The
as-Salt
Archaeological
Museum
showcases
in
an
atmospheric
Ottoman
era
heritage
building
a
very
attractive
selection
of
artifacts
from
archaeological
sites
located
in
the
al-Balqa'
district
of
the
Hashemite
Kingdom
of
Jordan.
The
museum
curator
and
staff
are
very
helpful
going
the
extra
mile
to
make
the
visit
a
pleasant
affair.
The
artifacts
are
very
attractive
indeed
and
are
presented
chronologically
from
the
Stone
Age
all
the
way
to
the
Ottoman
Period.
Among
the
items
displayed,
it
bears
mentioning
a
3,500
year
old
clay
tablet
from
the
Jordan
Valley
written
in
an
indecipherable
script.
There
are
very
good
informative
panels
and
the
showcased
items
are
well
labeled.
There
are
two
floors
(access
by
stairs
only)
with
a
total
of
4
galleries.
A
visit
to
as-Salt
is
not
complete
without
a
visit
to
its
archaeological
museum.
The
entry
fee
is
just
2
JOD.
It
is
highly
recommended
due
to
its
quality,
value,
friendly
staff
and
central
location
(walking
distance
from
intercity
bus
station).
