I stayed at Vivo to check out the Rinconada area of Puerto for a few days. I really enjoyed staying here it's a very safe area, gated property, cool pool bar, and the staff were excellent. I have no complaints other than the A/C was slow to cool the room until late only one night (I was slightly hungover that day tho!) , but otherwise, a positive stay and would definitely return. Lots of restaurants are a block away, all that Rinconada has to offer. Playa Carrizalillo is the main attraction for this area. It's a beautiful beach, although the stairs are a workout! Wyatt is doing a great job running the place, and definitely try the peanut butter mezcal... you'll be glad you did! Yum

Lovely clean hostel with super helpful, friendly staff. The facilities are excellent and there's a nice social vibe and a cheap happy hour with good cocktails, without over the top partying. The breakfast was good too. I would definitely stay again. Location perfect for the beach. Gracias!

the perfect place to bake a chocolate cake and have a movie night with everyone. i love this place. they staff/volunteers make this place feel like a second home. so welcoming from the second you step in to the moment you leave. the facilities are always SO clean, the kitchen is massive and they free breakfast changes every morning so it’s always something new. the pool is huge and it’s the perfect mix of party and chill hostel vibes. i genuinely love this place so much i extended my stay twice. if you ever go to puerto make sure to come here it’ll be the highlight of your trip

The staff were so kind when we arrived wet from the rain they gave us a towel. Everyone made us feel welcome and the hostel is really cool, with so many murals and a palapa with a bar next to the pool. Its also super close to the beach! I Would recommend.

A big villa turned into a hostel. There are a lot of nice beaches on a walkable distance. They have plenty of spaces to chill, hammocks on the roof, netflix, daily happy hours in their bar, one of the best hostal kitchens and of course, the pool. The owner is a great guy who gave us nice recommendations. Met some nice people there. Recommend!

Vivo Escondido is such a nice place to stay. Everything is just perfect, I really enjoyed staying here. Especially the sunsets from the rooftop are just stunning. Would definitely come again!

One of the better hostels in Puerto Escondido. Close to the best beach, has daily activities and there are awesome volunteers. Mariam was espically great, she showed me around the hostel when i arrived and I told her i wanted to try surfing... she helped me set up a lesson (my first) and got me a discounted price as well. I was also traveling solo and made friends easily. 10/10 would stay again.

Nice pool and hammocks. Room and bathroom were not clean though and there were multiple cats and a dog. Cats were laying on peoples beds during the day. There was a cat with an abscess roaming around the hostel. They claimed it wasn’t their cat but it was there constantly and not cared for. Dog was barking inside. Anyone could enter the hostel at anytime and open the rooms, the door was only locked after 11pm. We were here for two days and one day the internet was not working. Two times there was no water when we wanted to shower. The location makes up for these inconveniences though.

Absolutely great hostel , clean, friendly and safe ! I was impressed on how professionally the hostel owner Tommy handled a peculiar situation with one of the guest who performed unacceptable activities in front of the others. Great respect and care for the visitors. Everything here is built for the safety and satisfaction of the people of all ages, great customer service, helpful team. Comfortable beds, reasonable rules for afterhours, a terrace, a pool, many places to relax in these facilities, close to the beach. Highly recommend!

Wicked hostel! Cheap bar, very chilled vibes, we met some great people. The staff are really friendly and always available. The breakfast is alright to get you going for the day.

Staff is super friendly and cool. Different events every night with free pancake breakfast. Also has happy hour for cheap drinks.

I booked for vivo Escondido for two nights not knowing how good it was going to be. And than spent the next 4 days catching a taxi back to vivo to hang out with the friendly staff and swim and drink. Vibe check 10/10

The best place to stay in Puerto Escondido. It's located 5 mins from the best beach, shops and restaurants in Rinconada. The villa is so beautiful, full of amazing paintings, has everything you may need (swimming pool, pool table, cheap bar, enormous sofa and netflix, equipped and big kitchen, space to wash and dry your clothes, rooftop with hammocks) and there is AC in the dorms! Last but not least the staff is simply amazing, the pets are lovely and the vibes are super, you can make friends easily and party but still at 11pm quiet time is guaranteed. Tommy remembered my vodka intolerance, Emily was so sweet checking me in, and Sophie is the best DJ in Mexico. My favorite hostel I’ve ever stayed at!

Vivo Escondido is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The kitchen is large and has everything you need, the bar has cheap drinks and the people are incredible. The owners and volunteers make this place feel like home away from home.Sophie and Emily did an incredible job making sure I felt comfortable and always created a fun atmosphere for everyone! If you’re staying in Puerto Escondido, Vivo is the only place to stay!!

Amazing hostel. Perfect location near the beach and short taxi to zicatela/la punta. Great staff and vibes. Delicious pancakes for breakfast everyday. 10/10 would recommend.

This is an amazing hostel. Very welcoming to other people who aren't staying there at that moment, for instance during beer pong or game nights. The staff is amazing as well, you'll befriend them in no time. Shoutout to the owner Tommy who is always trying to improve everybody's experience and constantly updating the layout of the hostel.

I think a few years ago this place would have been a great hostel, hence the great reviews (including on hostelworld) but it's definitely lost it's charm. Stayed one night and left because some basic principles were missing: 2/3 showers don't have locks and didn't even drain property, towel i was given was falling apart, you pay for air-conditioning in rooms but they limit usage to night time.

This is the best hostel in Puerto Escondido! The only things I would change are the locks on the bathroom doors and also the door from the large dorm to the lockers in the hallway, it's a pain to open and close.

Vivo escondido is a really nice hostel. The villa has a really nice atmosphere and the pool is amazing. The stuff makes sure that the pool is always in best conditions. The room has air conditioning and is clean. The best part of defenataly the delicious homemade breakfast. A big thanks to the crew and specially to Artur and Anselm for the delicious drinks and food. 100% recommend!
