just mouth watering as was dinner...but the sweets definitely left the biggest smile!

This place never disappoints! Been here a few times but this visit was exceptional. For starters we had the tasting board in which the chicken wings and calamari were the winners for me, bread and butter was average. Mains I had the wagyu skewer with salad (salad was addicting), truffles potatoes and chips which were all grand! Great staff, service and ambiance

Had lunch special today , and it was very delicious . Calamari and sauce was really nice and steak , chips and salad was perfect. Service was great ! Truly enjoyed our lunch and a great value also.

The ribs were okay (my meal) fries on the side. Great smokey flavor, but the sauce did let the dish down a bit. Not a fan of a chopping board for a plate. The steaks presentation was very lacking, felt very uninspired (see photo). Only sides included were fries or a salad. Why not both to fill the plate? In my opinion a sides of mash + greens should be standard to tailor a premium experience for a steakhouse of this caliber. Premium prices, for a pub meal like experience.

  • 5/5 Callum Van W. 1 year ago on Google
Incredible steakhouse in the heart of Perth. Superb service and cozy but comfortable seating. The share plate of appetizers was a phenomenal choice, with each item standing out. The wings were amazing but my personal favourite was the cold cut wagyu. Unlike any other cold cut I've had. Garlic bread and calamari also fantastic. Ordered their biggest steak medium rare and was very satisfied. The chips served with it were packed with flavour and fried to perfection. Expensive, but you get value for every dollar. Unable to fault any part of the meal, service or location.

Recommended to me by a friend. I didn't reserve, but went in between lunch and dinner to ask for a table for one. Service is impeccable, the restaurant itself is gorgeous and the quality of the food is great. It took a little while for the food to come out and my steak was a bit more cooked than I wished for. But I definitely recommend eating there. Dessert was to die for!

The prawn tacos had a fresh, crunchy zing and a generous portion. The tomahawk was cooked really well, all fat rendered, good seasoning, great char and the chips were very nice too. We got the seasonal veg which had a sesame dressing and was really good. The barrel aged negroni wasnt special but it was well made. The staff were really courteous and made room for our young daughter and helped to entertain her. I'm looking forward to going back.

Maybe I was in the mood for it, maybe it was just that good. Good quality all round. I like timber settings so that rated highly for me. Can’t go wrong with a good steak and this one was cooked well and as per my request (rare). Great value for a lunch time special. I had the two course meal with calamari tacos, 200g rump steak and a glass of red all for $32! I moving to Perth, bye family! 😂 Compliments to the chef and compliments to the kind and attentive wait staff.

Some great dishes in a nice, open environment. Tasty delicious burger, wings and of course the chicken thighs on a skewer. Chips were at least double cooked as crispy on the inside and crunchy on the outsides. The burger was nicely done, not sloppy but well seasoned and with some great flavors. They were opening up post-Covid and had some restrictions but was quite reasonable. Nice decor and open feel made it a great overall experience.

Went there with family for dinner. Overall, the food was very good and service was also very fast considering the restaurant was full. I had an Eye Fillet (medium-well) with mushroom sauce and crispy chips, including some calamari. The steak was a little dry but the sauce helped fix that and the chips were near perfect. I was very satisfied, will visit again sometime.

This was an ABSOLUTE experience!!!!!! 10/10!!! Took my hubby for his birthday and was our very first time trying it too. I got the pork ribs and he got the rib eye steak. It was beyond delicious!! Cant describe how good the food actually was... needless to say, i sent my hubby to cloud nine hahaa the steak was juicy and had a perfect medium rare, pork fell off the bone, sauces were delicious; can tell it's made from scratch and chips fried to perfection. And for dessert, we have an apple tart and a chocolate s'more. Absolutely delicious!! And we even got to taste a couple of dessert wines aswell!! As by my request, the staff sang happy birthday to my hubby. You have your own staff member serving you. We had Sophie who was really friendly, had good humour, made us feel welcomed and comfortable and had a really good conversation with her. Brilliant customer service!! And all the other staff greeted us too!! They were friendly and all had a smile on their faces. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Beers too expensive with $16 a pint being the cheapest. We paid $90 for the set menu and they had the nerve to charge us extra for a small bowl of gravy / jus. The waiter offered it to us as though it was included in the set menu but he didn't tell us it was an extra cost. $6 for gravy seems a bit expensive also when you're already paying $90 for the set menu. The duck sausage roll was not crispy, the pastry was closer to raw than cooked in some parts. It was saved by the fact the flavours were good and well balanced with the sweet sauce and sour pickles. The rump skewer we ordered medium rare but half the pieces on the skewer were well done while the other half were medium rare. It was nicely browned and taste was acceptable but not amazing. The sides were reasonable but again nothing wow'd me. The S'more was good but I noticed that others at the table had their ice cream melting into a giant puddle whereas mine was only just starting to melt. Need more dessert options because I didn't want either choice. In general the food tasted good but was not amazing. Overall if you want to charge these high prices for everything then everything needs to be absolutely perfect, rather than "good enough". I walked away with $141 bill for 1 person for lunch. The atmosphere was good. Service could have been 5 star if they hadn't neglected to tell us gravy/jus was an extra cost.

The venue was beautiful, very modern, well hunter themed, great facilities, awesome tables chairs and cutlery. The drinks where amazing, huge variety of cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, and a very well stocked bar. The food was excellent, timely, well prepared, good portion sizes. I very much enjoyed the excellent meals! Next time I will see if I can fit desert!

I took my family there just after the Perth Covid 5 day lockdown to celebrate my birthday. That was my 3rd time dining there but it was the first for my family. The Mrs and the kids were really impressed with the service, the ambiance and ofcourse the food. We had the tomahawk steak, wagyu beef, swordfish and pork belly skewers. The staff through in a small surprise as well, which was really the cherry on top, a mini birthday cake and a free drink. Well done guys, see you again soon!

The best service ever - I love how quick and friendly the waiters were and they explained the menu clearly. I loved the cheese dip!! It was so tasty and so was the calamari entree. I did find however the wagyu skewer to be very dry and chewy, possibly from it being over cooked.

Good for lunch with work-mates. Highly enjoyable. Ask for the sauce that comes with the corn-on-the-cob, (smokey yum!), But the corn it's self was watery

Went here after a recommendation by a friend, was not disappointed. I had lamb cutlets which were delicious and thoroughly enjoyed it, will be back.

The food and the service was just great! Have in mind that the servings are very generous. Being an Argentinian and having high standards for grilled beef, these guys have exceeded my expectations. We ordered - feast for two. (Well enough for 3 people) - asado ribs (these ones, just superb!) - honey glazed pork belly skewers Totally would recommend. As for its Price, it’s not cheap. But it’s definitely worth the money.

This was a shambles from the start. Table was sticky. Wanted an orchard crush cider ( bottle advertised) and none in stock. Liquorland just a few steps away. Was told there was no ribeye left amongst other things. Ribeye was highlight of steak menu. Ordered a lager and lime half measure and received a schooner glass half full with no lime. Had to go to bar and rectify. Paid for a burger and chips and chicken skewer and chips, came to $60. Shocking. Chicken was nice but burger could have been from hungry jacks. Chips were saltier than the indian ocean. Place is a joke. DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! STEVE, PERTH ( thoroughly pee'd off!)

I've had too many mixed experiences, and had to send too many steaks back for being overcooked. Then I get this ribeye with no cap, it's basically an overpriced sirloin. Food is tasty otherwise, especially the jus.

We shared a 700g T-bone between two of us, chef perfectly and the meat was tender and tasty. The service was friendly and quite fast which was good because we were hungry after a long day at work. We used a discounted BEST Restaurants gift voucher to save a few dollars. They charge surcharges for any credit cards that are used, only gift cards and savings get no surcharge.

This is a delivery review - $40 plus delivery for 3 cutlets that tasted like charcoal and a very thin layer of mash. Delivery not recommended.

Worst customer service ever. Never been told to “work it out” when asked for a split bill. The waitress was rude and unkind. Plus it took 30 minutes to get sauce for the chips...

Food is decent but grossly overpriced. Service is very good, they have a lot of attentive staff. We ordered one entree and two mains: bruschetta was good, pork was overcooked (mash was excellent) and wagyu pie was burnt (filling was decent, side salad was tasty). $96 without drinks is really pushing it a bit especially with Ficus one block away. We really want to like this place but every time we try it on average has been disappointing.

Really nice atmosphere. We were originally rated right near main desk but were accommodated when we asked to move somewhere less busy. Definitely recommend making a booking as it does get busy! The cocktails are fabulous and the 3 cheese dip is to die for! The meat on the skewers was a little dry but nice flavours. Service was wonderful.

Just wanted to say that we had a wonderful night at Hunter and barrel yesterday! The food was absolutely delicious! The cocktails were amazing! And all the staff we interacted with were very friendly and extremely attentive and helpful! We will definitely be back! And we have already recommended your restaurant to others! The entire team met and exceed our expectations last night! We wish you and your team a very happy Christmas and all the best in the new year!
