Undisputed champion of Pho in Köln (possibly the whole NRW). Köln lacks no outstanding Vietnamese culinary experience or vegan Vietnamese gourmet. Here is the only place, however, where the whole experience is so extraordinarily yummy & genuinely authentic, that I can imagine myself back to South East Asia. What makes Nam‘s pho absolutely shined is their noodle anf broth: they definitely cared about the broth’s authenticity while remaining vegan. Furthermore , they are the only restaurants I have visited so far who actually cared about the authenticity of the noodle. 99% of Vietnamese restaurants in Germany ignored it and sourced the same mechanical brand, which is too big and broad and rough mouthfeel compared with authentic Pho in Vietnam! My only critique is the Tofu’s quality. But within the extreme dedication to serve Pho the way it is like at home, I would be more than happy to give them 6/5 stars. Plus, the lady who served me has the prettiest smile and flawless skin, too! ☺️ She seems happy to be serving me the food. I would too if I were her. I order an extra portion to take away. It is that awesome of a little place.

The food was amazing. The lunch time special is cheap and very filling. Would recommend coming during lunch time to get the specials. We had the Sesame chicken and Curry Chicken and both with very good.

Too expensive and overrated dishes! The restaurant is located on the outskirts of Köln's city centre and there is outdoor and indoor seating. It typically opens at around 17 pm. I ordered duck with mango and rice which was ok but it cost €15 and I didn't expect the meat to be fried. Overall, a somewhat nice restaurant if you don't really care about money.

I almost never leave reviews for places but Nam really deserved this rating for providing the best dinner experience to end my day. Menu was entirely in German but one guy was super kind and patient enough to give me food recommendations from the menu. Also had a short conversation with him about my short vacation in Cologne Food came by and it was insanely delicious on top of their homemade lemonade (but with limes instead of lemons). I totally did not expect when the lady said “we’d like to give you some dessert, hope you enjoyed them” not sure if this is a usual thing for them or a special treatment for being a solo traveler haha Solo travelling or with friends, asian or non-asian. Definitely would come here again the next time I come to Cologne!

Though we love trying out new places, we went back a second time two days later. This time the fantastic banana-pandan-tapioca dessert even got a birthday upgrade, which goes to show that the owners here truly go the extra mile for their customers. We had a short chat with our host and were able to make the dessert ourselves later thanks to his explanation. If I ever visit Cologne again, I'd definitely go here once more.

I had the vegan pho and hot Vietnamese coffee for 17.40 €. The portion size for the pho was generous and the homemade seitan inside was tasty. The coffee was very delicious, the best coffee I’ve had in Germany so far - very strong and full of flavor (and of course sweet from the condensed milk!). The service was wonderful and the staff there is very kind. They also accept both cash and credit card which was convenient, since none of the other Vietnamese restaurants around take cards besides Nam that I could see.
