A friend visited this weekend and wanted to tour a good distillery. Wilderness Trail came to mind immediately. The distillery is large enough to have all aspects of the process but small enough for visitors to see the process. Our tour guide, Melissa, was excellent answering all of our questions and giving us an understanding of the sweet mash process used here. At the end of the tour we had a nice sampling of the products with Melissa's guided tasting. The yellow label bourbon is a solid addition to a bourbon lovers bar.

A great spot on the Bourbon Trail with a knowledgeable tour guide (ask for Teresa) and a fun tour and tasting. Our group of 10 had a great time here on a Saturday morning in April 2023. We were running a little late for our 9am tour but they were very accommodating. Danville is a little out of the way, but the rolling hills and scenic views on the drive definitely kept us interested on the drive. The tour was a lot of fun and the tasting was just right. Highly recommend a stop here - make a day of it and drive over to Maker's Mark afterwards.

Awesome tour and tasting experience. They make some of the best bourbon in my opinion. If you get a chance to meet and take the tour with Cooper, the cat, do. He adds to the experience.

Great atmosphere and knowledgeable hosts. Fun distillery to visit in a wonderful town. Made an entire day of coming to this distillery by going into town and experiencing the restaurants. Our guide was great. Not as commercialized as some of the other big names. I will be returning

We toured Wilderness Trail last week and had a great time! Lots of cool history and information I didn't know about making bourbon. We got to try the "moonshine" distillate, four different samples of bourbons ranging from wheated to rye, and learned a lot about the cooking and distilling process, Rickhouses, and history of bourbon in the area. Our tour guide was lovely and had a few fun jokes and tips that made it more fun! Also I am now in love with Cooper the distillery cat 😍

Wilderness trail was an awesome experience. My wife and I went there on our anniversary trip and had a great time. The tour was informative, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The bourbon was great. Definitely don’t miss this on your bourbon trail trip.

My fiancé and I drove 3 hours to visit this distillery. I would say the pictures in the Bourbon Guide/ passport does not do this place justice. It has a beautiful campus. We got there at 11:45 kicking ourselves for not accounting for a one hour time difference. Emily was nice enough to suggest a local restaurant 4 miles away called Copper Oak while we waited for the 1pm tour. ( The food, drinks and service was amazing at Copper Oak by the way) The Tour was great! Theresa was an awesome guide and answered all of our questions! We loved Cooper the cat 😂 who we saw walking around with a group. Be sure to try the black walnut bitters!

We were there for the first release of their Bourbon, so we thought it would be great to go for a Family Tree barrel pick. The place has grown exponentially, however Patrick, Shane and the team at Wilderness Trail have remained true to their passion. We had an awesome experience with Emily and Riley during our pick!! It was truly a very difficult decision. You cannot go wrong with visit and a tour, we had Frank give us a tour, he was great!!

Had a great tour yesterday with Melissa as our guide. She did a great job taking us around, encouraging questions, and giving us some great info on Kentucky bourbon history too which I had not learned through other tours. Great place. Great bourbon. Beautiful area too!

One of the better tours. A lot of distilleries spend a lot of time on history. This a new distillery so they walked through the process and equipment. Very open to the process and getting close to the equipment to see it in progress. Tour guide was knowledgeable and great humor too. Would do this again.
