What’s
wrong
with
your
foot?
-
I
hurt
it
as
I
walked
in
the
desert.
-
You
should
wear
shoes,
everyone
knows
that.
Does
it
hurt?
-
Not
really.
-
Then
it’s
nothing
serious.
This
is
what
little
Khalifa
told
me,
the
son
of
Oryx
Hostel
owner
Ahmed.
Relying
on
Ahmed’s
services,
I
spent
two
nights
in
the
desert,
one
in
a
bedouin
tent,
the
other
in
a
Martian
bubble.
Unforgettable!
Ahmed,
his
family
and
friends
gave
me
a
full
day
jeep
journey
showing
the
best
treasures
of
Wadi
Rum,
a
camel
ride,
and
two
magical
sunsets.
Their
cooked
lunch,
dinner
and
breakfast
tasted
fabulous.
Spending
the
night
at
his
air-conditioned
tents
in
Wadi
Rum
village
is
a
good
alternative
for
the
budget-minded
traveler.
Ahmed
has
much
more
than
accomodation
-
he’s
your
trusted
guide
through
the
desert.
