Came to the famed BaiLu for lunch. Enjoyed the food, the cute little shop and the service overall, would come back again to try other menu items. My favorite was the fried pork strips, super fresh and crunchy. First time having the bingfeng (ice jelly type snack) in Germany. It was adorably presented and was pretty solid. The wanton and noodles were just ok IMO, a bit bland and a bit bitter.

The BEST restaurant in Cologne. A Chinese restaurant by a young, talented chef. We took 3 small dishes, a wonderful soup, and a noodles dish- everything was so wonderful! authentic and delicious! The plates are from China- so beautiful! Desserts are great as well. Highly recommended!

Truly amazing! I had the chicken soup with the chicken broth and the match ice cream for desert, which was really out of this world 😍 But it does help to reserve in advance, otherwise you WILL be waiting.

I visited my friends in cologne and this artisan noodle restaurant became my absolutely favorite. What’s homier than a bowl of authentic Chongqing noodles for Chongqingers. You can tell everyone in the restaurant is passionate about what they do. The freshly fried pork is my favorite appetizer. I had the noodles with minced pork, yellow peas and vegs. It is extremely tasty. It pairs very well with the home made ginger ale. This place is a gem. I highly recommend it to everyone who would like to try some authentic Chinese dishes from Chongqing.

Wow. Fantastic noodle and cold marinated sticks! Staff members authentic and friendly. You can tell they love their job and do this for themselves because cooking is a passion of theirs and it shows in the food. I got the chicken noodle soup with the handmade noodles and it tasted like the chicken soup my mom makes back home. Recommend getting the lunch special if you are there for lunch, worth it! Will come back!

Really nice noodle corner in Chongqing style! I ordered the most representative noodles with beans (which you could see everywhere along the streets in Chongqing) and it was wonderful. Very authentic on the soup taste and spicy degrees 😁 For sure it is a bit different, but it is totally understandable since you'd meet the German legal requirements on food hygiene 🤭 and you cannot keep pepperoni the same as fresh as in local kitchens. The noodle itself was in homemade flattening shape -- different from the conventional ones in Chongqing (which is usually mass-manufactured), but I even prefer this version! The fried pork was authentic as well, kind of out of my expectations. Will definitely come over and over again once I'll be in Cologne!

It’s a nice and cozy place in the heart of Cologne. Rather popular for business lunches (no worries, you get an apron to protect your clothes from all the slurping). A nice selection of noodles, predominantly as a soup, and dumplings will fill you up nicely for the rest of the day. The stuff was very nice and I can speak for myself - I’m coming back to try out other dishes.

Hopefully that won't change in the future :) (Original) Meistens habe ich Angst, in Europa Chongqing Küche zu essen, da es selten authentisch ist. This is our go to restaurant. We usually eat here once a week. So first I’ll give my top recommendations, then follow with a bit more context: Fried pork with Sichuan Pepper Pork dumplings Vegetable skewers (mushroom & broccoli) Chicken broth soup w/ pork dumplings Cold sliced pork knuckle Rice cake with red sugar. When we first moved to Köln we were on the hunt for the city’s best dumplings and this was in our top 3. But it’s the fried pork that had us coming back for more. The menu says baked pork, but it’s for sure fried and delicious and likely what we crave the most. Next, spice! I can’t handle spice, but this place is worth the heat. The flavors of the sauces are so unique and delicious that the heat seems to be some what tolerable in exchange for the incredible food. So get a big bottle of water and maybe have some Kleenex nearby. But do not fear the heat, embrace it, because it’s worth it. If you live here and have the time I would recommend trying everything on the menu at least once. Because I think you will be pleasantly surprised with some of your choices that you wouldn’t normally pick. For example; cold pork knuckle, that doesn’t sound very appealing to me, but I read someone’s review on here and they raved about it. So I tried it, and wow! It’s so good! And it’s now on our weekly order. Also the veggie skewers, sounds pretty boring right? I can confidently say that the veggie skewers have the best sauce on the menu! We usually ask for more of the sauce to dip our dumplings in it or add it to our soup. The soups! Try all of the soups. The wording is a bit weird, or at least the translation to English is. But our favorite soup is under the homemade dumplings section. At first we thought they were soup dumplings, but it is dumplings in soup. But so delicious. All of the broths are next level good, I could just drink the broth daily and be happy with that. The top 3 things that they really do right at Bai Lu are: 1) the fried pork, 2) the sauces, 3) the broth. The pictures do not give the justice that Bai Lu deserves.

I don't understand why this restaurant has a score of 4.6. The food serving is very slow,we waited for half an hour for the food, the noodles have no other taste than spicy which means it tastes really bad. The fried crispy meat was too salty and had strange powder on it. Very disappointed and not recommended at allllll

(Translated by Google) Was there for the first time today and am overjoyed to finally be able to enjoy a noodle soup in Cologne where everything from the broth to the noodles is handmade. The soup is perfectly seasoned and the noodles with absolutely perfect texture. The pig's mouths are absolutely divine and with the perfect spice kick. Only the fried potatoes and the fried pork are missing a sauce, so the small starters are a bit dry and monotonous if you enjoy them alone. Service, great, great food, great everything. Come back soon to try the rest.

We went there with my wife and parents and had a fantastic time. The owners are very friendly and the spot serves the real deal! No westernized sugary fake Chinese food. This is authentic Chinese food that tastes delicious! The portions are big and everything is yummy. Go here for a fantastic treat. Sometimes there's a long line so make a reservation of you don't want to wait. My favorite was the mushroom dumpling soup and the spicy potato fries.

Always excellent and very authentic. I enjoy being asked how spicy I would like my dish, and even more when "Asian spicy" is an option 🔥 Lots of options for vegetarians, vegans and those with gluten sensitivity. Minor criticism - the portions are a little bit on the small side (compared to regular, German portions).

Savory broth with delicious homemade noodles is definitely the highlight, but fried pork and dumplings are also excellent choices of starters. The homemade sesame flavour ice cream is also something visitors shouldn't miss out on. My only complaint is that the place is rather small, and outside seating is also limited. Reservation is definitely recommended.

Best Chinese restaurant for noodle dishes in the city! The taste is amazing and traditional, don't come here if you're only looking for "westernized" Chinese food... The staff is also really nice. In addition, the restaurant is on a quieter street and not in the center of the city's tourism, yet close enough for it to be a short walking distance.

We were here on a Saturday lunchtime. There were a few people waiting on the line. All tables indoors were occupied, so one of the employees promptly set up tables outdoors to accommodate us. The service was excellent and friendly. However, like a few other reviewers had lamented, I had to wait long for my food. I counted, and I had to wait for almost an hour for our mains (noodles). The food quality is above average for me, and the price is reasonable. But it's not worth waiting for an hour for them. For that, I deduct one point.

Favorite place to eat in Cologne. Not just authentic but incredibly delicious. As good if not better than noodles I've had in China and the 口水鸡 (chicken salad) is a great starter as well the skewers (串). Soy milk or tea for drinks and you can't go wrong with their noodles.

The staff are very nice. However, the food is simply not good. Even though I ordered 'little spicy' , the noodles were still too spicy. And I have a good spicy tolerance as a Chinese person. The thing is, besides the spiciness, the noodles do not have much flavour. The stock is too thin. Therefore, I wouldn't come to this restaurant again.

Dumplings were very tasty but unfortunately my friend's dish was very disappointing. Industrial rice noodle and the minced pork mentioned in the menu was really scarce. Just a few tiny bits, which overall must weight 10g!! Ripped off.

We ordered three dishes, the cold skewers, the dumplings and a noodle dish. Cold skewers taste nothing like the authentic Chinese ones, way too sour, not enough spices. Potato and lotus root were soggy instead of crispy. Dumplings were OK, not the worst but the filling was not tender/seasoned enough. Chicken noodles were just bad, way too spicy (saying that as someone that eats spicy very often), and no flavor. I had to ask for additional salt to sprinkle over the noodles just to taste anything besides spicy. Atmosphere and service were good, but the food was disappointing.

I haven't been here for about a year. Suddenly want to eat chongqing noodles, think of Bailu. Let me talk about noodles first. emmmm, I can only say just soso. We ordered Wanza and beef noodles. The noodles are not chewy, not as delicious as in the memory. It will not be wanting to have another serving after eating. The beef noodles are too, normally. If I only ate noodles, I would definitely only get 2 stars. It’s 【Snacks】A lot of extra points. 1. Guagua Fen, personally do not like the taste, sweet and sour taste, the sweetness is too much, overwhelming the delicious jelly, but friends think it is very good. 2. crispy meat, delicious! And the portion is just right, no more and no less! Recommend! 3. pork knuckle, must order must order! ! ! Do not hesitate! highly recommended! ! ! It's so delicious~~! ! ! 4. The Cuba is delicious, but the amount is too small. 5. Bingfen, excellent! recommend. Finally we ordered Homemade Ice Cream, sesame and matcha flavor, excellent! I think it's delicious! recommend!

Eating noodles in such high bowls will definitely not spill outside 😆. Though the taste is a bit too spicy and salty for us..

Been here a couple of times now, and I just love the beef bowl with fresh chinese noodles! Appetizers I've tried were also delicious. I like that you get an apron so you don't sully yourself with noodle soup while slurping these delicious noodles. Anyway, I will have to subtract one star because I did not like the chicken stock they have, it's way to sweet for my tastes. I've only tried it once, so I cannot say if it's always like that, but the beef stock has been consistent, so...

A very cozy noodle bar, I would highly recommend. The dumplings were absolutely amazing. The ramen was a little bit too oily but still worth trying out, especially as they use yellow peas!

The food was good and really tasty. But I think the vegan dishes need more vegetables and a portion of protein (Tofu, Tempeh, etc.)

Food was really delicious. I asked for spicier version of the chicken wheat noodle and they did not disappoint. The dumplings as well as the noodles were really good. The restaurant is small so if you dont reserve a table, you have a long waiting time and the service was a little slow. The chairs are a lkttle uncomfortable but the place is really authentic. Will definitely be back.

We had to wait over an hour which is the opposite of what you expect in a noodle bar. However they gave us free drinks. The food was very nice. The noodles with minced were amazing. I would make the portions a bit bigger though.

(Translated by Google) 3/5 STARS ~ The shop is not very spacious, in the worst case you sit here a bit uncomfortable, so the atmosphere is more forgettable, the service is nice, waiting times are okay. The shop specializes in noodle soups, but also offers a few other specialties, which are more like starters. The soups are tasty, but in view of the prices they are a little sensational, because at least in the soup the noodles in the “Bai Lu Noodles” unfortunately goes a little under, you can feel the noodles in the soup count on your hands, a downer. The starters are the real highlight, simply a dream, the dumplings in chili oil are divine, the baked pork in Sichuan pepper to fall in love with. The flavor compositions are heavenly and the portioning is more than adequate, as the "little things" are very filling. I really like the shop, but not so much because of the pasta and you leave your € 17-18 with starter, main course and drink and somehow it's only enough for me for 3 stars. There are simply too many good alternatives for the money, but a clear recommendation, give it a try, the starters and snacks are a MUST! Note: The rating is based on approximately 4-5 visits.

(Translated by Google) The only thing you have to know: it is really original real Chinese food, so not the usual what is meant by noodle and chicken. So if you like real Chinese food, you can turn the 3 stars into 5, if you go 10 meters to the right, please, into the other Chinese. For European taste.

The food were just okay for me. They all tasted nice but not really very tasty or special for me. I’m a little picky for food. For me, tasty food needs to have rich flavor. However, my friend likes the fried meat a lot. He said it’s very delicious. Besides what in the picture, I also had a dessert made of rice and served with black sugar sauce. The sweetness was very light. Not really considered as a dessert for me. Will be better if It’s sweeter. However, I‘m not really a fan of their homemade raspberry lemonade. It’s very light. Tasted like water with flavor(my friend agreed with this too).
