👍👍 The cave bar in Petra is unique in its genre. It is carved in the sandy stone because it once was a tomb of the local population. Great spot right at the entrance to Petra, we visited during Ramadan so no alcohol but the tea was delicious and the service wonderful. It's an experience you should take in if visiting Petra.

This was the worst dining experience we have ever had. We came back from Petra in the afternoon for a drink, we were initially pleased with the service and decided to come back for diner. Reading up the reviews I realized that there was an happy hour that we were not made aware of. Our waiter graciously offered my wife another glass of wine in exchange for a good review on Trip Advisor. Turned out the glass of wine was probably on their happy hour. For dinner, we had basically no service. We had to catch the attention of waiters every single time, from getting their menu to ordering drinks and food. We ordered two beef fillet steak only to received one fillet and flank steak. At that point I already asked for the manager who then apologized for the absolute lack of service and returned my plate to offer me their best beef fillet steak. They obviously rushed the kitchen and my steak was raw inside. Also, I didn’t appreciate that I didn’t receive what was specified on the menu and if I didn’t know the difference between a flank and a fillet, it would have gone unnoticed. The manager tried to make things better by offering us an additional round of drinks and took 20% off our bill but at this point there was coming back. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and shouldn’t have accepted additional patrons that they could not accommodate.

Essential stop for a beer in the oldest bar in the world. You will have earned it after 16 miles of hiking around Petra

I cant think of a better way to end a day in Petra than going to the cave Bar. ❤️ The drinks were so good, the cocktails were amazing & Zeyad is an outstanding example of an welcoming, very nice and respectful waiter. Highly recommended!!

Pro: The atmosphere is perfect, the service was great, and the beer was nice and cold. Con: Everything is overpriced and the cocktails are truly awful. Summary: Expect a memorable moment for photos, but don't expect a good bar, despite the name.

Forming part of the Petra Guest House, this bar is set in a cave, carved out of the rock by the Nabataean people as a tomb 2,000 years ago. This alone makes it pretty special! Plenty of seating areas inside and outside, with the former being cool and intimate in the evening. Given its proximity to the entrance to the archaeological site, it’s naturally full of tourists (us included) and prices are a little high (but not exceptional so). Also it’s one of only three places in the city serving alcohol. Service can be a little slow at times when it’s busy, plus some of the seating areas are difficult for the serving staff to see. Nevertheless, an excellent place to visit.

Just a tourist trap, nothing really special and the service is bad. They say it's an ancient tomb but it looks like machine made. The service was slow and the last drink I ordered they never delivered. It's not very expensive. It's a good place to have a beer if you want to have the experience but don't expect much.

Can't believe this place isn't packed all the time. I usually a lid places right next to an attraction, but this is not an attraction-style restaurant. The food quality (and taste) was exceptional, the prices are actually lower than the tourist restaurants and the atmosphere obviously can't be beat, you're eating in an actual cave, quite beautiful. Service is top-notch. The low prices are shocking for the food and service we received. Highly recommended.

This bar is just fantastic: carved out of a cave, the atmosphere is absolutely magic. After a long day hiking in Petra having a cold beer right after so many kilometers feel just perfect. It's indeed a bit pricey, but that what you could expect from a stylish place in such an iconic historical location.

Stayed at the hotel because of the looks of the bar. Loved it. Definitely try the local beer on tap "Petra". Hope to return. Relaxing atmosphere in a "tomb" setting. Food and service was excellent. Very highly recommended.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Surprised by the “low” prices. Yes it’s not cheap, but compared to the other tourist traps around it - very good quality for money.

Amazing place to have a beer and some food! Big portions and surprisingly the price for food is much more affordable comparing to the other restaurants around in this area, plus amazing service by Zeyad! :)

Love this place. Visited several time in the last week and always happy. Sit indoors for a full, cosy, experience, or outside to enjoy the warm evenings. Salah, our server on all nights was super, as was manager Ja'far; thank you to them and all staff!

The cafe itself is cool but the food and service was just ok. The server only gave us menu for food and didn’t bother to give us menu for drinks. They don’t even have mint-lemon juice.

Highly recommended for a drink or dinner/lunch after a long visit of the amazing petra. Food, drinks and service were great. Highly recommend the jordanian mezza. Not be missed if visiting Petra.

Atmosphere and drinks were very good. You do have to get the servers attention, which is fine, but something to be aware of. The food was ok if you went through the hotel. The food on the bar menu was better.

We LOVED Cave Bar!! Very cool and welcoming establishment: family friendly and also a great hangout for a cold Petra beer after all the walking you’ll do. The food and drinks are very good and well priced with a quick and friendly service, and it is the closest you’ll get to the Petra entrance. But more than anything we cannot express enough thanks to the Manager Ja’afar for making our visit to Jordan and Petra so enjoyable. He is wonderful! He gave us the tips and advice we needed to get the best out of our stay in Jordan. Incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful, let alone warm, friendly and hospitable to say the least. We would highly recommend Cave Bar to all and will definitely be returning here on our next trip. Shout out to Khaled as well, he’s got a great sense of humour! Thanks Cave Bar! Anita and Chris x

Great location near to Petra entrance gate. Restaurant and bar. Would recommend booking ahead as busy with limited seating indoors. Live music, great atmosphere.

The detail and atmosphere of this place is very cool. We had a drink inside the cave part and later moved outside to the terrace. Service was very good, Mohammad was very helpful. Highly recommend a visit here. We had the local wine and a margarita-both great!

t's almost a crime to visit Petra and miss the oldest bar in the world. Occupying a 2000-year-old Nabataean rock tomb,

Incredible atmosphere! This bar is made inside the rock and thanks to its luxury architecture it is a magic place where spending some hours with friends or girlfriend! Price are not high and we tried several cocktails and they were all amazing! I really suggest you to go after dinner because the atmosphere in the night is magic!

Come here for the atmosphere and the amazing AC after a tiring but beautiful journey from Petra, the lost city. Beautifully located and can really be spotted from a distance from Petra visitor centre. This place is one of its kind, cave like ambience from inside, very hep, nice crowd and a little on the expensive side but totally worth the price because of the feel. One of the rare places to get alcohol on the vicinity. Very few veg food options though.

Really nice venue, polite and funny staff, and plenty of choices to sit inside and out. But if you're looking for a cheap drink this not the place. 8.50JD for one beer, which equates to about a tenner. When you understand the cost of things in Jordan at the domestic rates, this is genuine extortion. But, when there's little choice...
