This is a park that has 2 sections. The main attraction is a series of Native American mounds. To do it right, you need to take a good look at the map. The mounds are obviously quite old, and 20 years ago and earlier, were not maintained and just left to evolve naturally. The site has been undergoing restoration efforts, and a 30 minute walk, map in hand, will get you a good idea and sense of appreciation. The second section is a walk through the woods that veers off to a lake. One really feels peaceful, and as if you're miles and miles from civilization.

Left for a morning walk, and had the entire space to myself to explore ❤ If you're a nature baby, you will appreciate this place and all its beautiful there is to see. It has sitting benches along the walks so you can just sit and listen to the birds, wildlife, and get lost in a sunrise or sunset over the waterfront. I just sat and watched the autumn leaves fall. It was serene, peaceful, soulful. Nature Therapy indeed.

What a lovely area! There was a fair amount of education, which I found very informative. My family really enjoyed trying to pick out the different geometric shapes! Definitely a great example of how historically we didn't make super respectful choices, but have taken get strides to do better! The picnic area is fairly large. The trail around the springs was very buggy so definitely pack bug spray!

I love this place. It's so quiet and peaceful. There's a lot to see whatever season it is.

As many years as I've been in Dodge County I've never come across this place. Turns out it's only 15 minutes from my house. It's kind of a moving place. Peaceful and really serene and pretty. The path as you get close to the pond was pretty slippery and muddy, so watch your step. I only walked a portion of the area. It is a beautiful time of year, as the colors are changing, to be anywhere in Wisconsin. Always nice to check out something new. Just off Highway 33. I can't wait to come back

Really enjoyed the trails! They are very well kept up. Especially enjoyed that the trails are mostly in the shade. The pavilion is very nice!

First time I was there. Thought it was nice hiking. But because it had rained I didn't get very far. I'll be back soon.

Signs brag about excavating and dismantling 3000-year-old sacred burial mounds. If you still visit, there is a portapotty but no shade in the parking lot.

Incredible historic place! The park is looking AH-MAZING with all the volunteer hours put in by Effigy Mounds Initiative group & others. Excellent protection & preservation measures taken to keep the many ancient mounds here, safe for thousands more years.
