It is probably the best hostel that you can stay if you are in Amman. The staff is so polite and helpful, rooms are spacious and beds are so confortable with private room on it. With many common areas on each floor and near many restaurants, definitely recommend it, you’ll meet amazing solo travelers here!

The Wanderers is a great place to crash in Amman. The staff are honest, friendly and don’t get in your way. They do a great job organising events like movie and game nights so guests can get to know each other without it being forced. This helps in planning excursions with fellow guests so you can save some money on taxi rides and have a larger group as you travel. The team is also immensely knowledgeable about the area and how to manoeuvre as guests in Jordan. Whether it’s going to Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Musa or the Citadel — they have your back. The best compliment I can give is that they are HONEST. My credit card payment had not gone through upon check-in so I paid in cash my first day. Later on, I was happily informed that I had in fact paid online and I was kindly returned my cash. The experience was so great that I came back to stay after a short circuit around Jordan and plan to return after visiting other countries in the region.

I had an amazing experience here. It is clean, the rooms are very nice and comfortable and the employees are wonderful. I would definitely come back here, and also recommend this hostel to anyone spending time in Amman. It is placed within walking distance of many of the biggest sights in Amman which makes it perfect for travelers of any kind

Best hostel I ever stayed at!! The staff is super friendly, location is good and the communal areas are cozy (including a rooftop!). There is a big kitchen where you can cook, make tea etc. and there is also a big water cooler. The beds are a little bit bigger than normal 1 persons bed with comfy mattresses and curtains. The vibe in the hostel is super good, if you are travelling by yourself but also with others I really recommend this place to stay!!

I booked this hostel on the recommendation of a German friend who has lived in the area, and I must say that I was not disappointed at all. Battuta Hostel has a structure that spans across multiple floors with a small outdoor area, a huge terrace with a view of Amman, a reading space, a common area, and a kitchen with everything you need. Its location is super central, and the staff is always available and very kind. I stayed there for two nights and found the beds very comfortable, the rooms, bathrooms, and common areas very clean. I also appreciated the team's efforts to organize interesting activities for travelers and encourage interaction among everyone. If I were to return to Amman, I would definitely choose Battuta Hostel without hesitation.

I stayed in Battuta hostel most of my time in Amman and felt like home. This is a well organized establishment with a charming soul and simplicity. I enjoyed the location as well and walking around the neighborhood, very quiet and calm. Interactions and procedure is swift and welcoming. And of course everyone working there is lovely and felt like kindred spirits. Beds are comfortable, the rooftop view and breakfast is super fine and facilities are cozy and overall the prices are good. Wishing this establishment continuous success. I will be back for sure.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The location is good - near a money exchange, shawarma place and Rainbow Street and historical sites are walkable or a short Uber away. Rooms are clean and there is a common room to hang out in and a kitchen to cook in. Dorms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Communication can be difficult before checking in - there is no website and the only way of contacting seems to be via messenger and you can wait for a while to get a reply. When you check in there is a Whatsapp number you can add. When I checked in, my room had no air con and it was about 30c. I was moved to another room which had air con but there was no remote - this was controlled by staff when it was turned off and on. I have never had this in a hostel or hotel room before and it did not make sense to me - I paid for a private room and it should be up to me when to turn it on if it was hot or cold. This was set at 24c, which was actually hotter than the outside temperature which dropped down to 22c at night. There is a security lock on the door but it does not always close properly. The hostel seems fairly new and there are a few teething problems. I booked a private room as I had to work the next day, and was surprised to find staff come in to check and test the air con even though I said I booked the room (and needed air con) as I would be in there all day working and needed privacy. Thankfully I was able to work at a staff desk outside the room. There are tours but you need to rely on other people going - obviously out of the hostel's control but when I was there no-one wanted to go and it costs a lot of money on your own or the tours don't go. However, every few days a bunch of people randomly do it and it becomes affordable. In the dorms, there are no bars or anything to stop you accidentally falling out of the top bunk in the middle of the night. There were no privacy curtains either but these were being installed as I left. There is free water from a cooler but this often ran out and would be empty for hours.

Best hostel!!! Stayed for one month taking arabic classes in Amman and didnt want to leave… the best vibe i ever felt at a hostel, met so many great people during my stay, everyone open and easy to get along with, going on trips together or exploring amman. The hostel is really chill and perfect to hang out and relax from a hot and busy day in Amman. But especially the hostel owners make you really feel like the hostel is your home. The kindest guys! Go to wanderers when your in Amman!

The hostel was wonderful: excellent location and Ibrahim and the other owners were extremely helpful and hospitable. The best part, by far, was our tour to Petra and Wadi Run with Walid. Walid was like a second father for us (funny, warm, and fed us all day!) and we could not have had a better experience! We will miss Jordan and will be back to visit more places with Walid again!! Highly recommend.

Stayed her last Summer and just came back because love the place so much! The hostel is run by three young Jordanians who can help you with any questions you may have about Amman and Jordan. It has a super nice community like vibe, they organize many events and the location is very central. You should see it for yourself!

This Hostel has the most perfect roof terrace. So that makes for such a sociable vibe. I met 2 lads over breakfast the first morning and we all went into the city to explore together. It’s a great place to lounge and meet people. I booked a private room. It’s really lacking a wardrobe or a clothes hanger as there’s just your bed and a desk. I was really happy with the Dead Sea & Mount Nebo tour that I booked through them. However, I think it’s now changed as there is now only a QR code linked to a tour website. Would definitely recommend, especially if solo. I made friends and had both my days in Amman & Day Tour with friends from the Hostel!

Really amazing place for people coming too Amman. Would highly recommend, staff and volunteers are super helpful and has a great friendly atmosphere. Great location for walking to different sightseeing places. Also a great breakfast here. Would definitely stay again whenever I’m in Amman. Thank you so much.

This place it is a waste of time! It seems nice, but no one is in the reception! We chased them for extent our time here around the building since a day before of our check out, we keep chasing in the morning, chase before to go out and they said “sorry there are no more bed available”. When you are travelling time is gold, we are not to waste time! Pretty poor management! EDIT: they said my review is fake, I think would be more respectful with your customers to say sorry and you will make sure that won’t happen again. Never come back to this place.

Definitely would not call it a hostel. It is such a cozy little place that i would say it felt like a shared airbnb. Very cozy and nice laid back living room and fantastic location. Beds are comfy rooms are huge. Had great company there as well, would be great if i had more times there. Next time though!

I spent an amazing time in this hostel that I highly recommend. Managers are people who loves to travel and who inspired their hostel according it. The place is very hospital and open to all generation. The plus is bed curtains and an open kitchen.

I loved staying at Sinbad hostel. It´s in a safe area, 10 minute walking distance to the Rainbow street. There is a post office, a supermarket and a really good bakery nearby. The hostel has a great vibe, the room was spacious (I stayed in a 2 bunk bed dorm) with lockers and a sofa and the bed had curtains, which was a big plus! Cudos for being plastic free - you can refill your water bottle in the kitchen. The biggest plus though were the guys running it - Abdalah and Minwer (I am sure I spelled it wrong haha). They were super helpful from the first second I entered the hostel and made my stay awesome. I wish I had stayed longer! Highly recommended!

Highly recommendable hostel in Amman! It's a new place, super clean and has decent rooms. The team there is very helpful, super inviting and friendly! You feel a community vibe and can ask the staff for support any time. They gave me recommendations for places to visit and were even available via phone. Dont hesitate-if your looking for a place in Amman- book this place! In addition it is really centrally located right next to rainbow street. You can basically walk there. The hostel is not one of those overcrowded places. So you will actually be able to sleep at night ;-)

Relaxed hostel with a nice common area to meet people. This place is quite small and gives it that really intimate feel. I would stay again and enjoy hostels like this.

Extremely friendly staff. Young team. Even older travelers feel welcomed. The hostel is located on a quiet and safe street. Shops, restaurants, and cafes are nearby. Rainbow Street is also close. Special praise to the friendly driver Walid, who took us to the airport in rainy weather. The hostel also has a kitchen for making morning coffee. Thank you, and I hope to see you again.

A really cozy hostel with a welcoming staff! Has its own kitchen, work place, reading room and an access to the roof top. Rooms are locked with a card, soundproof, clean, spacious! You can buy some tours or transfers if you'd like. Self check in after 0:00 and breakfast for a small add price It's just that hostel is located at an uneasy place though. Huge recommend. From Kazakhstan with love!

My friend and I stayed at Battuta for a few days, we booked a private double room and really enjoyed our stay, the staff was welcoming and helpful, the location was convenient (we had easy access to almost everything just by walking and there is a great currency exchange office close to the hostel) and the room was great. The free parking was a perk too, so I highly recommend this place for budget travellers!

  • 3/5 Canan Üstündağ A. 6 months ago on Google
Volunteers were very kind and helpful. The room has everything you need, very clean. Place is beautifully designed, terrace is awesome at night. The only and biggest problem is too much noise. They played or let the guests play loud music at the corridor with a Bluetooth speaker very early in the morning. The speaker had a “battuta hostel” label on! Someone used vacuum cleaner early morning, checkout time is 11am but they start to clean rooms around 9am. Together with these, noises coming from kitchen and bathroom door again very early morning makes sleeping impossible. I wish they could be more careful about keeping the place silent at sleeping hours.

We had a great stay in this hostel. It's pretty close to the center and rainboy street. The rooms were clean and quite big (private room). The reception is not always occupied, but you can reach them 24/7 by whatsapp / phone. A big shout out to the taxidriver Waleed who picked us up from the airport and drove us to Jerash, Aljoun and Umm Qais. Makes sure he will be your driver if you go on an day-excursion!

I stayed here in May, and had a great experience. All staff were warm, and welcoming. I had a time frame of what I wanted to see and they went above and beyond to assist. I especially liked the idea of the group number to communicate with other travelers who may want to do activities as a group

+ quiet location (apart the mosque speakers somewhere nearby). + large room with nice design. + rolling blinds (tapparella) for sleeping in full darkness. + helpful staff. - There have been several issues, but I liked how the staff managed my requests... I believe that in some time this hostel will be really great, thanks to the improvements already started when I was there. Hopefully price won't increase because it's already on the upper range for similar accomodations (private rooms).

I stayed at this hostel for 4 days. Incredible location, easily walkable to many places nearby like king thalat street. For other locations you may need to tag an uber, but uber is really cheap in amman. The facilities were clean and were cleaned frequently daily. They have a heating system if you come in the winter which was an added benefit. I had the 6 bed female dorm in January often to myself because it was low season so it ended up being a private room. They offer tours all around Jordan including wadi rum, petra etc and you can create your own group to make it slightly cheaper. The more the merrier. They are overall quite expensive tours but you can weigh the cost against your budget and go accordingly. Since it was low season, the social life wasn't so great, but the front desk staff made every effort to still continue to hold events every few nights. I really enjoyed my stay here. The front desk was helpful always and provided recommendations. The beds were comfy and had privacy curtains. They also have no elevator. So get ready to carry your luggage! Definitely would stay here again :) Cons: they have a washer but the dryer is like a electrical "hanging" dry rack in the front of everyone. Hanging your under garments is awkward. Not efficient to dry that way if you're running through amman quickly.

The hostel is great. Perfect to meet new people, the rooms are nice, beds are comfortable. The breakfast on the rooftop is great. I did 2 daytrips offered by the hostel (jerash-ajloun-ummqais 30 JOD, and madaba-nebo-dead sea 50 JOD), and they were really nice!

Great Hostel near everything you want to explore in Ammann. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and equipped with great AC units. Definitely worth the stay. The staff are kind and helpful. They truly want to maximize your travel experience in Jordan. The value of the hostel is not only a good place to stay but a wealth of information about were to go, what to do, where to eat, and how to travel in Jordan. The staffs recommendation were excellent, local, and authentic. The common spaces are very nice, whether you are upstairs on the terrace, in the garden on hammock, using the shared kitchen or any of the other spaces. In addition, the hostel organizing activities with the guests if you are interested in making a few friends. Finally they have very good prices for travel to and from the airport. Whenever I ever return to Amman I will be staying here.

Amazing experience! Lovely place to stay, very helpful staff and warm atmosphere. During the staying I felt at home. Very nice decoration and amazing rooftop! You’ll always find a spot to hangout, chill and socialize. Always clean rooms and showers. Also I like the curtains on the beds because it gives you personal space even though you stay in a dorm. Also kitchen and common area has very chill vibes. Highly recommended!

By far the best hostel for Amman. The staff are welcoming from the get to and are always happy to help with any queries. They offer multiple excursions for local prices. The dorms are well kept and by far the tidiest I’ve seen in terms of hostels. The location is also perfect as there are ample cheap restaurants along with local shops.

The only thing I regret is not staying here right away! I spent a week in amman as female Solo Traveller and wanted to stay in a hostel as I didn’t have time to Plan any Trips and also wanted to meet people to split the tour packages with. At Battuta the staff are incredibly helpful with anything you need . It’s also a perfect place to meet fellow travellers. The staff Can help Book Trips and they have a WhatsApp Group and online Site where you can coordinate Trips with other guests. The Trips that Battuta offer are professional and very flexible , you can Book up to 10 pm the Night before. If you have the time and want to save some money though I would suggest hiring a Car or organising a driver separately. I stayed in a private room which was very spacious and clean. A closet or more wall hangers would be nice. The breakfast is healthy and delicious , I recommend it . The rooftop is very nice and they also have a reading area and co-working Area with a small Library on separate floors. To the Battuta staff: I forgot to Return one of the books sorry 🙈! but I promise I will Gift it to someone else to keep the reading chain going !

Best place to stay in Amman! Hostel Amman is a beautiful place that the owners built from scratch by themselves - most of the furniture is handmade and they keep on working on the hostel to make it a perfect and unique experience for foreigners in Jordan! What amazed me most though is the hospitality of the guys - you will get amazing recommendations and they will take care of you no matter what and when. Thank you for making my start in Amman unforgettable! You guys are the best :) Good luck with everything and see you soon!

A unique place in Jordan at this stage. Not just for the artsy, cozy and clean interior, but also for the people running Sinbad Hostel. You step in and it feels like you are visiting friends. It is a small place with a little garden corner, shared kitchen and inviting sitting room. Bunk-Beds are comfortable, and high enough thanks to high ceilings (great for tall people too). Close to the heart of Amman, but still in a quiet neighbourhood. Hoping it will guard its charme with Ismail, Abdallah, Minwer and the wonderful Fatmah running this place. Mabruuk, and happy travel stories to all those passing by. PS: Die Betreiber sprechen auch Deutsch, ihr werdet überrascht sein :)

I can’t recall any place that is so welcoming and cosy as Sinbad Hostel! It’s a true gem with a unique Jordan vibe, where you can feel the love and soul in every detail. One of those rare places that is truly authentic. We had an amazing stay and would recommend it to anybody visiting Amman! The place itself is in a great location: quiet, but on walking distance to everything. The beds are super comfortable and spacious, there is a common area, outside garden and kitchen. It’s exactly like the pictures show: not cold and fancy, but warm and playful. The biggest plus are the three guys running the hostel. They are extraordinary kind and helpful. The second you walk in you are embraced like family. They create this atmosphere where you don’t feel like you are staying at a hostel or hotel, but at a long lost friend’s house (that by accident has bunk beds and more friends sleeping over ;)). Definitely the best place to stay and experience Amman!

No need to add more pictures for the property, its the same in reality, adding to that the vibes of Jabal Amman (the old nice Amman) can be felt once you enter the house, i recommend it and will be booked in future for sure. Just one thing more, the staff is amazing, three young men own the hostel as new business, amazing welcoming, amazing professionals, all is wonderful.

I stayed in the hostel for a week and it was by far one of the nicest hostel experiences I've ever had. Apart from the beautiful design I had a blast with all the people in the hostel and after finding an apartment in Amman I'm still hanging out with some people I met in the hostel and regularly participate in some of the hostel's events like football games, language exchange, Arabic classes and movie nights. I am also a huge fan of the adorable hostel cats Sobhi und Hosny. Keep up the great work, dear hostel crew!

My experience here being great would be an understatement. From the beginning, the staff makes you feel extremely welcomed and make you the priority. With everything going on with Covid-19, there were still lots of programs offered and made sure everyone can be involved, of course while practicing all the safety guidelines. All of the leisure areas were continuously cleaned and kept in great condition. All in all, one of the best hostels I’ve been to for sure.

One of the cleanest hostels that I’ve ever been, specially with COVID-19 many people are not being safe enough! They have amazing events and programs that help the customers stay active and engaged throughout this pandemic. A lot of the events were involving the community around the hostel and showed me what it really means to be a part of the Jordanian culture. Thank you for an amazing experience and all the love that i was given!

Situated in a quiet neighbourhood of Amman, close to Rainbowstreet and Downtown, this place is a very welcoming home while staying in Amman. You can feel that the owners are well-travelled and only want the best for their guests: clean, silent dorms with good beds and curtains! The service is amazing, they are always there to help you out. And if you're not conviced yet, there are lovely kittens! I will be back for sure!

This is a very cosy place in the heart of Amman. You will meet lovely people from around the world and Jordan. Especially the view from the rooftop is a gem, not to be missed. The guys offer a big amount of activitys which go from cooking Jordanian dinner together, going on a trip, or even doing some body workout! And all that for a very fair price! We had a great time!

Thank you for going above and beyond! I really enjoyed our experience here. The service was phenomenal. The environment was so positive. The location was outstanding. It seems that this hostel attracts many positive travelers. The social aspect with meeting others here is huge and of of course Jordan is off the beaten path so you receive the comfort with joining other people on their adventures. Very Organized and you will feel like you are a host in a home. Many many thanks to all three of the owners who go above and beyond to make this a positive environment.
