I do liked and loved my experience at the Jordan museum, it literally shows lots of Jordan history along with most valuable things and obstacles of the current situation of the Jordanians life with a great link of the history of most of the culturals and civilizations that been in Jordan along the history... And I do highly liked how they built and categorized sections inside the museum to tell a story of our Jordan and the and the civilizations to the current and today's life. I extremely encouraged everyone to give Jordan museum a visit and see, interact and understand more about the Arabian alphabets history and everything in between of the Arabs and Jordan stories.

It's a nice museum with a variety of displays and artifacts. The entry fee for Jordanians is 1 JD only. You're allowed to take photos but without flash. You could spend an hour or more there depending on how quick you go through everything. They have clean bathrooms and they are wheelchair accessible; they even have hangers in the stalls. I enjoyed my visit there and it's a learning experience that you can enjoy.

Fascinating museum with excellent exhibits. The actual viewing times are limited; the museum stops admitting visitors at 2pm and closes at 3pm and is not open at all on some days. Non-flash photography is allowed, except in the Dead Sea scrolls gallery.

Incredible display of the Jordanian culture, past and Heritage. The exhibition is extremely well developed and is one of the most complete and extended ones I've seen on the region. I must say that the machine where you can write your name in 5 different evolutions of the Arabic language used in the area was one of our fav, plus being able to print it!!!

(Translated by Google) One of the most beautiful places that you can visit ,,, the most beautiful pavilion is the exhibition of a thousand inventions and inventions ,,, taking you on an imaginary journey to the Islamic golden ages It is suitable for families and school students, and it has interactive exhibits as well as very interesting graphic shows for those who watch them. There are models of scientists carved with wax that you think are real. Each corner has a guide who explains and elaborates on the existing personality. There is a high mastery of workmanship, large areas, uncluttered, clean, imprinting the greatness of Islamic achievements and depicting part of their lives such as clothing, general appearance, and so on. A place worth visiting I think it was closed during this period due to Corona. Loved it! Super interesting and engaging museum. The innovation exhibition is one of the most exciting ones I've visited; so much ingeniosity and potential to expand those ideas across the world, especially regarding sustainable sources or energy and water management.

Like the other museums in Amman, this museum also catches the eye. The museum is divided into two parts. The ground floor is more of the archaeological artifacts, the history of Jordan and the Arab world. The exhibits here, especially the dead sea scrolls, are impressive. The 1st floor is more of an interactive type exhibits. A wide variety of games here for the kids to enjoy. The place is very clean and well organized.

Very interseting and organized. I really learned alot and had a wonderful time. The interactive technology used to teach kids facts about history is both impressive and engaging which makes the museum a good place to take children to. The staff is extremely sweet and helpful! Very eager for young people to visit. There are discounts for students as well so u pay next to nothing to enter (arab nationalities). We payed 0.25 JOD for each student! As for non student Arabs we payed 1 JOD which is also great! I belive non arab nationalities pay 5 JOD (not sure though).

I had a very enjoyable time here, not so much because of the exhibits on permanent display downstairs, but because of the temporary traveling exhibit upstairs, 1001 Inventions. It's very informative about things that were invented/created in this region of the world back many centuries ago. The presentation was excellent, beginning with a very captivating short 10 minute video. Highly recommend the 1001 Invention exhibit.

Absolutely brilliant museum and in my opinion, a must visit if you're in Amman. You'll journey through history and learn about the Nabateans who became wealthy through trade, architecture and were known as the masters of water engineering. By the way, did you know that Jordan suffers from a severe water shortage and is one of the driest countries in the world? There's also stone inscriptions containing various ancient languages. You can view dead sea scrolls as well which is fascinating! There's even a copper scroll containing inscriptions of hidden legendary treasure. You'll learn more about green energy and power conservation and how Jordan plans to implement more sustainable and renewable energy methods like harnessing the power of wind to go all natural and non polluting or use the power of the sun for solar energy. Theres also a section where you can translate your name to various different languages and actually print it to take it home. There's a lot of interactive screens which i love. Information is concise and informative. I enjoyed this museum.

A very good, modern, well arranged museum for a fair 5 JOD entry fee. A perfect start for your travel in Jordan. It's not too big, not too much input, but it gives you some idea and general background for this amazing country. Some artifacts from Petra and the Dead Sea Scrolls can be found here as well. I enjoyed it very much! Have cash on you and alocate ca. 2h for your visit. Check the opening times!

Museum seems to have been renovated which is appealing. I thought it was child friendly, lots of interactive experiences, in particular upstairs so this is quite nice. Overall, other than Dead Sea Scrolls, much disappointed that a country rich with history has very little. A few exhibits were copies and originals were held elsewhere. Can’t take photos of Dead Sea Scrolls. Entry is not included with Jordan Pass. 5JD entry for foreigners. Will say, nice helpful staff. 20 mins walk from Roman Theatre about another 20 mins to Rainbow Street.

One of the most amazing and beautiful museums I've ever been into in my life, even though I visited more than 10 countries! 😍 Here, you will feel the scent of the ancient Greeks who lived here in Jordan before. A lot of Greek remnants are in this place, and if you visited Greece before, you'll just feel you're there 🇬🇷💙 You'll feel the past crossing into the present in a very beautiful way. It's indeed a relatively big museum comparing to others in Jordan. If you plan to visit it, you should leave at least 4 hours for it. Bring your friends and families and enjoy the past to the fullest! 😍❤️

This focuses on the prehistory of Jordan through to the Christian period, with most focus on prehistory. It's well designed and laid out, though it was disappointing for me that there was no coverage of the early Arab periods also. It's accessible to wheelchair users, but there's not much in the way of seating or opportunities to do so inside - if you can't stand or walk for long periods, bear this in mind. There's been lots of effort at interactivity, the current temporary exhibition especially, and it's well laid out with carefully chosen exhibits and good information boards. At 5JD for tourists, if you are on a tight budget, this is good if you won't get to Petra Museum, but, unless you have some background in archaeology, probably not essential otherwise. At 5JD

Important museum exhibiting many various artefacts from different periods. They have some of the Dead Sea Scrolls (no photos)! And a 3,699 year old wall painting. It’s more high tech than the Archaeological Museum but sparsely filled. If they out the two museums together it would be better. This one is a bit mishmash. Still, an excellent museum

Modern museum with some interesting exhibits, including the oldest known human statues. The displays are themed around human occupation of the area now called Jordan but the focus is on events long before the creation of the country. The displays are well labelled in Arabic and English. The building is airy and spacious. The only refreshment option is a coffee machine.

The Jordan museum is mostly about the history of Jordan. The exhibits are very well done however I think for most people most of the exhibits aren’t very interesting. There are however two exhibits that I did think were interesting. First is the Dead Sea scrolls and you can even see Dead Sea scroll fragments. However you are not allowed to take pictures. Second is the inventions exhibition

Nice museum. Large, quality collection. Well-arranged chronologically from cave man times until the byzantine era. (Strangely Islamic and modern history are completely ignored, except for a special exhibition about Islamic inventions on a separate floor.) Good summaries and item labels in English. Entrance is confusing if not arriving by car: if you enter via the east, go to the fence and get the guard to let you in. They also kick everyone out 15 min before closing time, so it really closes at 4:45. 5JD for foreigners.

An impressively designed and executed showpiece museum of Jordan's cultural history. Does not overwhelm with pieces but does an excellent job with its interpretive displays of explaining what is there, and of placing Jordan's history in the context of the development of systems and technology in the wider world. For instance, one room dedicated to explaining the history of the alphabet from Egyptian hieroglyphics to the Sumerian proto-alphabet on to modern languages was superb, including working computer screens at which you enter your name in English or Arabic and receive a printed page of how your name would have been written in past languages and alphabets. The museum's second floor is a kid-friendly series of displays explaining ancient developments in technology creatively and attractively done. The museum's architectural design is striking and don't miss the fascinating display on the Dead Sea scrolls from Qumran.

We were lucky to get a chance to be in Amman for 4 days. Jordan Museum is a must see to understand in general how civilizations evolved in this area till date whether it pottery, coins of nabatean period, tools for hunting and stone carving etc. You need minimum 2-3 hours to see everything at a glance. There is a section for kids with some interesting games as well as a theatre for small documentary movie. Entry fee is JD and it's NOT included in Jordan pass. We had read the entry was free for pass holders but it seems they have changed it. It's around 5JD per person for foreign nationals. Don't miss this attraction!

This museum does an excellent job of mixing formats for teaching visitors about the region. The first floor has the classic format of displaying items of interest and providing signage in Arabic and English. It pretty thorough even though there's not a lot of square footage. In the center of all the historical information that spans beyond Jordan's borders, you also get insight into modern day Jordan -- obstacles they are facing and what they're doing to deal with environmental issues, especially. The second floor is an interactive portion of the museum, which I think is meant to be geared towards children, but as an adult, I enjoyed it very much. There are video displays everywhere. If you don't feel like watching a video, you can still read plenty of signage in Arabic and English. You'll learn all about contributions individuals from the broader region made to astronomy, mathematics, medicine, and more. I think it's worth the 5 dinars and 2 hours of anyone's time.

The museum features part of the Dead Sea scrolls and many other artifacts from ancient times all the way to today and you can comfortably spend 2 hours+ looking around. If arriving on foot then the signage is poor due to works being done nearby but you enter the premises where the barriers are.

(Translated by Google) The place is clean, the entry fare is illogical, the variety does not exist, a bad experience for tourists as it is not distinguished by anything, and the accessibility to the site is repulsive. Only one- floor exhibition available The water exhibit was good and instructive, yet others were plain One interesting experience was that you could type in ur name on the computer to get a free paper with ur names translated into several old languages. 5 jd per person, Jordan pass unavailable (a bit expensive considering the exhibition they offered. For instance, Petra museum was more well organized and was included in the Jordan Pass.) U need to find somewhere to park, either alongside the street or in some parking lots nearby

I really loved this museum. It was one of the first things we visited in Jordan and it was a great introduction to the history and the culture of this country. The museum includes a collection of remarkable tools and statues, inuding what is currently thought to be the most ancient statue made by humankind (8000 BC). Some of the Dead Sea scrolls (a.k.a. Qumran Scrolls) are also displayed in the museum.

Very interesting musem about Jordan's history, society and culture. There is also a very intruiging and interactive exhibition on the second floor, mostly children-oriented (your kids will love it, it has lots of interactive and educational activities, based on Arab history and science). Be aware, the museum is unfortunately NOT included in the (rip-off) Jordan Pass. So, you'll have to pay additional 5 JD/person for the entrance. But it is worth it.

The Museum, as defined by the World Council of Museums as is an institution that cares for a collection of artifacts and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific importance, and development of the community, is open to the public, collecting, preserving, researching, communicating and presenting the human heritage and its development for the purposes of education. There are tens of thousands of museums around the world that are interested in collecting objects of scientific, artistic or historical value and making them available to the public through exhibits that may be permanent or temporary. The Arabic Encyclopedia defines it as a "house for the preservation of ancient monuments, rare antiques, masterpieces of sculptures and paintings, and all related to cultural heritage." The museum may include works of art, history and technology. The word "museum" in Arabic means the place where rare and precious objects are collected and valued as time passes. The origin of the English Museum is the Greek origin of the word "mountain lady".The first museum for the public was opened in 1683 at the University of Oxford in London. It presented a collection of strange and rare things given by the English scholar Elias Ashmul to the university. In the late 20th century, many museums introduced new systems using modern technology, Computer equipment, sound, light and video presentations, which have made museums more dynamic and attractive, and helped improve the cultural mission of the museums You can also find many types of museums in the world: - National Museums: It includes collections of fine art, such as those found in Austria, France, Holland, Spain. - Art museums: which show only works of art, such as the Louvre Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of New York and the National Gallery of London. - Scientific Museums: They provide exhibits on natural and technical sciences, also called natural history museums. - Historical Museums: They depict the life of the past, and documents.

The museum is truly beautiful and an excellent destination for a family outing. There are numerous engaging activities for children that make it even more enjoyable. However, it's essential to be cautious about the reviews here. Some of them seem suspicious and could be scams, enticing people with false promises of high-paid jobs in exchange for writing positive reviews. It's always wise to approach online reviews with a critical eye and verify their credibility before making decisions based on them

This museum provides a lovely cross-section and insight of the history of Jordan all the way from super ancient to contemporary. The weave in a nice narrative about how food, trade and water have always and continue to be important factors for the region. Great display and the Dead Sea scrolls are really stunning!

Great Museum Highly recommended to visit if you come to Amman. It's show the Jordanian civilization and historyin a very modern way. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they make you comfortable during your tour which will take you 2 hours to finish it. The enterence cost 1 JOD for Arabic language speakers and 5 JOD for non-Arabic language speakers people.

An amazing place to go and get to know Jordan's history. The thousand inventions floor is also mind blowing. I'm proud that such a place exists in Jordan.

There was a very educational exhibition around energy consumption and development in Jordan. Probably mostly Jordan interest, if you are not energy interested. A funny and really well-made exhibition about Arabic storytelling and technology development but many parts of the normal exhibition was really worldclass because of the very unique objects. Place fix the square in front of the museum. Will give a better first impression

5 JD for foreigners. Small collection that covers history of the land and people of Jordan. All exhibits had English text which was very nice. Good place to visit if you have extra time in Amman.
