Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) is the premier institution for higher education in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The University was converted into a Central University with effect from 9th April 2007 as per notification of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Guwahati Airport 380 km apart Flights are available to Guwahati, Dibrugarh from major cities of India. Nearby Railway Station 1. Harmuti (13 Km apart) 2. Naharlagun (12km apart) A person can avail Day super, Night super Buses and Reserve taxi/Share Taxi from Guwahati Airport to Itanagar. Trains are available from Guwahati (@ 9:20 PM) to Naharlagun every day. Even trains are available from Guwahati to Harmuty railway station in Assam. From Dibrugarh airport to reach Rajiv Gandhi University a person can avail Taxi, share taxi, bus etc. From Lilabari airport, which is in North Lakhimpur, Assam, (only Air India flight from Kolkata to Lilabari) a person can reach Rajiv Gandhi University by the reserve taxi/ auto etc. Nirjuli town ship is 5 kilometres from RGU. The University is situated in Doimukh Township with all basic facilities. A person can contact following Hotels for accommodation. It has very good environment with lots of trees and as it is in the very top of the hills ,pleasant cool breeze cools the very heart. Very good for evening walk. Road connectivity is also excellent. Infrastructure is also top class with separate hostel for both girls and boys. There is also official world class size football playground,volleyball, basketball, auditorium for indoor games and many other various activities. Overall the very nature of the University is very pleasant.

I visited this University way back in 2017. Can't comment much on the infrastructure and the facilities it render. But I simply love the location and view of this University. I also love seeing Bisons strolling around freely in the campus which is an unusual sight to see since Bison are only found in the wild from where I am.

RG University zero pollution zone, awesome place rich fungal and plant and many other species diversity. Peoples are cool minded, helfull, live together as family. If anybody who could tolerate the temperature rest is like heaven.

RGU is awe inspiring, university is located at the top of hills , aesthetic environment with full of greenery and pleasant environment ...Canteen over here provide good quality food ...So don't miss this

The event for which we were invited to this institution was to attend a Film screening and discussion of MA.AMA by Dominic M. Sangma. It was a great opportunity for us to go there. Actually, we were invited on behalf of our institution by Arunachal Film Collective. Me and my friend came straight from a trip of ours by taking lifts and hitchhiking from random strangers on the road and attended the event on time. While the others from our group came from Itanagar along with our faculties. The premises of the whole place was nice and well cleaned. The campus was right on top of a hill and the view from there is really amazing. Even though the event had been nicely organised, the filmmaker whose film was being shown told us about his experience making this film. It was nice to hear all of this. Therefore, I'm glad I attended this event right at this institution.
