The location cannot be beat if travelling by train. The hotel is clean and attractive. The on site breakfast is the only dining option and is pricey at 19 euros, but is quite good and served beautifully. Great room to people watch. There are quirks if you are American. Cannot control the room temp, the elevator is 3 feet wide and your key card controls access to electricity so no device charging while you're out.

Dated rooms with peeling wallpaper and holes in the walls. Very noisy with sounds from the street and train station, even on the fifth floor. Edited review in response to owner comments: Thank you very much for the additional information. Unfortunately the "soundproof" windows were rendered useless by the hole in the wall opening to the outside of the hotel. However, we really enjoyed the train platform announcements early in the morning. We also wanted to thank you for the months-old chicken nugget under the bed. That was great for a late night snack. And the handle constantly falling off the bathroom door made for a fun challenge to navigate in the middle of the night.

My wife and I stayed here in early September 2023. We loved the location as it is very close to the cathedral and train station, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My 3 star rating comes from the fact that our room was about the size of a prison cell. The hotel (for obvious reasons) does not show a photo of the room we had. Would not stay here again.

Ideally located within site of the cathedral, near to the train stationand easy walking distance from tourist sites and Christmas markets. Reception staff polite and friendly. The room are considerably smaller than photographed and are very tired decor wise. Dirty carpets, peeling wallpaper, burn marks around sink in bathroom. House keeping was very hit and miss, leaving dirty cups and not replacing hospitality tray items. This could be a fantastic hotel due to its location but is very badly let down by its state. Massive refurbishment well overdue.

Very nice hotel with a great location. Customer service is great and the welcome and check in process is smooth and fast. Rooms are clean, comfortable and not as small as other hotels. Clean and nice bathroom and a very nice view of the Haubtbanhof and the Catherdral towers. Overall a very nice experience

I have traveled to too many countries and a lot of hotels. This hotel is the worst experience ever. They are not flexible at all. They are even rude. (Please take 2 minutes and go over the reviews. It is worth reading) At first, when I ask to push reservation, they rejected right away. When I requested to cancel within the cancellation policy period, they denied that policy allowing refund at all. Then, they accepted to push it but with not the same amount. They asked for more money. When I came to check in, 9:30 AM they said check-in is after 3:00 pm with no exceptions. (Although I’m staying 13 nights and I already informed them about this more that 2 days in advance ). However, they denied and they said check in is only 3:00 pm sharp. When I asked to transfer my call to their manager, they claimed he is off. I asked to email him and they gave me a wrong email address. (No wonder) When I looked into history of reviews, I noticed many people got into similar situations. Therefore, I’m asking everyone to go over history of reviews before making any mistakes of going through this. I stayed in multiple Wyndham worldwide and this the last time I’m staying at any of their locations. The worst experience ever. (Be aware. Rude staff as indicated by other reviewers as well).

The second time that I put one star on Google Maps but this hotel deserves it We booked for 4 people some rooms and got positive of COVID-19 before going. We asked to the hotel to check for a slot later (even if we had to pay more, no problem). They told us that they didn't want to accept this proposition. So at the end, we paid around 150€ (without booking.com fees) to don't be able to enjoy the rooms with a valid reason which is being positive of COVID-19. From a sanitary point of view this hotel is a shame and irresponsible ! I will report this incident to a Booking.com agent too.

Fantastic location! Right next to the train station and less than 2 minutes walk to all shops, restaurants and bars. Hotel is clean, staff are helpful and friendly and i would recommend booking the "Deluxe room with city view" as you will have an amazing view of Koln cathedral. If we visit Cologne again we will definitely be staying at this hotel.

The rooms were not well maintained. There was a lack of maintenance by the hotel, everything was very worn and damaged. However, the price-quality ratio is good, due to the location and comfort of the rooms.

Super slow internet (Unacceptable for a hotel in 2023) Had Hair in the toilet, water fountain had stains so the room was certainly not cleaned before. Overall very old-fashioned and completely different looking than what the images suggest. I think the price was okay tho.

I can’t say anything connected with staying over night experience, but I can definitely say something about the service experience and it sucks! I had a stop in Köln Hbf for exchange, and after having traveling for 2h in Regio train without a functional WC, and with huge lines on central station I kindle explained the reception the situation and their response was “I don’t believe you”! The WC right there at the reception but denied and say only for guest! Helping someone isn’t a crime! I’m sorry for the one reading looking for having feedback on overnight experience, I decided to give my feedback since I travel often and 50% of the quality of the hotel it’s their personal/service experience that’s why decided to give the feedback!

Perfect location, friendly staff and a good room with a comfortable bed and nice bathtub. No (mini)fridge to store some drinks/breakfast in but it did have a watercooker with tea and instant-coffee. The hotel is quite old, and it does show but aside from some (old) stains in the carpet it seemed very clean. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet, can't speak for rooms facing the train station however.

I made a non-Refundable booking in July, 1021, covering a stay in October 2021, for a trade show. This past week, my flights with British Airways were cancelled, because of Covid related cutbacks, totally out of my control. I explained this to the hotel clerk, and to Expedia. The clerk gave me a robotic answer about their non-Refundable policy, and then Expedia tried with them as well, albeit with no positive result from the hotel. Since I had no alternative here, and was stuck covering a $1,922 bill, without any option, the hotel should have shown their understanding and cooperation. They did nothing, which is unfair and insulting. We in our company which has been a regular users of Wyndham, will never book for any Wyndham facility, or for their associated lodgings, again.

The rooms are bland, nothing really welcoming about them and have the bare minimum. However, the room was spacious and I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet. Unfortunately, being opposite the train station there are a lot of people begging outside the door, but the area doesn't feel threatening.

I stayed for 3 nights for business purposes. The room was convenient and the hotel has a good location close to City center . The cleaning services need to be improved. The staff at the reception could be a little bit more friendly

It is located very close to the Koln Hbf. We can find many tourist attraction arround this hotel. The room was very good. We got early check-in when visited this hotel. The service was also good.

Our first room smelled like raw sewage. After complaining. Management came up inspected and immediately moved us to a better room.

great location, 1 minute walk from bahnhof. rooms were perfect size and clean and modern. location was in the center and everything is at walking distance. the only thing i didnt like was that when i asked to heat my food in a microwave, they said they didnt have a microwave. everything else was great and they also kept my luggage with them in storage for the day .

I visited wyndham koeln for around five days or six. The rooms are pretty small and the toilets are tiny but the location and the service they provide for the price is worth it. The staff are super friendly and you feel welcomed every time you come in or out of the hotel their breakfast was pretty nice. I had it for one day. I love the coffee to, if you’re staying in Cologne for business, I would recommend this hotel for you, as it is in the center of Cologne

Very nice and friendly reception team! We have gotten our room already at 10.30 am! Cleaning was good and daily. Overall great value for money and very convenient location.

Hotel keeps asking me about a girlfriend downstairs. No I dont know what they are talking about. And no this hotel does not have housekeeping so if you want housekeeping stay somewhere else. Hair dryer is disgusting.

Due to this pandemic i had to unfortunately cancel my stay at the wyndham hotel. Now the manager has personally rang me and said the same booking is open till November next year. Thank you. I appreciate what the manager has done. I will definitely be back there earl next year.....hopefully

Hotel very well placed a two minutes walking distance from the center, train station, cathedral, etc. The service was nice and the room was very comfortable. However the bathroom is rather small and in general could be a bit more tidy

Very convenient location directly at the central train station in Cologne. My room was quite large with lots of space. The furniture was in good condition but the wallpaper and floor need a renovation. Very friendly staff, helpful and kind during both late evening check-in as well as early-morning check-out!

Everything was fine. Very friendly reception, big room with nice view, bed was firm and pillow better than in most german hotels (usually they are very flat and soft, in this hotel they were firm and thicker), coffee machine (both capsules as nescafe). I only stayed for one night and it had all i needed. Would stay again if i have to stay overnight in Köln.

Broken furniture, dusty room, TV from the 80's. Thats what I paid for. And its not cheap, 115 euro for the night! The location was great, right in front of Cologne Bahnhof. But thats the one thing that was good. Really unhappy

It's a good spot for a clean room, with a very central location. It's a bit noisy, and the bath/bathroom is very small, but the hotel is cost effective so you get what you pay for. Good for a weekend on a budget.

Using keycard for enttance makes it feel safe. No parking slot is a minus but there is a big parking building very close. Small rooms but location is great

We tried to accomodate here at 2 o'clock last tuesday, but the ringer for the hotel was defective, thus, we couldn't call reception.

Very disappointed. The room was very, very small and dated and nothing like the pictures from the hotel. The tiny bathroom reaked of urine. Probably from the very old tile grout and from not being properly cleaned. The stay was not pleasant at all and thankfully only 2nights. Did not feel clean at all. However, well situated and staff polite and helpful.
