Arar Cultural House in Irbid.. On a hill overlooking a historic street in the city of Irbid, northern Jordan, stands the “Beit Arar” Museum, which documents the career and life of the poet Mustafa Wahbi al-Tall, known as the “Poet of Jordan,” surrounded by tall trees, and embracing in its courtyard an ancient mulberry tree that indicates prestige and nobility. The prestige of the poet and the nobility of the place he once lived. This house, whose space is adjacent to the minaret of the mosque and the cross of the church, forms, along with the neighboring houses and those extending on both sides of the old street, a historical and cultural memory of the city. Arar’s father, Saleh Mustafa Al-Tall, built the house in 1888, in the Damascene style. At that time, it consisted of only two rooms, and a large courtyard paved with black volcanic stone and pink-patterned “Qartian” stone. Then, in 1904, some annexes were added to the house, and it became It consists of four rooms and a spacious sitting area opening onto the front yard. The house is distinguished by its traditional Damascene flavor, with heavy wooden doors fastened with nails in simple, elegant geometric shapes, and the corridors that separate the rooms and lead to the outdoor courtyard, which gives the place familiarity with the presence of jasmine, basil, and lemon bushes. The house represents a feat of Arab architecture and the aesthetics of ancient houses that are closed from the outside and open to the interior. The doors and windows also take the shape of arches and are designed to be of a large size in order to allow air and sunlight to enter the rooms throughout the day.

"Arar House" is located on the southern slope of Irbid Hill. It is a building and museum to commemorate the death of the great Jordanian poet Mustafa Wahbi Al-Tal. The house was completed in 1905 by the father of the poet Saleh Mustafa Al-Tall. The house is built according to the Levantine style system of black basalt stone and red embellished “Qartian” stone. It consists of a heavenly courtyard surrounded by trees, five rooms, two colors, and the tomb of the Jordanian poet Mustafa Wahbi Al-Tall. The house was inhabited by the people of Arar for a period of time, then many people inhabited it as a result of their frequent travel between Jordan and the Levant to pursue their studies. After the people of Arar, it was inhabited by the British advisor Samar Smith at the time of the British mandate in Palestine. Then the house was transformed into a school in 1918 for three years, then Cotton A doctor named Sinan, an Englishman of Indian origin, lived there for five years and turned the house into a hospital. Its ownership was transferred to the poet Arar’s sisters (Afaf, Shahira, Yusra, Munifa and Souad), who donated the house and made it an endowment to perpetuate the memory of the poet Arar and to honor his political, social and cultural role since the founding of the Jordanian state on 7/18/1988, when the poet’s remains were transferred from the North Cemetery. Irbid to the poet's house, after its restoration by the Ministry of Culture based on the poet's wish.

On the southern slope of Tell Irbid, lawyer Saleh Mustafa al-Tal, the father of Arar, built his house in 1888. It consisted of two rooms and an external courtyard, similar in its general design to the style of architecture prevalent in old Damascene houses, which was distinguished by its openness to the interior through an open courtyard decorated with plants. In the year 1905, the house was expanded by adding some annexes, to complete the house in its current form, consisting of five rooms and a large square that could accommodate 300 people. It was paved with black stones and "Qurtian" stone covered in pink.

The house is beautiful and they have maintained the cleanliness and beauty of the place. It contains a room with simple pictures and paintings that tell about the history of the poet and the house. It is considered one of the wonderful stops when taking a tour to the Dar Al-Saraya Museum, the Peace Staircase, and the House of Mustafa Al-Tall. Free admission.
