Bad experience ! I booked an extra large room with two friends. The "boss" gave us a room knowing it was a smaller one with only one bathrooms & toilets instead of two. We asked for the the right room but, actually, a couple was in the room we booked and wanted to stay one more night. The room was not clean, there was a lot of dust on the floor and was not quiet at all !!!! When we asked Agoda to deal with the hotel to refund the price difference between the room we booked and the room we got; the hotel disagreed and said that we got the right room. (Which is a lie) Be careful, there's no one at the reception all day. We have waited around 10 minutes that someone opens the door of the hotel and more than 15 minutes to do the check-out (yes, the receptionist was making the breakfast, then nobody at the reception) 4-stars hotel ? Not at all, unfortunately

The only characteristic for a 4-star hotel of this property is its price. I can't believe this is an Expedia VIP property, really feels like three-star hotel from the FRG times. *Check-in: the self-check kiosk asked me to pay my reservation in order to complete the process, despite the fact the my booking was prepaid through expedia. I needed to ask for refund at the reception desk. I got my money back immediately, but still it was not a nice experience at all. *Rooms: small but rather clean. No kettle or even a drinking glass. The glass door of the shower was leaking and after I took a shower the floor was flooded. The floor towel did not help. *Expedia perks: At the time I made my reservation, and being a platinum Expedia member, I was promised a bottle of sparkling wine at check-in, plus a free access to hotel's swimming pool. After I asked for the wine, it was delivered to my room; still, no access to the pool was given. *Breakfast was the most disappointing thing. The website of the hotel (https://www.hotel-am-augustinerplatz.de/breakfast/?lang=en) says that on Sat and Sun the breakfast is served till 11:30, but I was denied access at exactly 11:00 by the staff in the breakfast area. I managed to get to the coffee machine and to make an espresso, but was asked to leave. I reported that immediately to the hotel's reception, and the lady working there politely said that the behavior of her colleagues wasn't professional. Still, I did not get even an apology of any sort.

Just checked in. Staff is polite and friendly. But 4 stars? Who is handing out these stars. Small room with a single bed. Dingy. One pillow. No sockets to plug near the bed. Internet too weak to connect. Glad I'm only here for one night, but even then not a good experience.

Horrible experience. Expect old beds that are saggy, no power outlets near the bed. Airco that doesn’t work. There is no pool or gym, you just get a day card to a gym nearby. My room didn’t have a Marshall speaker, like on the photos. The luggage room was unsupervised, and people could just walk in and out freely to the room, where I thought my luggage was safe. I found the staff to be very rude and unwilling to help. Last but not least: this review was edited en re uploaded about 7 times, because it was reported and deleted multiple times by the hotel. Keep that in mind when only reading positive reviews.

Tried to accomodate here at 2 o'clock on tuesday, but no one answered the door. They had a "Ring" doorbell, but no one answered.

Yesterday after a 12 hour flight I checked into this hotel, I had to take a shower with cold water as there was no hot water at all!! 😭😭 (The temperature outside was minus!) I have been to many hotels around the world, but this is the first time happened to me. Hot water was available an hour after we informed the reception. I'm very unhappy, I don't want it to happen again with anyone.

I was chocked from everything happened in this hotel. It’s not my first stay in an European hotel and in 4 stars hotel as they mentioned . The standard room dimensions is around 12 m² Which it’s not considered standard for 4 stars hotel. We stayed 4 nights there they didn’t change the blanket or the towel So we went to the reception to get towels and blanket to change our bed by ourselves. Finally last day the elevator was not working and we were staying in the 5th floor , so I called the receptionist to help us in our luggages as we have 2 pcs 20 kgs and 2 luggages 10 kg. So once he came he told me you are calling to bring your luggage , it’s not my job !! It’s only 4 luggage’s you can bring down !! What a way to talk to people !! Really that the word service ever and the worst hotel ever !!!

I am very happy that I stayed in this hotel during New Year. Neat rooms with all essential comfort and great breakfast service in the morning. Easy access to the city centre and plenty of parking possibility in the immediate surroundings. When you want to eat something you can just leave the hotel and go to the Italian style bistro place next door. I advise this hotel to all . If there is one thing , please mention that the next door gym and swimmingpool is only from 16 years of age. My children where fairly disappointed about this and it would have been simple just to note on the website since I have also calculated the price I paid on these extra features .

Upon arrival, the lady at the reception told me that they had to cancel my booking due to a damage in the water pipes. It was an unpleasant experience to hear that after driving 3 hours. I was planning to rest in the hotel at night after visiting the Christmas Market. Considering that I made the reservation 4 months before my trip ( a non refundable one via Booking), I expected to be offered another room or at least to be directed to another hotel. I asked the lady whether they were going to take any responsibility or not, she claimed that they were not responsible. She told me to contact Booking. That is probably the way to resolve things, but it didn't really feel nice at all. Anyways, I drove 3 hours back to my home in the evening. It would have been a real disappointment if I were coming from far away via plane.

There were bugs in the room and besides trying to move me rooms on the same floor, there was no attempt to resolve the issue. Would never stay again. RESPONSE TO HOTEL REPLY ON 12/4/23: Calling me a liar because you didn't find any bugs isn't great customer service.

Quick service, nice variety at the breakfast buffet. Rooms are very nice and clean. The hotel will certainly do for a citytrip in Cologne, located very close to the cathedral, shopping centre, restaurant facilities and a metro station.

Good hotel but small rooms and it can be noisy in the morning. Not recommended during congress weekends as prices are extremely compared to the comfort of the rooms.

It is a very old hotel, the sofa was a red very very old sofa, curtains and carpets are for sure from 1970s. They look extremely dirty and strongly stink, that all my clothing stink the same. To get the smell out, they use some very cheap chemicals that also stink. I had to leave the windows fully open even at night because the stink was very strong. And shortly after i got to the room i started to cough and sneeze very strongly, due to the chemical. I was just there for 1 night for business. And i arrived late so could not easily find another place. So had no choice to sleep there coughing and sneezing with all windows open in April with 6 degrees at night. Do not even consider getting a room there, the room looks like a horror story.

Our experience was basic. We had a slightly dusty room. And the shower water did not flow properly. I asked the staff to assist and they said they will send someone up but no one came. Also advertised the spa being part of the restaurant but it is a 200-300m outside of the hotel which means you need to got to the fitness gym.

As l should have got a special Offer from the cooperative website for an interesting price with a bottle & upgrade depending on availability. On arrival this ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ hôtel front desk was kind , however if the information could better provided in English. Maybe the hotel should have checked the offer first and actively providing the information. Although there’s no cattle/ tea nor coffee in the tidy compact room , luckily there’s a hidden fridge, just in case the 18€ breakfast will offer you all the hot drink you need in the morning from 7-10 am. And the bedding are comfortable, no fussy noise inside the corridors thanks to holidays goers of quality.

Spent 5 days here while at the fair, very nice staff & great service! The rooms are small, but for the amount of time we spent there, more than enough. Very lovely breakfast, and great coffee!

Staff was super kind. My room was cosy and clean. I really enjoyed it to stay and will definitely use this hotel for my next trip to Cologne. Location was perfect for me. I was afraid that if would be noisy at night but it was really quite. again, thank the staff for their really kind hospitality.

This is a great hotel for the price, very close to the centre of Cologne, it's so easy to get to the train station also, definitely don't need a taxi. The room was clean, the staff were helpful and generally the experience was just as expected. Thanks!

Great hotel with great location. 10 minutes walk from the city center(cathedral, train station) and 5 minutes walk from the river side with great places to take a beer looking at the water. The staff is really kind and helpful. The bedroom was super (508) very clean, great size and the bathroom spectacular. Breakfast was awesome with a lot of options to choose from the most healthy to the most strong. Even they had champagne for mimosas!! If I go back to Cologne I'll stay there for sure. THANK YOU

Modern hotel with great central, still quiet, location. Very friendly staff. Well equipped room, a little bit on the small side and with dark 90´s interior, more suitable for pleasure than for business trips. I especially appreciated the access to the very well equipped gym next door. Only negative aspect was the waiting time for check-in and the fact that the doors to the hotel were locked when I arrived 45 minutes before the stated check-in hour.

I would give this hotel a 5 stars if the check in was earlier, honestly 15:30 for check in is too late. Aside that everything was perfect room shower cleanliness etc... I liked the Marshall Bluetooth music player they put it in the room, the sound is really amazing.

We had a very nice stay. Rooms are a bit small but that does not bother. Staff is very friendly. You can park your car at reduced price in the parking tower in the same building. Central location is fabulous.

Ideal location right in the center with still acceptable noise level. The house is not a new built highest trendy, but truly clean, well maintained, comfortable. Also very kind and professional staff, good standard buffet breakfast. All above for better rates than usual.

Clean rooms. Convenient location. The rooms are kept quite small and with minimal furnishing. But it is a nice place. There is a bar inside the hotel and all stores right outside the door. Ample parking in the garage within same building complex

During my stay at this hotel, I was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service provided by the staff. Their commitment to ensuring guest satisfaction was evident from the outset. In particular, the manager, Dennis, stood out for his dedication and attentiveness. His leadership seems to set the tone for the entire team, as every staff member I encountered was courteous and eager to assist.

We stayed at Hotel am Augerstinerplatz for two nights between 21.09.23 and 23.09.23. The check-in was quick and the receptionist was professional and gave us clear information regarding the parking and amenities. We stayed in a "Tiny Kölsch" double-bed room. As we were traveling with a baby, we were intially concerned that the room would not be large enough to fit our collapsable cot, however there was more than enough space. The only thing the room lacked was a kettle to prepare bottles. That was no major issue however as we had enough ready-to-drink bottles. Breakfast was included in our reservation. The breakfast room was well stocked with an assortment of breadrolls, croissants, deli-slices, cheeses, fruits, boiled and scrambles eggs, bacon, and cereals. Tea and coffee were also included and the coffee machine was high-quality. The absolute star of our stay was the gentleman responsible for breakfast service, Elton. From the moment we entered the breakfast room Elton greeted us with a smile and after taking our breakfast vouchers and room number he guided us to the dining room and immediately offered to bring us a highchair for our son, which was a great help. The same was the case for our second morning. Thank you Elton and team at Hotel am Augestinerplatz, you made our stay a delight.
