Zuerst einmal das positive: Die Lage ist nahe des Hauptbahnhofes und somit sehr gut, allerdings kommt hiermit auch der Lärm der Züge bis spät in die Nacht. Bei geschlossenem Fenster ist es noch erträglich, bei offenem Fenster wird man kein Auge zu bekommen. Neutral: Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach gehalten und die 10€ pro Person nicht wert. Der Kaffee schmeckt sehr dünn, die Tische sind dreckig. Kommen wir zum negativen Teil: Die Zimmerreinigung wurde während unserem Aufenthalt für 4 Nächte kein einziges mal durchgeführt, selbst dann nicht, als eine Reinigung explizit bestellt wurde. Nicht einmal die Mülleimer wurden geleert. Das Bad ist verdreckt und voller fremder Haare, die Toilette wurde vermutlich seit Monaten nicht mehr gereinigt und das Waschbecken war gerissen. Unser Hotelzimmer war beim Check-in noch dreckig von den vorherigen Gästen, das Reinigungspersonal kümmere sich nur auf Nachfrage darum. Die Handtücher lagen im Zimmer verstreut, der Mülleimer war voll und das Bett benutzt. Innerhalb von 5 Minuten wurde dann das nötigste erledigt, allerdings nicht einmal oberflächlich gereinigt, geschweige denn gesaugt oder gewischt. Die Bettwäsche sowie -Laken und Handtücher waren teilweiser dreckig, auf einem Kopfkissen sowie einer Decke waren große, braune Flecken zu sehen. Wir haben uns hier wirklich sehr unwohl gefühlt und dadurch so wenig Zeit wie möglich in unserem Zimmer verbracht. Zudem war am ersten Tag unseres Aufenthaltes kein Kaffee mehr über den Automaten erhältlich, da der Kaffeesatzbehälter voll war. Das wurde der Dame, die am Montag vor Ort war gesagt, sie hat es allerdings nicht interessiert, bis zum Ende des Frühstücks um 11 Uhr war das "Problem" nicht behoben. Die Dame, die ab Dienstag bis einschließlich Donnerstag arbeitete, war hingegen sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, dafür ein großes Dankeschön, sie hat uns den Aufenthalt tatsächlich etwas angenehmer gestaltet.

Unfortunately quite disappointed by the quality of my stay here. The price of a private room is extremely exaggerated (ca.300 euros for 3 nights) for literally only a bed and an unstable little table in the saddest atmosphere. I love it simple and minimal, but this hostel shows just no love nor care. Not even enough space to hang dresses. Cleaningness also wasn't the best, there is a table downstairs where one can work or eat (because the kitchen is only open for breakfast) always full of bread crumbs. The room was better. The staff was also weird, someone sleeping on the counter, another one speaking very loud the whole morning with the cleaning staff, very uncommunicative..Welcoming hosts should be the most basic skill of any receptionist in my view. There were also renovating a building next door and the construction works were loud from early morning til late in the evening, which made the stay even less comfortable. The last day I was a bit late with checkout (my bad) but the cleaning man just came into the room without even knocking first. Location is very good, just next the central station and very easy to move around the city. I would recommend it as a last option as in my case all other nearby accommodations are unavailable.

Wir waren 2 Nächte dort mit einem Kleinkeind. Unser Zimmer war in der ersten Etage. Das Zimmer war groß, und sauber. So auch das Bad....Es gab ein gutes Kinderbett . Leider hat das Hostel keinen Aufzug. Das war dann etwas umständlich für uns. Das Personal war nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war ok...

I paid 35 euros per person and i didn't found blanket, sheets and tower !!!! , Very very Bad Hostel, I never saw that. Impolite home, no preparation of the room unclean room, avoid it if you want to have a good stay ....

We booked a room for 4 people and the room is big and comfortable. Walking distance to the Koln main station. Easy to get food as well. The downside is just no microwave or shared kitchen that can be used as well as no laundry. You need to use laundry services outside, that reachable by using train or walking for 7-13min.

Unfriendly staff; Rooms very cold specially in the night time. The radiator (heater) did not work in my room I told the man in the reception but he said that I can not do any thing now and will get it fixed the next day . But it was not fixed the next day and even later. I asked them to give me an electric warmer at least but they simply said we do not have any.

Room with a bed smell not aerated. Parking is sooo small, the door is too small. But it is so safe : the hotel and the parking.

Schlimm. Das Zimmer an sich war ok: Groß aber leer, A&O Stil eben. Aber die Hygiene... Das Zimmer war mega-dreckig. Genauso wie das Bad: Überall dicke Staubschichten, Jahrzehnte alter Schmand an der Duschkabine, das Waschbecken riecht unangenehm. Hier wird offenbar nicht gereinigt. Von der kaputten Mischbatterie mal abgesehen (nur Kalt oder sehr heiß möglich). Das diese basics bei 140 EUR nicht stimmen ist ein no go! Außerdem fällt aufs Hstel bezogen negativ auf, dass es keine Küche oder keinen Kühlschrank gibt. Hat m.E. wenig mit einem Hostel zu tun, finde ich. Nur die Lage des Gebäudes ist super. Aber ich komme nicht wieder. Für 140 EUR die Nacht finde ich auch in Köln ein sauberes Zimmer woanders.

Shower was cold and didn't heat up. Staff made up excuses that they would fix it in their basement and I just had to wait an hour for it to be fixed, but nothing happened. When I went back down, staff was nowhere to be found. No compensation could be offered besides a coffee, for a broken shower!! Besides that, just very dirty and smelly.

The worst hostel in Europe. No communication. The order cannot be canceled. They do not answer letters and calls. I have not been able to contact the hotel for 3 weeks, They do not call, respond to messages, do not administer the contact form. Write wherever you want - no answer. Finally, they charged me 247.11 euros for the reservation. The worst loss and experience of my life. I don't recommend it.

Medium-low quality hotel. In fact they are hostel, oder ? Room is basic. Service is minimal. I think the people working there are part time students.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel , we had a problem with the sink, and they charged us very quickly, I only didn't like the double beds, they were moving from each other easily.

The place says it is not a hostel but is a hotel and it couldn't be further from the truth. It was clean, however there is no A/C, no phone, no hangers, no hand towels, no washcloths no elevator, no glasses in the bathroom. Above all, they charge 205 Euro which was ridiculous for what we got. That did not include breakfast. Also, the building is nearly attached to the train tracks and there is a derelict park across the street where people like to party into all hours of the night. It is extremely, extremely loud and we hardly slept.

Ok hostel. Don't expect to meet people to party with. The room in summer was really hot and bad ventilated. We had to keep the windows always open otherwise we were suffocating. There is a kitchen but they don't allow you to use it out of the breakfast hours.

Problemloser check-in und check-out und auch die Lage ist mit unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hbf sehr zentral. Leider war das (zumindest geräumige) Zimmer nicht gründlich gereinigt. Unter anderem Staub auf dem Boden, Haare auf dem Bettlaken und sogar benutzte Handtücher in im Badezimmer. Wäre das Bett nicht gemacht gewesen, wäre ich davon ausgegangen, dass es vergessen wurde, sauber gemacht zu werden... Zudem funktionierte die Heizung im Badezimmer nicht, was grundsätzlich nicht schlimm ist, während eines Aufenthaltes Mitten in der Winterzeit aber durchaus unangenehm werden kann. Für den aktuellen Preis meiner Meinung nach leider zu viele negative Eindrücke - daher insgesamt nur zwei Sterne.

Great place, was my second time staying. I have been to the one in Warsaw. However, my room was super dusty and I had allergic reaction. Bathroom shower curtain was dirty and had stains didnt feel clean.

Most horrible hostel ever. Please don't leave any valuables in your room if you all choose to stay at this hostel. In my case, they came into my room and took all of my personal belongings outdoors ( 15minutes late from checkout time at 10am). You all can charge me if I'm late but do not touch my personal belonging. First and last stays at the A&O hostel.

My first a&o experience. The room was super and extremely clean too. A little bit pricey for a hostel but otherwise great.

You hear a lot of noise from the passing by trains and other guests make a lot of noise. They where doing renovations on the second floor what made also some noise. The room and bathroom are basic but clean.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good bag drop facility. I didn't have the breakfast, but it looked good. I would recommend this hotel.

Verry verry poor!!! No AC are you serieus really?????? No fan, hot as hell in our 5th floor room. Breakfest is a joke literally. Only bread and cold cuts. Over priced NEVER AGAIN. I beg you all to reconsider if your thinking about booking a room here. Max 20 Euros is whats its worth. NEVER AGAIN YOU CHEAP HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly we have to accept that A&O is a low price basic hotel/hostel. The size of room and bathroom is ok for that price almost spacy. The interior is very simple. The staff is friendly and supportive. In case you expect luxury - you are wrong here. What I would have much appreciated? A kettle to make hot water, not in every room but at least in a kind of shared mini kitchen.

Predatory charge for having a bedsheet. You need to pay 4 euros to have bedsheets. What the hell is that?! I didn't see information of this kind anywhere. Anyway - misleading pricing aside the rooms were clean and the staff were reasonably friendly. Really great location and smooth checkin/checkout. Vending machines and breakfast is available on site and it's a 5 minute walk from the center and train station to get anywhere you like

The hotel in not too far from the RR station and nearby the famous cathedral. Easy access to the busses and tramway lines. We found the hotel clean and the room spacious. The attendant at the desk was very obliging and spoke very good English. However, there is no elevator and we had to carry our heavy bags to the third floor (or North American 4th floor). The main problem was a defective shower which produced either too hot or too cold water. All in all a reasonable choice for a budget-conscious traveler and if you manage to get a proper shower output and temperature.

It's a nice chic hotel with spacious room. Clean and the bed is comfortable. The surrounding is pretty, and the walk from Hbf is enjoyable. The wall is too thin, though, as I can hear every footstep in the hall and whatever people in the next room do.

We arrived on time but we had to wait an hour for our room to be cleaned and prepared. The entrance to the parking is extremely narrow and we scratched our car. I wouldn't say the staff was awful, just unfriendly and uninterested. The hot shower didn't work. The bunk beds in our room had no bedsheets and when we went to the reception to get some nobody was there. Had to wait for someone from the staff. Overall, my experience wasn't great and I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Very poor quality for the amount we payed.

Nice location and very helpful staff, rooms are clean but basic nice clean fresh bathrooms

The location was really accesible but our stay was terrible. The room was untidy.The Towels are on the floor when we opened the door.The Double bed does not have bed sheets at all😡

The staff was not very friendly and the floor in our room was definitely not cleaned prior to our arrival. The Wi-Fi worked fine, which sadly was one of the only satisfying things. I would not necessarily stay there again.
