Very peaceful and historical. Wetland near the Satra is important wintering ground for many migratory birds. Infrastructure development is going on and hopefully it will attract more tourists.

The satra was established by Vamshigopal in 1584. This Satra is considered to be a home for dances which were contribution of Sankardeva. Best time to visit the satra is during winter when the weather is very pleasant or during Rasleela festival which is organized in a grand manner.

An experience like never before. One would find the pure Village vibe, traditional Missing house(all made up of bamboo). The hospitality of the stuff is very pleasing.I would like to recommend everyone to stay and experience there..

Dakhinpat xatra in the Majuli Island of river Brahmaputra of Assam is a well-known xatra established by Sri Banamali dev in 1584. He was honoured and treated with much respect by the Ahom monarch Jayadharaj Singh. An ornete gateway engraved with religious motifs, animals and flowers forms the entrance while inside similar sculptures and paintings with devine overtones adorn the walls of the Namghar and heighten the aesthetic appeal of the secred precincts.

It's the second largest Satra of Assam. The main attraction of this Satra is it's culture and it is also initiating the preservation of animals like deer and rabbit inside it. There are many posts of big basil plant which are almost extinct now a days. It has a museum in which the most precious things made of gold and silver of the Ahom kings are preserved in a good condition.

The most popular satra in majuli, where u can have lunch(boha) with the bhakats, in their tradition, overall lovely atmosphere and a mind blowing environment contrast to the present day life ,as people there still following the tradition from 500-600 years without being affected by the modernization of the society

(Translated by Google) I am very, very dear. I always have this good time to melt the ladder. There are many resources for dealing with issues related to fatherhood. Kibib Noaim is published in the language. There are many possessions of gold and silver. It was not as if the book seemed to be a book. For 300 years, we are tired of burning. Manu is a wonderful combination of animals. It is like another Vrindavan. So historical and beautiful place. The campus is very well maintained and hygenic. Only downside is the road is veru dusty, 2 wheelers will face a lot of problem. Go by car.

A place where time has stood still, pace of life slowed down and life really lived. Lots of space and green, that describes majauli. Dakhinpat satra stands out for the warmth exuded by a monk who we met here. He took us home, explains the place, it's history, life here and fed us, all this without expectation of anything in return. The place is very clean, lots of fresh air, history, culture with it.

The place is very beautiful and peace you can heard birds chirping from all the ways, with some dears and rabbit.....but if you enter monikut(place where God idol are placed)u need to were dhoti compulsorily or you will not be allowed to enter

This is one of very old satra here and located far away from majuli ferry point. Here the pillars are made up of wood. They are really strong enough. Here inside satra u have to wear traditional dress (men-dhoti, shirt. Women-saree) to get inside. Otherwise u can have a darshan from just outside. The roadway towards this satra is good. Hence u don't need to worry about the distance.. Take a rental scooty or taxi to move around majuli..

Located along the northern bank of the river Brahmaputra, Dakhinpat Satra was established by Sri Banamalidev under the rule of the Ahom King Jayadhwaj Singha. The Satra’s gateway is engraved with designs of flowers and animals while the inner walls are adorned with exquisite sculptures and paintings. Renowned for its significant contribution towards art and culture, this Satra celebrates Raas Leela festival with fervor and festivity. #AwesomeAssam #Assam #AssamTourism #DakhinpatSatra #Satras #Majuli #ExploreAssam #WelcomeToAssam #TravelAssam

The place is calm and peaceful like the other Satras as well. One thing though, that you might not see in the other Satras is that here, they have a few deers placed inside a small building just adjacent to the main architecture in the premise.
