One of the best activities you can do in Mexico. This group of people is doing a great job. Their knowledge is good, they take their time and will leave the place better then it was. Price/quality is top: super value!

This was an awesome experience. The guides are really nice and local so very knowledgeable about what's going on in nature and these communities. Definitely worth the trip. It costs 100$, and then it's donation based.

This place was amazing, by far one of the most beautiful tours we have done in Mexico! La Cooperativa takes so much care of the environment, both flora and fauna, and they are very knowledgeable. We saw like 15 different crocodiles from 50 cm to 4.5 meters, several species of birds (all beautiful!), river turtles and iguanas. Don't miss this little adventure!

My family really loved the tour of the manglares and our guide, Delfino, was very knowledgeable. The cooperative community here is working hard to restore and preserve this beautiful piece of nature.

This eco-tour of the mangrove marsh is not to be missed, especially if you plan to visit or you find yourself in Oaxaca, Mexico. While you can book a tour out of Huatulco, we found our way by car from Zipolite to the Ventanilla Lagarto Real Sociedad Coopperativa - just north of Mazunte. Commonly referred to, by gringos from the north, as the Crocodile Tour, the tour we chose was offered by the “Largareto Real”, not because it happened to be less expensive (about the cost of a good Margarita ), but because it offered a guided tour of the area from a preservation-first-and-foremost philosophy. There are no penned or caged animals on this select tour. This local organization is also nursing and planting tens of thousands of mangrove seedlings each year in the areas reserve, with the long-term goal of restoring this amazing eco-culture to it’s pre 1997 hurricane, vitality. The incredible bio-diversity of the area, is highlighted over the one and a half hour boat tour of one the country’s most fascinating ecological environs. Hectares of mangrove forest are home to countless species of both flora and fauna. From the exotic and colourful flowers - one of which changes colour three times over the course of the day, to the dozens of species of exotic birds as well as iguana, huge turtles and of course crocodiles. Our guide, Luis, was impressively knowledgeable and was able to answer everyone of our groups endless questions - in English. He, and this tour are highly recommended. Look to the guys in the red shirts, for a guided tour that scores full stars for value and for an experience not to be missed.

All the tour's have a excellent price and show you the best places and all the animals. In every trip we get to see amazing landscapes and local animals. The best tour to take is the official one that starts in the black sand beach.

This community takes care of Laguna Ventanilla and they protect wildlife refuge with crocodiles, leguanes, birds and more. They offer guided boat tours - very interesting and enjoyable. 500 meters walk on the beach leads you to the lagoon with the mangroves.

This community takes care of the mangroves in the laguna de Ventanilla and as well they clean the beach around. Further, they offer tours with a rowing boat to experience the wildlife including birds, crocodiles, leguanes and others. Highly recommend!

This preserved river full of nature, exotic native animals, plants and an aggressive replanting to save the manglares is worth the trip, $100 mnx entry free and the tip to the guide offering cultural explanations.

Very helpful guides who take care of this stunning laguna for a little donation. It is definitly a place that has to become a nature reserve - so apart of supporting this important cause - you'll get to see some the most raw, incredible and unique nature in all of Oaxaca. Normally the tours go every 1h and for about 1h. You can't go alone as there are crocodiles in the laguna, so with the guides it is safe, and you also get to hear the explanation. Well worth the visit!
