A unique garden built on hill that is not common in Singapore, the variety of floral and butterflies are amazing. For butterfly lovers visit during morning 8am to 10am is the best.

had a trip to the gardens today with a few friends and I must say, I was left in awe. Ganesh, took the trouble to explain each and every flower to us including its features, and characteristics which blew my mind. At the end of the tour in the 9 storey garden, not only my mind was swimming knowledge in the arena of flora, the therapeutic effect left me superbly charged and calm for the rest of the day. As you'd have imagined, I grabbed a copy of the hand painted calendar as memory as well as a token to support Ganesh in maintaining the beauty of Mother Nature. To all nature lovers out there, this place is a MUST VISIT. If beauty can be described in words, I would try but as they say the most beautiful things in the world can only be felt in the heart. You have to see it to believe it! Just so you know, this is the only botanical garden or should I say the only place in the north of Singapore where Mother Nature flaunts her beauty, grace and abundance. Canopy trees give visitors all the shade they need, not to mention fresh air as they scour the landscape under the clear skies and lazy wind embracing each visitor in her arms. Simply, blissfully divine!

It's hard to find words to describe such a wonderful place that's been cultivated from the ground up (literally) by a team of dedicated volunteers of all ages and demographics. This place has so many different species of flowers from local to foreign, as well as numerous pollinators like endangered butterflies and bees. They also have other special features like fountains and well-lined walking paths. Though some might find it 'messy', it's actually very well organized and done with great respect for nature. There are different sections for people with different preferences - some more manicured and others more natural, to cater to the interests of many in the community. We went on a Saturday morning to find a big group of volunteers, many Republic Polytechnic students especially, helping to weed on a weekend morning, and got to talk to Ganesh whose efforts helped to 'seed' the entire project. A labor of love indeed :) Additionally, they have volunteer opportunities, free community events, and are committed to sharing their knowledge and continuing to increase the habitat for local flora and fauna through what they're doing. Check out their Instagram @woodlandsbotanicalgarden for updates!

I enjoyed seeing the beautifully grown plants and trees, some not commonly found elsewhere. Saw lovely flowers in bloom with birds nesting on tree in full view and many butterflies fluttering around. An oasis for both nature and nature lovers.

This is a hidden jem in Singapore. From the carpark you are not able to see the park as it is a few blocks away. This park is relatively big by Singapore standard and it is maintained by volunteers around the estate. If you like butterflies go in the morning between 9.30am to 11am. A good exercise walk uphill and around the park.
