very not nice service. front desk service not very helpful. we asked if they had a phone charger because our phone had discharged, they said it was not their problem. the manager looks nervous all the time. we got an ugly corner room (very small) after visiting reception and asking for a swap - the manager said it was too late and he won't change us! You enter breakfast without any greeting, no one greets you and no table is given. The ladies who clean it seem very unpleasant. All hotel service deserves 2 *. This is the worst hotel I have ever been to! The staff member entered the spa area where guests go naked all dressed with a jacket and street shoes. An exceptionally poorly run hotel! In addition, we got a room on the 3rd floor and the elevator in the hotel has not been working for a long time! I do not recommend the rooms. I only recommend the spa, you can relax, but it's definitely better to come only to the spa and sleep elsewhere.

This place was incredible! We were staying in the sister Hotel and decided to try the spa&therme and we ended up staying till closing! It was so relaxing, very clean and safe. We had a meal in the restaurant which was fantastic, their English was very good which is always a bonus and the drinks were so refreshing and cold after a warm dip in the pool. Only few notes - whirlpools weren't on which is a shame, but it does state not everything is always on on the website so we were prepared to not be able to try everything. If you're not German, note it's very common for spas to be nude due to hygiene. Takes a few hours to get used to! The salt pool didn't seem to be very high in salt at all, maybe it was just being used as a heated pool the day we went but it's so relaxing and calm! If you try a special sauna, I can say from experience the Japanese style one is so hot people (me being the first!) Had to leave it before it finished. Felt incredible but maybe not for an asthmatic like me 🤣 They are very strict about the phones, you put it in its own little locker before even entering the changing area which is good for peace of mind. Though I did spot a couple sat on their phones, didn't see them for long so I assumed they got asked to leave. But such a good experience, will definitely be returning!

This is a fabulous hotel in Cologne, its a 40 minute walk from the Cathedral via the main shopping area. I have stayed here before and will definitely stay again. The reception staff are lovely, always a warm welcome, extremely helpful. The rooms are reasonably basic but OK, my room didn't have much of a view, but I wasn't plan speanding much time in the room other than sleeping. The bed was comfy bed, the window opened for fresh air, the room had a mini bar and a free safe. The shower / toilet was clean and well equipped, lots of hot water, clean towels. The rooms are reasonably sound insulated, however some guests always bang doors! However be prepared for the bell ringing from the church opposite... The hotel have an excellent spa facility, again the staff are really friendly and always available for a chat. The facilities (sauna, pools, jacuzzi, steam) are first class and kept in good order. Only one negative about this spa is its not totally naked or totally clothed, so not one thing or another. Although the saunas, steam room and showers are supposed to be used without clothes a lot of people ignore this. In summary this is a good value hotel.

I booked a double room and was lucky enough to get one of the two rooms with a balcony. The room itself was very nice, divided into two sections with the bed in one section and a desk and wardrobe in the other. The shower room was clean and modern. There's a spa attached to the hotel, but I didn't try it. The rooftop deck looks pretty, and is probably lovely in warm weather. The hotel overlooks a nice church tower and it's in a quiet corner of the city.

Airpods were stolen there, not very cool. Rather spend a bit more and get better service in exchange. Average for a German hotel / spa, below average for international standards. Just don’t expect any good service. Staff isn’t very helpful either unfortunately.

Pro: Close to 1980 restaurant and you can easily walk a few blocks to a few main streets full of shopping etc. Rooms a good size, came with coffee. Cons: Left specific instructions that my late luggage would be delivered and we would pick it up when we stayed again a few days later. My wife's was kept but they turned back mine creating an even bigger fiasco on top of AA and BA airlines screw up. Drinks in mini fridge even water has a fee. Breakfast is $20/Person billed to he room. 2nd stay, shower drain was broken so over flowed. Removed cap to discover gnats all up inside and left a smell having it open to drain.

One of the worst hotel experiences we have had. Horrendously rude staff. Only redeeming factor is the location, but even then it doesn’t make up for the appalling service. Room good but not for the price.

Great place to relax in the spa facilities. This was my second visit whilst working in Cologne. The breakfast is excellent.

Overall experience was OK, rooms were descent and the bed was good. Service was quite lacking as we had to figure a lot of things out for ourselves and the walk from the rooms to the restaurant was a little strange. We also had some ants in our room and we saw a mouse in the restaurant, we notified staff and they said they would look into it.

Very Nice Hotel, in almost the center. It has more than 6 different sauna and 2 pools, one is small inside and other hot 🔥 outside with jakuzi, dress code naked, but you can ware something or boxer at least 😅 Nice for relaxing if you are staying a lot of time in the hotel . Stuff friendly but not so helpful. I recommended 👍

As wa came to the hotel they gave us a diifferent room from what we actually have booked. The floor in the room was very old and dirty, curtains were ripped and in the bathroom is was a smell of cigarettes. After we complained to the manager of the hotel he was talking very rude and loud to us and did not even apologies. We had to complain twice to get a normal clean room. The price is too high however the quality of the hotel and service do not correspond to that price.

Great hotel with nice staff. This hotel is right in the centre of Cologne and also offers massage treatments and has spa and swimming pools facilities. My next time in Cologne I would book this place again.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. When we arrived it seemed lovely, but service was a HUGE LET DOWN. Me and my friend are both of asian ethnicity and did not feel welcome at all! The receptionist, gave us the keycard and sent us to our room, didnt offer to help take our bags even though we were two young women, with 1 bug suitcase and 2 other bags (we seen the suitcase trolley at the front). On top of this, the rooms are not located IN THE HOTEL, it was around the back, so we had to drag our luggage around the other side of the building. The room was lovely clean, and i had no problems with it at all! When asking the spa reception about details for the Spa, barely gave any information so we decided not to go. Spoke to one of the cleaners who was a lovely lady and told us everyone is pretty much naked even in the swimming pools. I understand in Germany, non-textile saunas are a thing, wished we was informed before booking this hotel. There was alot of men at this hotel barely seen any women so we didnt feel comfortable at all. Only good thing was the room, everything else just wasnt it for us. For the price, was not worth it.

The Spa facilities have many different temperatures saunas, 2 whirlpool, one steamroom, a small swiming pool and a hot water pool with hidromassage. There are a few different areas to lay down, one of them upstairs in a very quiet atmosphere. There is a restaurant accesible directly from the spa area, and there is a lift to the terrace to enjoy the 'skyline'. If you are not familiar with north european spa culture, be aware that most of this facilities are only accesible if you are naked. In most cases people are respectfull and concerned about privacy boundaries. The Hotel is located right next to a tram station, and you can get downtown by foot in no more than 12 minutes.

Great hotel, friendly staff, lovely thermal baths and saunas. Rooms were fine and breakfast was very tasty. Would recommend, especially for the location - there are some lovely shops and bars in the area.

We stayed there last weekend and it was 35 degrees. Its crazy to think in 2023 a supposed 4 star hotel does not have air conditioning. There were fans blowing hot air and noisy all night. We hardly slept in 3 nights. Reception didnt want to know. The rooms are also dark and dingy and seriously out of date. The spa area was nice. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location.. There are far better hotels in cologne for the price. Wont be returning ever.

We bought a coupon from Groupon for Double Room 2 Persons with Breakfast and Mauritius Therme in the beginning of April. When we arrived the Mauritius Therme Hotel, the officials said that we need to stay the other sister hotel which is 1 km away from the Mauritius Therme Hotel. We talked with the officials of the hotel and showed them, there is no indication about the other hotel in the coupon. They were saying „It is happening more often and if you want to stay here, you need to pay 60€ extra per person.“ It was not fair from our side and we left the hotel after staying one day.

This is a great hotel at a reasonable price. The front desk personnel are amazing! Eleanor was particularly helpful with a receipt issue, and she even re-issued a room key when I realized I had forgotten an important item in my room after checkout. The spa facilities are a very nice complement to the clean and comfortable rooms. The radiator heating is adjustable and works well. It's nice that you can also turn it off to zero when you leave the room. Thank you, Mauritius!

I went to the sauna tonight and it was fantastic. A very big jaquzy like pool and multiple dry saunas. There is also an outdoor warm water pool.

This review is for an incredible massage, not the hotel itself. On Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of visiting the saunas, and then receiving a 60minute massage from the amazing Carmina from Mexico. Carmina's friendly, calm demeanor put me instantly at ease, and we enjoyed some pleasant conversation at the beginning of our session. She told me of the many places she's studied massage in, the techniques she's learned, and so on, which made me feel like I was in very good, experienced hands (no pun intended!) She is so experienced, in fact, that she has crafted her own special massage technique, incorporating different methods to create something totally unique -- one method she used, lomi lomi, was so relaxing! Carmina is very knowledgeable and was able to answer questions about tension in my body, and questions about massage in general. Since i myself am interested in the profession, she was more than happy to give me advice and clarify anything for me. In just 60 short minutes, I felt like she actually cared, which isn't easy to find sometimes. My only regret was not booking 90 minutes. I could have stayed in her lovely energy and her miracle-working hands forever. It's pure luck that I got to be massaged by such a wonderful and wise woman. When I return to Köln, I will seek her out. In fact, I just might make that a reason to return soon! Book her and tip her well, my friends. It's worth it. Carmina ist wirklich eine unglaubliche Massagetherapeutin. Ich habe mich danach so entspannt und glücklich gefühlt, und ich kann ihren Service nur wärmstens empfehlen! Einfach ausgezeichnet:) Thank you, Carmina. See you again soon!

Mixed feelings on the hotel & spa. Room is spacious, feels a bit outdated. The spa on the other hand is fine, except due to the rise of energy price, some of the saunas are closed, pools are not heated and a lukewarm jacuzzi. Breakfast offer is fine. WiFi is a living nightmare, signal is not strong and everytime when using you electronics one has to re-enter the username and password given by the hotel. Pretty annoying. Overall an average experience.

We only visited the spa. The saunas are very nice and the ambience is good for relaxing. The pools were not heated as advertised, and we didn't find any information as to why. Half of our stay was supposed to be saunas and the other half the pools, but it was too cold to stay in longer than 1 minute.

The hotel was nice , clean room , the reception war super friendly and helpful. Spa o wow what a surprise I never thought wearing a bikini 👙 can feel so strange, just a little advice for all you are planning to go there it's 100% nudist spa , with bikini you can only use the pool:( . Food super tasty , but the service was a little slow 🐌. Breakfast perfectly served for everyone something.

Breakfast was quiet okay. The Location was very good. Not far away from shopping streets etc. The parking garage was way too small for all of the hotel guests. They told us that we can park in the garage of the Sparkasse. We had to pay 20€/day for parking. When we first saw our room, I thought it is not that bad. But then I recognised that the toilet is not clean. Everywhere was dust. Even on the Bed and the socket distributor. The floor and the corners were also not clean. The towels smelled like frying oil. We had Problems with the W-lan. The drain in the bathroom was also clogged. The room also did not look like on the pics. I asked the reception if every standard room looks alike, he just nodded. After I told them all the Problems we had, they told us that we should ask tomorrow for a solution because it was too late and they do not have another room for us. On the next day we finally changed the room but we had to wait until 3 p.m. The new room looked better. It did not look like the other room. So the man who told us that every standard room looks the same, lied to us. The Bed in the new room was like 2 pieces. They used the top of the bed and the bed as separate pieces, probably because it is cheaper than to buy a real bed. The staff was trying to be polite but you could see that they were annoyed and they let you feel stupid. On the first day we asked where the therme is and the staff at the reception laughed like we are idiots. The therme is also not that good. There are hundreds of therms that are way more beautiful, cleaner and cheaper than this one. The pool outside had a roof, so I do not really understand why it is outside because it looks like the inside area. The only difference was, that it was freaking cold when you left the pool. You also had to pay extra for the bathrobes. I did not like the whole situation there. In spite of everything, we tried our best to have a beautiful vacation. But still we decided to check out one day earlier. The receptionist did not even ask why, she did not even seemed to be interested. She just said that everything is fine because we already paid for the night. The whole time I asked myself why would they have 4 stars. They really did not deserve it. I regret booking there, there are surely so many hotels that are way better than this one.

Very old hotel. The room have no air conditioning! In august with over 30 celsius in room you can not sleep. You can also not keep the window open because there is long corridor and stairs connecting all the rooms where everyone can pass by.. terrible stay. For over 100 euro per night it is unacceptable.

  • 5/5 Robin T. 1 year ago on Google
Only visited the Therme, not the hotel part. The Therme is awesome. A lot of different saunas, a rooftop terrace and nice people. It's also smaller and more cozy than for example Claudius Therme.

Nice and clean, friendly staff and nice spa. PS: residents don't have to pay full spa package prices, it is €5 pp for the spa if you're a resident.

Room is nothing special compared to other 4 star hotels i stayed in Germany. Very noisy in the night from people chatting and smoking under our windows. No tea or coffee or water provided in the rooms. I wasn't impressed with overall service, quality of this hotel.

Positive: -great spacious room with TWO balconies right under the roof, with a fantastic view over Cologne and the dome (room 125) -spa facilities and cleanliness -super friendly and helpful staff -possibility to order a vegan breakfast -the relaxing massage Negative: COMMUNICATION lacked everywhere!E.g.: -upon check-in I specifically asked about vegan options at the breakfast buffet. The reciptionist assured me there were many options. Next day in the morning I find that there is not even one sign telling me anything about the allery declaration in their bread rolls or muesli so I couldn't tell whether they were vegan or not. (Other than that they had soy milk, jam and fruit which was fine for me). Upon request I was being scolded at by the staff that there was no vegan breakfast ordered for me and that they can't do anything now. Yes you can: tell me what's inside your bread rolls. No she couldn't but offered me glutenfree bread... even after I asked her whether she knew the difference between glutenfree and vegan (where she said yes) she couldn't tell me what was inside her bread rolls and kept on offering the glutenfree rolls. I understand that things like a clear and visible allergy advice take time to master-apparently 5 years since this new law came into effect in 2016 is not enough time. With their menu at the bar/restaurant the same: not a hint of allergy advice to be seen. So sad because it really is that simple and so helpful for a lot of guests. -the opening hours of the bar/restaurant were nowhere to be found. So we were quite surprised to find out that the bar only makes cocktails until 10pm on a Saturday night. -we booked two massage packages and neither the receptionist nor the masseuse knew what we had booked, what the package contained or how much which involved a lot of waiting and discussion. Despite all the negative things I would come here again (because now I know how to order my vegan breakfast and how long the bar is open ;-) ) The staff was- albeit often clueless- very helpful and tried to sort things out which in the end they did one way or the other. For me it's more the manager who has to improve signage/information and proper training for the staff.
