The room was great, the shower was amazing and the hotel was close to everything we needed in Cologne. Will definitely be coming back again!

+ Amazing breakfast and long hours (06.30 - 10/11) + Perfect location + Helpful staff + Fast & working wifi - Beds narrow and pillows were floppy, but otherwise comfortable to sleep in

Great location, close to restaurants and the cathedral. We had the family room and it was very spacious, and with three individual areas ( each with a door) it made it great for a group, where each person can have their own space. Rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful.

This Hotel is highly recommended – both for the quality of the rooms and establishment as well as the very solid customer service. Rooms are stylish, modern, and comfortable. Staff were very polite and helpful. This is a great place to stay in Köln close the city center!

The Caprice is located in the heart of the old town between the Heumarkt and the Rhine. Great location for the Cologne Christmas markets and site seeing the city. Finding it can be difficult as it fronts onto a small courtyard and off the main road but that makes it quiet at night. Staff are fantastic and the rooms clean and modern. Would definitely recommend

Cute hotel, perfect position ( maybe 3 meters away from one of the Christmas Markets). We needed around 20 minutes to reach it from the train station, but the streets were crouded ( because of Christmas, I suppose) and it was kinda hard to walk. The room was small but it had everything necessary.

Stayed here in Nov 22 as a group of friends for 2 nights visiting the Christmas markets. Such a lovely hotel and great breakfast. Would stay here again. A note: the lift is not very big (standard European sized) but you may struggle getting a wheelchair and luggage into it.

Very nice location close to the Dom. Great and helpful staff! Our room was a bit small, but it was nice and clean. Okay breakfast, could maybe be more varied. Would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Great stay, small, cozy rooms. Clean, new bathrooms. Good breakfast, great location. Perfect for early morning runs along Rhine River.

My wife and I stayed there from 24 to 26 March. The first night I took some jewelry off and set it on the right of the desk by the lamp. I didn’t put my ring back on the next day because it was kinda bothering me. It’s missing now. I tried to explain to the staff but the language barrier really didn’t help. So now I am just going to be missing my ring. Guess it was my fault for not using the safe.

Nice, small, clean European room with a fantastic shower and basic amenities. Nice staff, beautiful courtyard.

In the middle of the old town. However no noise from outside, but the walls inside are thin. Rather unpleasant smell in the lobby and hotel. Rooms are smaller than expected, but cleaned daily and modern shower. Friendly staff.

Perfect location in a quiet courtyard behind the brew houses (walk down the small alley between two restaurants). It’s about an 8 minute walk from the Dom cathedral and train station. The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was good, the bathroom was modern, nice TV, minibar, and the room was a good size. Staff spoke English, which I appreciated because my German isn’t great. Great stay for my first time in Cologne! I’d stay there again.

Nice hotel, small, but very clean room. Very tasty and variety breakfast. Offer of gluten free bread. I recommend this nice hotel in downtown of Kõln.

Very conveniently located hotel (3-minute walk from riverside, 10-minute from the station). We appreciated being able to check into our room early (11am) and also the air-conditioning. Staff are very friendly too.

Would come again. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Basic hotel nothing fancy but a tad expensive if you ask me for 1 night 126eur....

Amazing value! I personally think this is the best location in Cologne. It’s right by the busy bars but still tucked away in a quiet courtyard. The breakfast was delicious. Large rooms with an amazing waterfall style shower. Definitely recommend!

Great hotel for our stay! It was small yet had everything we needed. It was perfectly located, less than 1 min walk to all the restaurants yet so very quiet because it was tucked away. We were out till past midnight every day it felt safe to walk around with lots of food options etc. Front desk staff helpful and polite, we originally wanted to book another cityclass hotel location but this one turns out to be the best located among all 3 of them! So glad we stayed here!!

Modern and clean hotel, ideal location in the historical city center, near the old market plaza. Just one strange thing about the layout of the bathroom, you have to cross the shower to get to the toilet and sink, so if someone has taken a shower you have to walk on the wet shower floor.

Modern rooms, in the middle of the old parts of town, couple minutes to the 'Kölner Dom', fair prices and friendly service. Can recommend!

Check-in: 11/29/2023 Checkout: 12/02/2023 Guests: couple 30-40 years old The location of the hotel is very good. Very close to the city's main tourist attractions and about a 10-minute walk to/from the central train station. Very very close to the Christmas market in Heumarkt as well (1-minute walk). The room has a good size, no carpet and very clean. The bathroom has a good size too. The shower was simply spectacular: lots of water and at the constant temperature you chose. It doesn't heat up and cool down like we see in other hotels. There is a minibar, but it wasn't cooling anything, I don't think it was working. The air conditioner/heater was central and, although there was a control panel, it worked but didn't control anything. It looks like fake. I think it's standard for hotels of this level to "block" equipment that uses a lot of electricity to save money. There is simply no sound insulation. We heard every step of people passing in the corridor and neighboring construction sites early in the morning (around 7am). We didn't take the breakfast, but it looked good from far. The reception was "cold" by international standards, but although this is a constant complaint in reviews about hotels in Germany, I think it's not out of malice, it's simply the German way of being. The smell isolation, if we can call it in that way, wasn't good either. On the first day, I woke up to the smell of breakfast bread and that was really good. On other days there was an unbearable smell of cigarettes in the hallway and it entered my room. I woke up at 5 am because of this smell. We hate this cigarette stench and had to deal with this inconvenience. It seems that the hotel did nothing, because we noticed this on 2 of the 3 nights we slept there. Overall, for the location, comfort of the bed and the quality of the shower, it was worth it for us. If the hotel actually improves these sound insulation and smell issues, and fixes the minibar, it would be perfect.

The washing tub is not in the bathroom but next to the tv?! Who thought that was a good idea? The door of the bathroom is from glass, so if anyone needs to go to the toilet the whole room is very light, pillows are half filled. And you get dry week-old bread at breakfast. I don't know why this hotel get such a good rating, I think it can be a lot better.. next time I will not come back but book one of the hotels surrounding this one because the location is nice.

This was a very nice hotel tucked away in a side alley of Cologne. The hotel looked recently renovated and the room, bathroom and hallway were all very modern and inviting. It's a very close walk to the water and the train station and nearby shops & restaurants. We only stayed here 1 night in our European travels, but it was one of our favorite hotels with how nice it was!

Extremely good value for money as the hotel is located in the centre not far from the main train station. Breakfast was included in the price. Very good choice of everything. Comfy beds. We were a large group of Tina Turner fans staying in the hotel and they even put a cut-out of Tina on the bathroom mirror. That was a really nice gesture!!! Definitely would stay in Caprice again!!!

This unusual hotel is so well situated whether you are sight seeing or on business. If you're visiting Cologne for the Christmas Markets this is your ideal location. Three markets are just around the corner, indeed one is on the same street. It is nicely decorated and the staff very obliging. If you like to take breakfast this is an option.

We had a lovely stay in this fully renovated hotel. The room was a bit small but big enough for two people and the furniture was completely new. Best part: It was extremely clean and the location is excellent. Would recommend to anyone and would come back in the blink of an eye

The rooms are brand new and very nice. The breakfast although adequate, does not have the selection of other City Class Hotels. Breakfast service was poor at best, the young man in charge did not even great his guests nor attend to any guest request.

Perfect location: central and quiet. Convenient parking at discounted price. Good room, but aged bathroom. Shower definitely should be renovated, also it would be good to have shelf or holder in the shower cabin. Breakfast is average, they don't cook fresh fried eggs, you can only get a bit warm omelette. And the major disappointment is internet for a fee, I believe nowadays it must be affordable for a hotel to provide it for free.

I stayed in a single bed room and it had all the necessities with a touch. Seemed newly renovated, nice tile bathrooms and good bed. If you want to stay at a low price and be comfortable if recommend. Easy walking to prime shopping centre and major sites of the city.

The hotel is very well located. It is really clean and tidy as well. The staff are very nice and helpful. I would suggest that breakfast is included in the price (given the amount paid) and sockets by the bed! There were none.

The hotel Caprice single rooms are an absolute nightmare for people who are claustrophobic. I had a terrible time with one particular staff member getting a room change her name is Lisa Marie, never have I met such a rude and ignorant receptionist in my life( I’ve worked as a holiday tour director for 25 yrs) Thankfully the lady on reception the following day sorted me out with kindness and empathy , I was given an upgrade and a nice email from the manager. If this was my hotel this young lady would be away from the front desk, maybe in the laundry room.

Hotel is located in a hidden square which is accessible via a few different narrow alleyways. The room was clean and complete even if it was the smallest room we had in the last 2 weeks traveling through Germany. Parking is possible in the parking garage "Parkhaus Heumarkt" which is only 100 meters from the Hotel. However there is no elevator from the lower parking levels. Luckily there are only 2 sub-levels ;). Next time in Köln we will use this hotel again.

Chapeau. Well done. Renovation was succesful. Stayed here before renovation as well. So I can compare. Clean. Great beds. Loved the pillows and duvets. Not too expensive. Great location. Public parking within 100 metres. Surprisingly good breakfast for a 3☆. Have had worse in a 5☆ hotel. Will return. Staff is super friendly. In German and English. Thanx guys!

Nice and comfortable room. Strategic position: in the city center but in a quite corner.

  • 5/5 Arash S. 1 year ago on Google
This hotel was amazing, it was very clean, modern and recently renovated, the rooms were small and perfect for one person and I assume also acceptable for 2 people. The bed was good and the staff were also very polite, friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return there in my next trip to Cologne. The neighbouring area was also a delight and breathtakingly beautiful and memorable.

A central location, with clean and comfortable beds. The bathroom designs were a little ineffective at keeping the water off the shower contained, but the shower itself was wonderfully warm, with an overhead fixture that dumped so much water on you, it felt like you were standing in a waterfall. Breakfasts were the standard hotel fare, but still tasty. Very nice, very comfortable, very recommendable.

Amazing service, amazing room. Very clean, will definitely be staying here next year. Julian really made the stay, we were nervous as our German isn't strong, but Julian really made us feel accommodated and was a brilliant start to our stay.

3.5 is a fair rating. The sparkling water was a very nice touch. To improve, take the restriction off the air condition, I always like my room very cold. Also don't have the cleaning person knock before checkout... you should have a system where they know what rooms are occupied at all times... if a guest gets in at 2am, a knock at 10am with an 11am checkout isn't so nice. But I am very happy I stayed here, I just working service and I am a perfectionist, thanks.
