We had a really great breakfast at Cafe Schmitz! The staff was very friendly and the place is very quiet and peaceful. Perfect to go for late breakfast with friends on a weekend. There was a bit of a wait, but in the end the food was very nice, so completely worth the time we waited. It wasn't expensive at all taking into account that the amount of food per plate is quite big.

Meine Mutter und ich waren um die Ecke in einem Hotel untergebracht gewesen und wollten eigentlich versuchen für den Folgetag einen Tisch zum Frühstücken zu reservieren. Haben uns wohlgefühlt und sind gleich zum Abendessen da geblieben. Bunte Tageskarte mit leckeren Gerichten, Extrawünsche (vegan, glutenfrei) werden gern erfüllt, das Essen ist lecker und Preis-Leistung stimmt. Daher sind wir auch zum Frühstück noch einmal da gewesen :) Der Hummus war wirklich lecker und ich habe schon lange keinen so guten koffeinfreien Kaffee mit Hafermilch mehr bekommen. Danke dafür! Insgesamt ist das Café Schmitz ein entspanntes Nachbarschaftskaffee mit Wohlfühlatmosphäre - drinnen wie draußen. Ich komme beim nächsten Trip nach Köln bestimmt wieder hierher zurück. We stayed at the hotel across the road. The staff spoke English & translated menu items for us happily. Most meals had a salad or fruit garnish which was nice. My kids were happy with the menu & so was I. Despite our initial hesitation with the menu we ended up eating similar things to what we would eat in Sydney which was a pleasant surprise.
