Came on our first trip to Petra with my wife and 3 year old son. We were unsure who to book a tour through and a few of the local residents recommended Go Jordan. We took their advice and wow were we happy we did. Professional and friendly throughout the tour, made us feel very comfortable. They have great knowledge of the area, described everything in detail and we're more than happy to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend!

PETRA ... More Than A Wonder The city of Petra, capital of the Nabataean Arabs, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, it is Located 240 km south of the capital Amman and 120 km north of the red sea town of Aqaba (see the Map), Petra the world wonder is undoubtedly Jordan's most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction, and it is visited by tourists from all over the world. It is not known precisely when Petra was built, but the city began to prosper as the capital of the Nabataean Empire from the 1st century BC, which grew rich through trade in frankincense, myrrh, and spices. Petra was later annexed to the Roman Empire and continued to thrive until a large earthquake in 363 AD destroyed much of the city in the 4th century AD. The earthquake combined with changes in trade routes, eventually led to the downfall of the city which was ultimately abandoned. By the middle of the 7th century Petra appears to have been largely deserted and it was then lost to all except local Bedouin from the area. In 1812 a Swiss explorer named Johannes Burckhardt set out to ‘rediscover’ Petra; he dressed up as an Arab and convinced his Bedouin guide to take him to the lost city, After this, Petra became increasingly known in the West as a fascinating and beautiful ancient city, and it began attracting visitors and  continues to do so today. Petra is also known as the rose-red city, a name it gets from the wonderful colour of the rock from which many of the city’s structures were carved. The Nabataeans buried their dead in intricate tombs that were cut out of the mountain sides and the city also had temples, a theater, and following the Roman annexation and later the Byzantine influence, a colonnaded street and churches. In addition to the magnificent remains of the Nabataean city, human settlement and land use for over 10,000 years can be traced in Petra, where great natural, cultural, archaeological and geological features merge. On December 6, 1985, Petra was designated a World Heritage Site,, also Petra was chosen by the Smithsonian Magazine as one of the 28 pl

We had an amazing experience with Go Jordan on our 6-day trip. We regularly go on tours but rarely do we feel like part of family. Right from the start, Wessam did an amazing job organising our itinerary and dealt with our changing needs, always responsive, prompt and helpful. We chat so much that we feel like she is a sister. Their price is very competitive, yet they didnt pester for payment, it was so easy to deal with. We arrived Amman in the ungodly hours of the morning, cold and very foggy. We were met by Mohammed who helped us through immigration, then proceeded to meet Hassan, who is a real star. Hassan is our driver / guide for the rest of the trip, and became a great companion. He is more than what you could ask from a driver, plans well ahead but able to re-optimize on the fly, drives fast yet not reckless, and ensure we hit our targets and more. Though not officially a guide, he is very knowledgeable, speaks English very well, kept us engaged throughout and connect us with the ways of the locals. We left feeling like we just met a family. We got more than expected so would not hesitate to recommend Go Jordan to our friends and family.

I recently organised an International visit abroad for a group of 24 Explorer Scouts (teenagers) to visit the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The group embarked on a whistle stop tour of Jordan; 6 nights and 7 days to see as much as we could of Jordan; a mix of history with fun. We had the privilege of camping in Wadi Rum, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. The vast and surreal desert landscape, with its towering sandstone cliffs and endless sand dunes, left us in awe. In addition to the touristy sights, we booked a group cooking activity with Petra Kitchen in Petra as recommended by Go Jordan representatives. From start to finish, the experience was engaging with a whole lot of laughter and fun! What truly set this trip apart was the impeccable organisation by the Go Jordan operators. From the moment we booked our tour to the end of our adventure, everything was well-executed. The itinerary flowed smoothly, and the logistics were seamless. Brother Ahmad (tour guide), sister Wessam (coordinator) and Pappa Mahdi (owner of ago Jordan) were all amazing, to say the least. Each were very supportive, incredibly friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. No question went unanswered. The care and customer service received before, during and even post travel is rated 10*! Sister Wessam and Pappa Mahdi have even reached out to ensure we have arrived home safely; post-trip care which is rare to find. It is clear that the representatives of Go Jordan have gone above and beyond to create a memorable experience for their guests. I highly recommend anyone visiting Jordan, or anywhere they have some knowledge and experience to firstly book with Go Jordan and secondly, if you’re visiting Jordan definitely include Petra Kitchen (group cooking activity) and Wadi Rum in your itinerary…the traditional tents and not the plastic domes! Our journey into the heart of nature and culture of Jordan was executed with precision and guided by the warmest hospitality, that will stay with us forever. Thank you Go Jordan for making my job as a Scout Leader easy!

Fantastic Tour of Jordan across (unfortunately, we did it only in 4 days due to other constraints but got wonderful memories for lifetime). Very beautiful Country and have so many different kinds of attractions from nature to Man made. 4 days are definitely less, I recommend more days otherwise bit tiring due to back to back travels, nice if it would have been a week or more. Still we ensured that we stayed for sufficient time at each attractions to experience them thoroughly. We were two families with children (total 7 people). Here at GoJordan, we had a very responding and caring team (the ladies Ms. Haneen and Ms. Samah) who are there for us throughout in organizing to its execution. We thank them so much for being patient and answering all the queries. We choose the 3* accommodation option, GojordanTours were the most economic but also provided the best experience. Also, they have arranged a wonderful Driver Mr. Sameer who was with us and was very kind & friendly. We had a really great time through out . And can't describe our experience in words in Petra (great memories ), Wadi Rum desert, Jerash and Dead sea (was real fun floating in the water). Amman was beautiful too. Stayed overnight in Shaqilath hotel in Petra (Food was very good, small but every thing new and good), Grand East (4* in Dead sea, Food was top class and facilities too ) and Rahayeb Desert camp in Wadi Rum (Location and rooms). We highly recommend Gojordan!

👍👍 The ancient city of Petra, Jordan, is located in a remote valley, nestled among sandstone mountains and cliffs. It was purported to be one of the places where Moses struck a rock and water gushed forth. Later the Nabataeans, an Arab tribe, made it their capital, and during this time it flourished, b...
