🫤 I moved to the area recently but I have been coming here for a while now. I’ll say this right now this Marianos was no doubt one of the best Iv ever visited. Every time I came here the environment is always good and peaceful to shop in. The food was on point and the items selection. But a few weeks... People often mention store, good, price, service, time, items, section, selection, Mariano', Kroger,

I moved to the area recently but I have been coming here for a while now. I’ll say this right now this Marianos was no doubt one of the best Iv ever visited. Every time I came here the environment is always good and peaceful to shop in. The food was on point and the items selection. But a few weeks ago I came to shop and noticed fruit flys inside all the cakes and donuts. They were just flying around like nothing while the employees baked. I come again today and of course they have the same fruit fly probably but not only that food with mold.

Refrigerators all around the store not clean. Poor sanitation practices spoiled milk, eggs and packaged meats . Mold in Refrigerators and worst thing no one seems to care about it nor the employees or managers

I've been going to the Mariano's in Oak Lawn since they opened. Recently, I've noticed that the cold products are not being put away in a timely manner. Two weeks ago, I watched a worker stand there and play on his phone on top of the boxes for the dairy section, instead of opening them up and putting the stuff away. Sometimes, the boxes of dairy items are just sitting out there with no one around. Yesterday, I was in the frozen food section and noticed this lone box of Pierogi sitting on the floor. They didn't even go in this area of the frozen food section, and there wasn't anyone around putting stuff away. I guess the only way this will stop is when someone gets sick. You shouldn't let items like this sit out and start defrosting. Also, on May 27, 2022 I saw these Slim Jim's on a rack and the expiration date was March 25, 2022. Why are these not in the garbage? A third photo I found on my phone. A salad that someone left on a shelf. While this was a customer who put it there, I'm willing to bet that it went right back to the refrigerated shelf it came from when it was back down to room temperature. Check ALL expiration dates on stuff that's on sale. Also, don't pick any cold stuff that's up front, pick something from the back. You never know if it's been sitting out for a while and someone just put it back instead of throwing it out. You can also see my Yelp review for more.

This Mariano's is a disappointment. Their produce selection is so small and most of the bins are sparce or riddled with rotting produce. I am tired of over paying for your gross selection. I won't be coming back.

(2nd Edit)- Ladies and gentlemen I am astounded to announce a price has been set. It only took a few months but they finally got the job done. It must have been a massive undertaking to print out one price tag and re-merchandise a 6 bottle case but it is done. But ooooo wait. The price tag is for another bottle from the distillery in question with a different price, upc and sku number. While I commend the effort Kroger has dropped the ball entirely. Based upon proximity if you have to shop here I suppose but marianos as a high end grocery chain is long gone.(Edit)- Almost 3 weeks have passed and we still can’t get a price tag on it huh? When the general manager took the bottle from me at the register he directly said it was because customers put things down in the wrong place. You’re a general manager and can’t even print a price tag? It’s been 3 weeks!! I understand you are busy but come on for real? Are you trying to sell the product or is it just eye candy? Like baffling how after you are called out you can’t even correct yourself by printing a simple price tag. Kroger you should sell me this bottle for what you advertising and better train your employees. If a manager was deliberately impeding the sale of a $500 plus case of product he would not be managing my store any longer. Let’s see how long it takes to get that price tag up. I bet nothing happens before 4th of July at the absolute minimum. 40 hour work week and printing 1 price tag just too much to handle. If you advertise something please honor it. Not the customer’s fault the department is negligent or mismanaged. I’m an informed consumer and I know a good deal, not my fault the staff doesn’t have the same knowledge I do. The Kentucky owl st. Patrick’s edition is an allocated bourbon, but when you leave 4 of the bottles in a stack labeled 24.99 it is presumed to be 24.99 when no other channel markers or displays can be found. I understand the label is not for the product but if that is the way employees are trained then the price should remain what is listed. Tell southern or breakthru (which are the liquor distributors) to give Kroger a credit for it. (They will do it) and here’s another tip: Supervise outside merchandisers! They were likely the ones who broke down the st.pats display and did not opt to ask for a proper tag. Maybe hire an informed spirits consultant to prevent instances like this.

It used to be a wonderful experience. They closed the grill. The hot food bar is rarely fully open. The bar is rarely open. The employees show little consideration for customers.... all of the special things that used to make it "Marianos" are gone. Now it's just a grocery store

Like most businesses staffing shortages are a problem. Check out is usually 8 deep, pack your patience remember it is not the employee at fault. Even on a Monday @ 11am a back up. They try to do their best. It is at the corporate level, and store management.

The first time I ever been to a Mariano's was about a month back and it was this location! I was overwhelmed with excitement because they had so much stuff ! They have fudge stand , popcorn stand, a Stan's donuts, a mini bar , ready to eat food and more ! I bought some chicken tenders that were ready to eat. they tasted like the ones from jewels. Very good. I also bought ready to eat pizza and even though it looked good it wasn't so tasteful. I usually buy groceries at jewels but that day I decided to go to Mariano's. I was surprised on how much I spent because I honestly thought I would of spent more. Place looks well kept and they have a variety of brands and products. I ended my shopping with some Stan's. They have a handful of drinks and donuts. Their dragon fruit lemonade is delicious.

I order 3 cakes for my daughter's Golden birthday party and the cakes were disgusting, you know it's bad when the kids didn't even eat it. The yellow cakes taste more like dry corn bread. I will never use this bakery again.

They have a huge store inside that I think I was just Like Wowed and in Awe. I'm Italian so I enjoyed the never ending selection of seasonings, and different Pasta to choose from. I've Also had the pleasure of using their online store for ordering, and picking up the items that was a great experience to. Fastest service I have had from any other company I've gone with either with my mom (Sally) or for her. Very nice people too. I definitely recommend you come here for your shopping experience! In-store, online ordering pick up to

Kroger has ruined this Mariano’s location. It used to be a nice store to shop - specialty shops and services. Now you may as well go to Food 4 Less. There is nothing special about shopping here anymore. It is a mess - poorly stocked and organized. Before tonight, the last time I was there was 2020. I stopped going because I didn’t like the changes Kroger made. I stopped in tonight to grab a couple things and saw it has only gotten worse. I have been in Kroger stores in other states and they are nice, clean locations. I don’t know why they can’t uphold the same standard for Oak Lawn. I guess the people that shop here don’t warrant the same service.

The employees are very courteous and the selection is excellent. They don't always have the products they advertise or give coupons for. They play the worst music on the planet though and one of the cashiers said he agreed. Samantha in plants is helpful and deserves a raise

Amazing service in the floral department. Samantha provided service well beyond expectations. She was very helpful finding the flowers I needed to make the best bouquet for a loved one. I definitely recommend her for future service. She is very kind and knowledgeable.

Came in for a smoothie Saturday morning to start my day off right only to find out the smoothie blenders weren’t working. Super sweet girl behind the smoothie bar helped me out a bunch and managed to get me my refund no problem. Been about a week and these machines haven’t been fixed. First time at the location definitely will return again soon only to see if the smoothies are back Up and running.

My last two efforts to "give feedback" have been met with "This site can't be reached". First time I thought "Oh, well" and let it go. Today, I have a suspicion that there is no one being given the job to read the reviews or there are just too many and many of them are poor reviews. I was going to state that I returned two cucumbers because they were hard to bite into and yellowed inside. Many avocados are yellowed the same way. The exterior of the cucumbers were beautiful. I thought I was lucky here, no soft spots at all! Well, I've had to stop buying their mangoes (they don't want to ripen or they're very darkened inside), their avocados go yellow inside and look like they are on their way to spoiling. They also have lost all flavor. Lemons are spotted and there are very few of them. I wanted the grapefruit on sale recently, but, again, very little to choose from and actual "rot" in the bag! Peaches and nectarines, hard as a rock! I've gotten great ones at ALDI'S in the past, not so much lately. Bought beets recently for juicing, could hardly cut them with a chef's knife. We were told at my last job that "Once you lose a customer, it's very hard to get them back." Looks like their buyers are told to get the "bottom of the barrel" once they arrive at the market. Got very good cucumbers at the 103rd St. Jewel in Oak Lawn.

This location is always clean, and the staff, no matter which department, is always courteous, respectful, and helpful. The prices are industry standard, but digital coupons are available and are well worth it, rendering excellent sales and prices. Marianos also have bulk pricing , which tends to be better than the sale price. There are approximately 5 register lines with 12 self-service lines usually open. The botanic section is above industry normal with a great selection. Piano music and a bar for a drink while you shop is available. The carts come with a cup holder for your drink, which is a nice touch. A hot bar with foods from fish, sushi, pizza, and other meats as well as soups are available. There is a cheese section that rivals anything in the area. A butcher for specific cuts of meat is there, and a cook is on staff to cook said meats while you shop if you choose. The wine and liquor area are as good as any liquor store in the area, and a walk-in freezer is present for beer. The produce section always furnishes fresh fruit and vegetables. There is a juice bar and a fresh guacamole maker. In the bakery section, there are baked goods and a canoli dip that is to die for. The middle aisles and the frozen section carry normal supermarket items. There is an international aisle that deserves mentioning as it does have some unique items other supermarkets do not have. Overall, A+.

I made an online purchase at the Oak Lawn Mariano's for delivery. The purchase total was 147.35. I did not receive 6 items and was charged for an additional 4 items I did not request, nor did I receive those items either. The amount I was overcharged came to 47.00. I contacted customer service was told initially that my bank would not release the funds for 5 to 7 days. I called customer service again today and was told that Kroger's refund policy was a 10 business day hold. They didn't hesitate to take the funds from my account, but I have to wait 2 weeks for a refund of money that was stolen from me by this company. Beware in doing any business with Kroger and check your receipts closely!

I went to this store just recently to grab a few things and also some food. I would say that the store is clean. I went in there and it was not so busy. Everything is organized, and I literally came here for just a really short time. Even if it is just for a short time, I have seen that the store is well-organized and well-stocked. There is a good variety of choices for anything. I just bought a few things, and with those, I was able to get everything accurately. The service is fine. The staff are nice and helpful. Almost everything about this store is good, except for the prices. I was really surprised by the prices. I bought the thing I needed anyway because I did not want to look for another store or go to another store for it and the prices were really higher than I thought. Their products are really good and of good quality as well, but I would not really suggest this one based on their pricing.

Man if I could get me a guy like Tom from the meat department I ABSOLUTELY would. I love that man gave me an amazing option for different burgers and was very gentle with the meat. Wish he could handle my meat like that. Thank you Tom from meat department see you soon. :)

Ever since Kroger took over this place it has been awful. They never have enough cashiers. The quality has gone down. There is not enough people working in the Deli. There is always a long line. It’s a shame because their bakery is delicious, the quality of the meat from the deli is good. They just don’t care about the custamore satisfaction anymore. It’s sad

Usually Mariano's is a good shopping experience for me. However today the lions were all the way back down the aisles. There was simply not enough staff to handle the amount of people in the store. Several customers were not wearing masks. I stood in line by the Smoothie Bar never to be approached by an employee. Additionally I stood by the gelato bar never to be approached by an employee. There were shopping carts all over the parking lots and all over not a good experience today. Would not recommend it to friends today.

When returning 7 glass milk bottles to customer service, my husband received $2/bottle refund. I We paid $3/bottle deposit. I checked receipt. Customer service said she didn't charge $3/bottle. My husband explained not her personally but Mariano's charged $3. They got us for $7.

Went to enjoy a magnificent band I heard after grocery shopping and their clearly racist bartender took her time to serve me, nobody else at the bar. Then would not serve me again because I asked her if she had pineapple juice. Elizabeth did not want to serve black people period and she displayed that when 2 other black women walked up. I heard her tell a couple that her bar was for them. Her demeanor was atrocious and she is not fit to deal with customers. Period

Mariano's is my favorite grocery store in the area! They have a beautiful fruit selection, very fresh/high quality produce, and fast service. Also a great deli selection!

  • 1/5 Natalie S. 2 years ago on Google
I purchased cole slaw from the deli which is $3.49 per pound. After getting home and unloading my groceries I reviewed my receipt. Come to find the person at the deli charged me $7.49 per pound for chicken salad. I had to return to the store for a refund for THEIR mistake. With these gas prices its unfortunate that Marianos wouldn't offer an unconvenience GC for my time and gas. Sorry just doesn't cut it.

Fantastic store with friendly helpful staff. I live in West Elsdon and travel south to Oak Lawn because it is such a good store. I got an incredible deal on bottles of Jordan cabernet once. And the selection at the bakery and deli sections are superb. Five stars and I wish I could give more.

When Mariano’s first came to the area, it was fantastic. In the past year or so, things have become progressively worse. They have not restocked the Blue Diamond chocolate almond milk in the refrigerated section in about six weeks, so I buy the unrefrigerated half size and pay the same price as the larger carton. There were about four sweet onions in the entire store when I was there today. Most of them were pretty much spoiled. Restocking items like tortillas or tomato paste is rare, so I have to switch to new brands all the time. They added fifty cents to nearly every variety of Amy’s soups. Produce is honestly the worst I’ve ever seen and goes bad so much faster than Jewel or Aldi. Masks are not enforced. The self-checkout beeps for an employee to put in their code constantly. Might as well use the other registers, but the lines are always so long. I leave here frustrated every time, but it’s the closest store with the most varieties of meatless options other than Whole Foods. Might just go spend my paycheck there and actually get what I’m looking for. Today was not a good day.
