A great little hotel in the heart of Cologne. First off, a taxi from the airport to the front door of the hotel will set you back about €35. The hotel is very close to the train station (Hauptbahnhof). Subsequently, the gorgeous Cathedral is a quick walk away. There are plenty of dining opportunities in the near vicinity. The hotel itself is relatively well appointed. The Room is clean and functional. You get two bottles of water a night (one still, one bubbly). Coffee and tea facilities in the room are available, but the kettle has a comically short plug, so it only works at the desk. Iron and ironing board is available on request. The bathroom is clean and have a shower over bath. The shower curtain is weighted down with little weights, so you don't get a clammy curtain against you. It has what I presume to be an infrared heating lamp in a funky analogue timer, if that's your kind of thing. The staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. All in all, I can fully recommend this hotel. Vielen dank, Hotel Tryp

Rooms are dated... staff is very friendly... breakfast has all you want.. and if you want a sauna just ask... half an hour to heat up and its all yours... maybe a bit pricy for what you get but I'm here around the Xmas period.. so that could be it.....

The room was very old and the walls are not soundproof at all, and every time someone closed a door or talked in the hallway I could clearly hear it. That's not nice at 3 AM when I was trying to sleep. In the bathroom there was rust everywhere and it had a not so pleasant smell. There was also no glass protecting the bathtub, instead there was a cheap plastic curtain, and if I wasn't careful the bathroom floor would be all wet when I showered. Also, the bed wasn't very comfortable and had a flimsy mattress. The location is good, right next to the train station, but I would rather have gotten something on the other side, because every time I came back from the city center I had to cross the whole station to reach the hotel.

Very bad service, very bad customer service on telephone as well, it says it's four star hotel, but I would not even give it a one star, unfriendly , definitely not worth the money I spent. There was some Used tissues when we entered the room, bathroom was not cleaned properly, The carpet in the sleeping room has a lot of hair on it,m. Never ever again Not recommendable.

Perfect location in Cologne (Köln), just a few minutes by feet to the main train station. The reception is open 24 hours, which is great for late arrivals to the city. The staff is very friendly and they speak English. I stayed in room 501, which was quite big and cosy, with views to a lovely large courtyard, where you could see a big central three and other houses. They also have rooms facing the street. The beds where very comfortable and I could not hear any noises at all, so I slept like a king. The room included slippers, shampoo, an ironing board with an iron, also a kettle with tea and a coffee machine with some capsules. I would definitely return to this hotel!

Chose this hotel for location which was excellent . Perfect even . Quiet and near train station , perfect for the Xmas markets . Had requested a twin room and upon arrival was allocated a double . Travelling with a friend so totally unacceptable but was offered no other option for the first night . Went down next morning at 7:45 to a different person on check in and was immediately given the keys to a twin room which it appeared had been empty all night ! Would not recommend this hotel for anyone requiring a twin room as there doesn’t seem to be a way to assure you will get one . Other than that once moved we were totally satisfied with the hotel . Room was clean and comfortable .

It was a worth visiting. I, along with my friend, stayed in a single room with two beds. Everything was neat and clean. They warmly welcomed us. Close to Köln Hbf. You can hardly find any other hotels almost opposite of the Hbf. Toilet and shower were well organized. We were happy to be there.

Location is nice. Hotel staff is very friendly. If you are driving there and need to park in the garage the opening and ramp down into the garage is VERY narrow and you'll need to go slow and be very careful. I had my friend get out and help me navigate out. The rooms are VERY small, although this was one of the only hotels in Cologne I could find that had rooms with 2 separate beds that weren't touching if that is something that is important to you. The hotel was expensive for the small room. Overall a nice place with small expensive rooms and a very tight garage. I'd consider staying there again if I needed the 2 beds.

This is the first day of our two days stay in the hotel. Hotel is very old and dirty, especially the bathroom (i cleaned the hairs in bath by myself). I reserved the room as 2 adults and 1 child and paid like this. When i got to the lobby they wanted 45 euros for a child bed (i have already been paid that before). As a traveller person, i do not recommend this hotel to any family with children.

Perfect location 200m from the main train station. Very clean rooms, little bit outdated but very comfortable. Coffe, tea and bottle of water in the room, free wifi which is working good and fast. Breakfast was very good, plenty choices, something for everybody. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. Good recommendation for everybody who wants to stay close to the center!

very clean facility. yes, the furniture and the bathroom may be a little old, but the fact that everything is clean definitely makes up for all the deficiencies. The lady who helped us at check-in was very helpful. overall a quiet facility. I would definitely recommend it, right in front of the train station and very close to the cologne market.

Location is super convenient, staff was always available and friendly. Value for money was good (I stayed during the week, I'd say on the weekend it is overpriced). Everything was clean. I teleworked there during the day and did not notice any significant noise, despite the room being located on the side of the street. The rooms and the overall interior however seems quite outdated and battered. Bed was comfy though and breakfast (for 15€) surprisingly good.

Clean and everything was well organized. But facilities were a little bit old. The location was perfect.

Excellent location for the hotel, the staff were exceptionally friendly. Lobby / breakfast area looked clean and modern, but the room was a little dated, but it was clean. Can't complain given the price.

Was there last year and the room was literally 100c and unable to cool it down with a half-working fan. I was unable to sleep all night, constantly sweating. The room was also extremely dated, red dirty carpets and old pine furniture. Stayed in 100s of hotels in my time and this was the worst experience, bar none.

Decent old hotel. Very convenient location, 3-5 mins to Koln HBF. Rooms are small but cosy.

  • 1/5 Davide F. 6 months ago on Google
Rooms are dated, the WiFi is laggy, the TV is at least as dated as the room. The narrowest parking structure ever (if you are lucky enough to get a spot). Cleaning service made the bed but could not even manage to throw out my take out carton from the previous night: I´ll let you imagine the rest. It´s a practical location, but there are so many other options in similar price range in the neighborhood: no wonder they were sold out and this one was not. If this is a 4 star hotel I am the pope.

Ok to have some rest: tea, coffe, teapot, etc - are in the room; clean bed linen. Very nice people at reception.

Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location. Rooms are a little dated and surely have seen better days, but with a new lick of paint (in this case wallpaper) as well as some maintenance, it would be good as new. Having said that, our stay was still very comfortable. Room was cozy and spacious. Breakfast was the "standard" fare, best of all was the price which was very decent.

Outstanding staff in both reception areas and breakfast room. Friendly and really helpful. We'll definitely be back. Location perfect. Very clean. Rooms slightly dated but perfectly functional and clean.

Really central location. Underground parking available at extra cost- bit tricky getting parked for the first time- one way street with tight road parking and you need to go to hotel to get access to the parking garage. Spaces are small. Little bit noisy as station is so near, we could hear announcements in the night. Good points are lovely staff, helpful at reception and at breakfast. Room is good. Great for Christmas markets.

Great location, just far enough from the station. Team seemed good The only problem was the carpet in the room was a little old, and showed it.

Worth Every Penny. I was surprised how good the hotel was. The dining area is very pretty. Everything is near Cologne Dom, Main Train Station, Cologne Trade Fair and A lot of Museums. 5/5

It’s an amazing location. 2/3 minutes walk from train station. Rooms fairly basic for €120/night without breakfast. Bathroom stink ! Damp smell. Staff extremely helpful. We are disappointed…

Location is ok but the hotel stars should not depend only about location. The rooms are 2 stars in other countries. Dirty walls and towels and disgusting toilet. And the furniture is from the 1970. No fridge and no AC.

The staff at the reception are amazing. Especially the Greek guy who really showed a great sense of customers care, he was absolutely professional, friendly and took his time to help me out and make my stay comfortable. Staff like him make customers definitely and happily come back. Thank you again Kilian

OK as a business hotel. Rooms are small but comfatable and clean. Breakfasts very good. But some how my special, wooden handled rasor (presant from my wife) was taken from my room.

Excellent breakfast. Clean premises. Helpful and friendly staff. The room and technical equipment carried signs of wear and tear, but they fulfilled their purpose. Location excellent, close to central station, but in a rather quiet street. Parking in a nearby parking house. (within 5 minutes walk)

Well located, close to the Central Station. Cheap and good for the low cost.

Amazed Wyndham have to it their name to this toilet. Very small and dated rooms, terrible service and dirty. A slur on an otherwise well thought of brand.

The staff is very, very kind and helpful; however it is extremely misleading to call this a 4-star hotel. The carpet is so worn in places you can see the bare flooring. The fixtures are rusted in places. The beds are clean, but not very comfortable. The amenities are also not what you would expect for a place calling itself four-star (no restaurant except for breakfast, no room service, etc). You can stay in much nicer places in Cologne for the same or lower prices. Note for the summer: the hotel does not have air conditioning but does provide a small portable fan, which does very little if it is very hot.

Very outdated rooms, but clean and comfortable. Good location, right by the train station. Room was backed up to a courtyard and very quiet. Tons of soap and amenities provided. Lobby areas have been redone, and they have complimentary cookies, water, and apples. Room has kettle with coffee and tea (surprisingly very good instant coffee!). They have a VERY tiny fitness center at the top floor (1 elliptical, 1 treadmill, 1 bike, mat, and 5kg weights) and a sauna. In the fitness center there is complimentary water. They offer a 5euro bar credit if you skip room service, which we redeemed for tasty coffee drinks in the morning. These little perks were appreciated and made our stay that much more enjoyable.

The location is perfect, the room is huge and comfortable, the personnel is really nice, and the checkout is late. We didn't try the restaurant but for 12 euros a buffet I think is quite OK.

Location is great, close to the Rhine River, Train a Station and the Cathedral. Pricing is reasonable. Breakfast is available but there are so many bakeries and such in walking distance that it's worth to switch it up. Downside for me was the pillows and mattresses. I also missed a fridge in the room and A/C

We booked this place because it says it has private parking…we were told it doesn’t so we had to park elsewhere(defeating the whole purpose of getting rooms in this place). To call this place trash is an insult to all trash. The whole place smells like smoke, mold and mildew put together in a blender and set to ferment for weeks. The hallway carpet is nice, but the carpets in the rooms look like it’s been around since the early 90s. Even after moving from one room to another, the scent or the look of the room hasn’t improved. Wyndham, you should be ashamed to charge roaches to stay here, let alone people.

Great location Gave us a bigger room after our request because we were carrying heavy bags

Great location, nice staff. Rooms old, scuffs on walls, carpet frayed and worn. Needs AC and a refurb.

I believe our room was upgraded from original booking, due to water pressure issues at sister hotel. Room has distinct seating area which can totally closed off from bedroom area.Flatscreen tv in each area, corner building location offers good cross ventilation, but well insulated so quiet with windows closed.

This is an older basic hotel. It's definitely not a luxury accommodation, but it is clean and reasonably priced. It was a little noisy in the early morning but many hotels are.

👍👍 An incredible place with a great collection of cars to buy and admire. It is completely free to enter something that absolutely blew my mind considering it houses the Michael Schumacher Private collection museum.
